  1. [sORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH] Hi guys! My 4 months husky, Winter. He is such a naughty husky. He likes to run around in the house ( cause he has not get his third injection ) He used to listen to me when I command him or call him but now it won’t work out. He only listen me when I had treats in my hand. He sleeps in a cage but not fully closed. I always wanted Winter to sleep in my room freedomly without cage. But he likes to bite my furniture all the time. What should I do to make him be a good boy? Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

  2. I've got my male pup for almost 1.5 months now. Ever since I got him, he is very fearful. The first week I started walking him, he wanted to hide under parked cars and had a strong fear towards unfamiliar dogs and humans - He jumped in a river because another (calm) dog was following and smelling his butt. Although the fear for other dogs disappeared after several weeks by going daily to the dogs park for socialize, I don't see any progress, maybe slight regression over the fear of humans - starting from new people coming inside home to having panic fear when we pass a stranger outside - strongly pulling the opposite way or towards his comfort zone (Home). When we ge…

I started training my pup at 8 weeks he picked it up pretty fast. He knows the commands but all of a sudden now is ignoring me. He has stated pulling on a leash won't sit, he knocked me off my feet the other day. He's started jumping up stealing food. It does not matter how many times he's told he will do it. My pup is 7 month old settled in he gets plenty of exercise. He's changed. I know they can be stubborn but he is not a nice pup at the moment.

Hi! I’m new here, Welcome me yayyy! I have a husky name Winter. His about to 4 months now. His behavior was very good but now he turned to be a naughty boy. Last time, he’ll listen to me everytime I command him but now he refuse to do so! Only when the treats come, he will 90% focus on me. Haha. Lastly, is he skinny?? I feed him 6 scoops a meal. Winter has his own youtube channel! All of you are welcome!

Hi, we’re considering adopting a Siberian husky, and one particular dog we met today and clicked with exhibits some off-leash dog dominance. We didn’t witness it as we spent time with the dog today on leash, but it was described to us as her “checking other dogs” by running into them with her shoulder and biting at their necks when in an open field off leash (edit: open as in room to run around and play, but still secured. Not totally open, The rescue has quite a bit of acerage.). It has not been hard enough to draw blood. She is one year old. On the leash, we did have one occurrence today where another dog walked by and went to the end of his leash and up on his hind leg…

  6. Hello! I'm hoping this is posted in the right section. Not sure. It's about both my dog and myself. My 4.5 month old dog was attacked a month ago, and while she seems to have made a full recovery (fur growing back where the bite mark was/is), I cannot say the same for me. I think I'm traumatized and I'm affecting my girl as well. I have become fearful on our walks in the mornings. Any bark, even off in the distance, makes me tense. Dogs outside, if I don't immediately see the leash, I'm tense. I'm always on alert-mode instead of just enjoying the walk. My girl normally enjoys her walks, but today I messed up really bad. We were walking down the street, an…

New to the site and new to owning my gorgeous loving little man. He's been home for almost two weeks, and he's almost 4 months old. He had a week of bed time with mom and dad, but with the household accidents, he's starting crate training. Dad is harsher on punishments, but mom is far too lenient. and Nix sticks to mom like glue. Been with crate training for a week or so, but his separation anxiety is giving mom anxiety. Dad owned many a dog, but this is a first for mom, at least in adulthood. His crate is at the end of the bed. Good or bad? Should he be in another room? Dad leaves for work at 5am....can mom bring him in the bed then?

  8. Hi everyone, some questions about loose leash walking from an inexperienced dog owner. I use the stop-and-go method for leash training - loose leash means go, stop the second the dog starts pulling, go again when the leash has slack. A couple questions: First, I can't imagine having a husky walk at heel like they show on (cough cough) some TV shows. Seems silly. It's fine for a husky, who walks faster than me anyways, to be in front, right? Second, I understand that pulling on the leash or adding tension to the leash encourages reactivity. I hear that this is what a lot of dog owners do wrong - they see a stimulus and tense up, which causes the dog to …

I have never been a fan myself of crate training but, with my recent problems witha sick dog getting bored and eating a kitchen cupboard and wrecking a bed I have been thinking that crate training my dogs so if need be they will be calm in an crate at extreme times. I have a husky a german shepherd and a Malinois. All 3 are big strong dogs and i know that dogs have a habit of trashing cages and escaping So the question is, Who makes a strong escape proof crate that is strong enough to keep a powerful dog like a husky or a malinois contained I am looking for a strong cage that can fold up for ease of storage when not being used. and one that is not rub…

I have a 7 month old male sibe. I have other dogs and can't seem to get him to leave one of my dogs alone. He starts to play rough my other dog is elderly and does not want to play. He gets too rough I tell him to stop and he does. It always happens when I'm not there as he knows he is not to do it. My other dog does tell him off but he takes no notice as he only has two teeth. How can I get him to leave my elderly dog alone. Like I said he does not do it with my other 3 dogs. All my other dogs are smaller than him.

I have a 10 month old husky who has an aggression problem. She’s always been with other dogs, she’s one of ten from her litter and the only time she wasn’t exposed was from six weeks old to eight weeks old. We have two other dogs in the house the same age as her but a different breed and much smaller. Aspen has on several occasions outright lunged and attacked the one dog. We have them both in training but yet each time I think she’s getting better she suddenly lunges. Does anyone have any tips? This is primarily a problem in the living room. They pass each other in the kitchen and no problems occur. She also doesn’t seem to have an issue with the third dog, it’s ju…

Hey all, so i've just ordered some canicross gear from indi dog. I have two huskies. Both are a handful and both are rescue dogs. Taylor is 3.5 and Blaze is 20 months. My plan is to start running with them both before i hook up the bike. They pull quite hard on the lead and occasionally start to play with each other, which whilst hooked up to a lead is another level of challenging. Can anyone offer any advice of how to start encouraging direction changes, start/stop, slow etc......

Hi! I'm new to this forum but figured someone may be able to give some type of insight. I have a 5 month old husky Pomeranian mix (1/4 pomeranian). She's usually very well behaved other than a couple of accidents in the house here and there. BUT starting a few days ago she has been peeing in our bed. This isn't while we're sleeping or anything, but if we're in the house and not keeping an eye on her for a minute or so, she'll go in for the pee (I don't think it's because she isn't getting attention, because she usually likes to keep to herself anyway). She isn't letting us know that she needs to go out when this happens, she seems to just do it for no reason. We haven't …

Harlow dug this hole and stole a chicken from out neighbours.... it's a good reminder/information for others that their prey drive is incredibly high. She did this between 8:30am - 4:00pm. The hole was about a metre wide and dug under two fences very deep. The neighbours were great as their dog had eaten a chicken before but nonetheless not an enjoyable clean up (still finding pieces in the yard luckily she burried the carcass whole though). She wasn't bored as I'd left all her toys out and had her off lead at the park for 40 minutes that morning.

Our husky, Blaise, is about a year and a half. She has always loved going to dog parks and playing with other dogs. She is VERY playful but never mean. She IS physical though. We thought we would get another dog in hopes that they would play together. So we brought home a little lab mix, Bella. We just got her yesterday and she's about 4 months old. I know everything is brand new, but Bella doesn't seem to like Blaise. In Bella's foster home, there were other big dogs, but they were older and more calm. Bella got along really well with them. Again, Blaise doesn't hurt Bella... she actually barely touches her. She just jumps around, like she's trying to tau…

My siberian is 6 month old. I first noticed this behaviour when he was 5 month old. If I'm walking him usually in the woods or in a field where it is pretty quiet and a person walks towards us with or without a dog he stalks them. He basically starts walking really low almost crawling. If I'm pounding round the street he does not do it. I can only describe it as stalking wolf like. I'm not sure why he would do this but it obviously makes anyone approaching me nervous. Any ideas.

I am going to be starting to train my 1.5 year old husky mix Shiloh and possibly my 3 year old husky mix, Keeno, to pull and do some kick-biking and bike-joring this spring/summer. I also have a 4 month old purebred siberian that I am going to train also, and will start teaching her commands when I start with my other dogs. However, because she is so young I won't be letting her pull anything, and I won't be letting her run a longer distance just yet. So this brings me to my question... how long should I wait before starting to teach her to pull lighter weight and getting her to run/jog the distance I let me other 2 dogs go? So far right now Aura is getting a 20-30 m…

  19. Hello, friends.I have a 6 months old husky that won't stop eating everything he finds on the ground including rocks, I have been training him since he was 2 months old, basic obedience, how to walk near me without pulling and i fixed most of the unwanted behaviors with a professional trainer (he trained me in order to train the dog).BUT , I couldn't find a solution on his bad habbit of eating everything of the ground, when we walk together on leash its all good I can control him, but if he finds a space he will grab w/e he finds off the ground. Two days ago he swallowed a huge rock and immediately I took him to the vet and paid 500 euros in total for the safest way to remo…

My puppy now a days always want to go outside and there, he will sleep. He dont want anymore to be inside of our house when it is going to sleep. Is there a meaning? Second is when we approach him he really gets so hyper and excited that will lead to bite us on our feet. There is a case where my father's finger in his feet got bite and bleed so hard. Is it just a normal? Can someone give a tips or recommendation what should I do?

  21. Hello! My 3-month-old puppy had an interaction with two dogs today. The first went well. However, the second interaction didn't go too well. The other dog snapped at my Xilonen- not 100% sure who instigated the snapping. The other woman just said "it snapped." I apologized and we went our separate ways. On the way back from the walk, we encountered that dog again and it started barking at us (I made sure we kept our distance this time) and my puppy wanted to approach, but was not aggressive. My puppy is usually very playful, but I didn't feel her snap at Coco or whatever his name was ... I know this is a dumb question, but is it hard-wired in a dog how to appro…

  22. Hello everyone! I'm new here, just found this site today. I need help because I'm at my wits end. I have a 3-month-old husky, named Xilonen. I have had her for a little over month. Training is going as well as can be expected. We were doing really well until about 2 weeks ago- out of nowhere, she started biting me HARD- my hands, arms, calves, ankles, she has even jumped up to bite my bum! Her teeth get caught in my clothes and she won't let go! She growls and pulls, even if I don't pull back. I don't care about the clothes, but sometimes she catches a body part, and it seems like her grip tightens on me. The breeder claimed she was 8 weeks old. However, we fail…

Hello, we just adopted a ten week old husky puppy and I was just curious to know if it is normal for our pup to lunge at us bitting? I have tried yelping , times out, firmly saying No and redirecting. I he is our first puppy and to be honest I am a tad bit ignorant on what is typical. We also have children in our home and he will at times, run up on them and lunge as well. This behavior happens most of the time when he is over excited and then their are times he will just lunge at them out of the blue. To be honest most of that above behaviors happen I feel when the pup is excited but their are times not All the time where he will just get up and lunge bite sn…

I've tried some techniques I've done for my 2 yr old male husky which I can walk perfectly fine but it doesn't work on her any tips? No one wants to walk her when I'm at work.
