Just looking into local training classes for Amy ( and us!!!) There is one near us that has been running for years and do reward based training, my concern is that Amy is sooooo distracted by dogs, birds, people........ the list goes on, which ends in her lunging round me in circles, sure my arms are 2foot longr! Any thoughts on wether a smaller or 121 class would be better initially? Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

My boy who is almost 4 has randomly started peeing inside. He is fully house trained and has been since he was a pup so I'd like to know how to stop this? It's ever since I had new carpet put down he likes to pee in the same spot. I've told him off and even caught him in the act before but he keeps doing it. He has no excuse when I am in all day and have let him out several times. Do I need to replace that part if the carpet? I'm guessing he keeps doing it because of he scent which I can't seem to get rid of despite cleaning up after him every time. Any suggestions to stop this random peeing? It's driving me insane! Has anyone had problems with their husky and separation anxiety? If so, what did you do? Our husky is at a trainer now for 2 weeks and he informed me that her separation anxiety is very bad. He said he could probably ease this in her but she may have to have medication. Help? Sent from my SM-G935V using Husky Owners mobile app

But she's started going the opposite way again started weeing and pooping more and more in the house and even goes as far as, to go what ever room im not in to go to the toilet! I've started putting a training pad back down in the kitchen aswell but will still go into the living room sometimes and go on the carpet! I smoke but take her outside with me everytime i go for a smoke, she'll go outside but then can sometimes go in the house as much as 3/4 times in the sp…

My husky is fine when I'm with her, even in her cage, but the second I leave the room she squawks like a banshee/hyena/monkey/dog! I'm trying positive reinforcement but she doesn't stop and she doesn't appear to tire! If I am in the room and I'm next to her (whilst she is still in the cage) she calms down almost immediately. I don't want to traumatise her by leaving her to cry it out and I also don't want to punish her too harshly if this is just puppy behaviour, much like a new born baby. Advice welcome and desperately wanted! Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Hello I'm a first time husky owner. I had got Zuri when she was 5 months. At first everything was fine. She knows sit and she sometimes responds to lay. Other commands she does not do. She has a habit of trying to take stuff out of peoples hands. And recently hitting. What are some good ways to train her and break her of the bad habits?

Hi all, just adopted a beautiful female husky pup and am looking for some general starter advice. I've been following her around my place as she sniffs happily away and she's already done well with scent training and where to relieve herself. I also started her crate training right away so she can get used to being in there. There was a lot of crying/attempted howling so I moved her into my bedroom so she could see me and that worked quite well. I don't want to do anything detrimental with training in this very early time with me that will affect our relationship later, so any advice would be warmly received!! I just recently got an 8 month old female husky (Kahleesi), a friend could no longer have her so I took her in because I didn't want to see her to go to the pound. I currently live in a apartment complex and I work three 12 hour night shifts. My little dog does really well with my schedule and I hoped that Khaleesi would adapt as well since she was suppose to be house trained. I've been having issues with her chewing on the baseboards in my home and chewing on things that shouldnt be chewed on. I have gotten her plenty of bones and toys to play with and always take her for a long walk before I go to work. I feel bad she doesn't have a yard to play in and I did a lot…

We were well aware of what we "signed up" for when getting Sinatra; a ton of energy and attitude!! The biting turns from play mouthing to aggressive quickly even when reminding her that biting hurts and offers of toys and not humans does not always work. She is 3 months and gets time outs when necessary but she's yet to catch on that biting=jail time... suggestions?? Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Hey guys, I just wanted a concise outline to bringing home a puppy. Kygo is 3 years old now. The only time I introduced him to a friend's puppy was when I first got him and it didn't go over well. I contribute it to our own body language. Anyway, I am bringing a new baby agouti husky into the house in 6 weeks as his little brother. Looking for some tips on how to do this smoothly.

Hi! First time husky owner, well, first time dog owner for that matter haha. My 8 month year old husky, Xander, plays far too roughly with dogs in my local park, I often let him off lead there as I can confidently say he will not run off. He is a sociable dog and greets every single dog he sees, has a large amount of friends, small dogs included, so its nothing of an aggressive nature. He just however, play bites far too much and doesn't recognise when the smaller dog is afraid resulting in me running around him like a idiot trying to restrain him and put him back on lead. When he sees a dog he instinctively runs towards it to play regardless of other dogs behaviour towar…

Hi! My husband and I just got Onyx 3 days ago, he is 15weeks old. He and my older puppy Odin (8mo) seem to get along pretty well. The only problem I have with Onyx is potty training him! We have a small area at the back of our house that Odin happily uses as his toilet, but Onyx completely refuses to use it I took him straight after he woke up in the morning, after meals, and after playing but he just won't go. Tried taking him an hour later, still no result.. And then just after I gave up he peed on the floor! I don't understand why he seems to dislike the toilet so much! I know he's older than Odin when I first got him and he can hold his bladde…

I have a female husky that after 6 months of owning her. She still isn't house broken and sneaks off to go pee in the house at random times. She will go weeks with out peeing in the house then out of no where just pee somewhere. Or chew up something. She won't tell me when she wants outside like my older dog. She will tell me when she wants in. She also isn't understanding punishment. She wags her tail everytime I try to correct her. I can never catch her in the act at all. I can't give her blankets or anything cloth related as she will seek and destroy. So long as I'm not looking. I have tried kennelling. She is permanently in the kennel at night now as lately, she…

I have a 4 year old siberian husky named mya. Her food has always been in the kitchen and recently I noticed she wasnt eating. I thought she might have been sick but then I noticed she wouldnt come into the kitchen at all. I moved her food and water and that solved the problem of her not eating or drinking. She still refuses to go anywhere near the kitchen though. Tonight I tricked her into coming into the kitchen through a different door and she froze with fear and started shaking. Shes seriously scared of something in there and I have no idea what. Shes really starting to worry me. Does anyone have any idea why she would be doing this?

Hello! I am the new owner of a 13 week old Husky, Mayzie. She is doing very well. We got her three days ago. I have been very consistent with her and she was doing well with peeing outside, but now today has started to pee in the house...even after we have recently peed outside. I'm wondering if it has something to do with she is very active after her walk and I play with her when we get back in...or should I say I try to redirect her crazy jumping and nipping, etc. She was pooping inside, but now that we are on a scedule and crating she hasn't pooped inside. Help! THanks so much!

Hi, My husband and I have 2 huskies, Molly and Sammy. Both will be turning 6 during the first half of this year. We've had Molly since she was 8 weeks. She's the sweetest, greatest dog, but there have been some changes in her that have me worried. Typically, when the dogs are outside, Molly likes to stay out longer than Sammy. Sammy likes to come in after like 10-20 minutes, then go back outside after another 20 minutes. But, when I want them to come in, they usually do well with responding. If I need some coaxing, I'll say, "do you want a treat?" and their ears will perk up, and they'll come running in. I'll give them a little piece of treat. That was working…

We've had our husky since he was a puppy, he's 5 now and we've never had any trouble getting him to come in. We have a fenced yard so we typically let him roam through out the day as there is someone usually home. The last few nights have been an absolute battle trying to get him to come inside in the evening, and while he's outside he howls and whines. We're very confused about this new behavior he has developed and are not really sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
