Hi all, I’m new to the Husky Owner party! I’ve revently adopted a 5 year old male Husky, Zero.. he’s beautiful and such a good boy! However, he’s recently been separated from a staffy bitch with whom he lived with for 2 years. I’m not sure if the symptoms are coincidental or circumstancual so I’ll just give the symptoms and hope you guys can help: - been off his food for past week or so -runny nose (clear) -infrequent sneezing (mainly when we arrive home or before Walkies) .. we’ve been given such mixed advice that I’m at a bit of a loss, so any help is much welcomed :)) TIA Gen x

Has anyone had any issues with anemia. I just received a puppy who is now 4 months. She looked healthy, was regarded the runt. My uncle went to see her, and we purchased her and had her flown to where I live. Everything looked fine, I had received videos, and pictures from before we got her till before she flew here. We also had all of her shots done before her flight. The flight was about 8 hours. The problem is when she arrived, the vet called us immediately because he noticed she seemed really out of it. She was slow to respond, she even ran head first into the gate. He noticed she had a whole lot of ticks, and fleas, as well as her gums were white. After a few check u…

Hey everyone, After hundreds of Google searches & hours of reading I decided making an account would prove much more helpful & could answer specific questions. Poncho found me June 3rd 2017, She came bumbling out of the woods to me like she had known me her entire existence. My life has never been the same. Malnourished, Tic/flea infested, covered in dirt, mud and Lord knows what else I picked her up, feeling every rib...My main concern was feeding her first & cleaning her up second. The first food I ever gave her was bread, as that was all I had in my bag at that moment (she popped out during a hike) and I wanted to give this poor baby something u…

So I'm just wondering what does everyone feed their precious pups/doggies! ... my pup is kinda on a mix between , veggies/fruits, eggs, meats/fish and kibble. She's doing great on the diet I've got her on and growing well. She's 5 months and she's nice and strong... I'm just curious on what others feed their fur-babies as alot of people disagree with fruits/veg for dogs. No negativity please Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

I recently adopted my husky Manuka. Hes currently 10 weeks old and weighs 7kg. His diet at the moment consists of three meals a day. Breakfast- Two Tbsp of farax (rice cereal) with around 1/4 a cup of puppy milk formula and 1/4 of a Weetbix. Lunch- 50g of boiled chicken thigh fillet, 100g of cooked beef mince with grated carrot, turmeric and cinnamon, 50g of cooked brown rice, 1/2 a sardine, and a sprinkle of cheese Dinner- 150g of cooled beef mince with grated carrot, turmeric and cinnamon, 50g of cooked brown rice, 1/2 a sardine, a sprinkle of cheese, and one egg yolk. My 10 week old husky puppy gets hiccups every single time he eats even if it’s just a small treat when he’s good during training. He doesn’t eat overly fast or anything. I was just wondering if I should be concerned or should be doing anything else to prevent this. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

My puppy Manuka is currently on a balanced raw diet. I have read that kibble should not be fed while raw. But would it be ok for him to have around 10 pieces of kibble as rewards during training? If not what alternative treats would be appropriate? Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Lucy was spade, full op., yesterday morning, so about 36 hours ago. She is doing absolutely brilliant and the wound is clean and nice. Vet said no walks at all for 24 hours, then short walks for the next week. Thing is, what is a short walk? She is gagging to go for a walk, she pretty much walks to heel on a slack lead when it is just the two of us. Our normal evening walk is 5 miles and I have just come back from 10 with Logan. Is the 1.5m round trip to the local too much? She’d get an hours rest half way through and the mental stimulation of being there would help stop her going stir crazy. I’m sure many have been through this, so your thoughts would …

Hey all! New member here! Proud mama of a 5 yr/o red Siberian/Wolf mix, 10 month white Siberian/mix(?) and a 6 yr/o Staffordshire pitBull Terrier. Meeko is our 10 month old, and he was a pound rescue. Question is: why is his fur like this and what can we do to get it not like this? His fur feels like lamb or sheep fur, some places around his spine and face are soft and longer (feels more like how husky fur should feel) We have tried brushing them but it doesn’t seem to do much except just rip everything out and cause him pain. Advice is oh so appreciated!!

would you suggest a turkey or thigh or drumstick for a 50-55lbs? i gave her a thigh last night for the first time and she did fine. shes not a gulper and chews very well, usually gets necks and pork ribs for bones -and just started on chicken wings. but i was wondering if the general consensus would be that a turkey drumstic or thigh would be to big for her? trying to avoid broken teeth

Hi everyone, We just have a few questions about diet for our female husky named Maya, who is 4 and a half months old. Currently we are feeding her Britcare lamb and rice puppy granules for breakfast, lunch and dinner - approximately 75g per serving. However, she constantly seems hungry. We give her treats/dental sticks/other things during the day but we'd like everyones opinion on what they feed their huskies. I know there are many threads that detail diet, but some are from several years ago and things may have changed so it would be great to receive feedback from the community. Also, when is she old enough to be having rice/raw meat and bones? We've …

Hi all, Quick question, I am not overly worried. More curious if anything. All vets are closed and I will call them on Monday just to double check. Am I going crazy? Loki had his C5, Kennel cough and wormer at the vets yesterday. Roughly five hours later he turned into a dangerously hyper active ( zero inhibitions) , loud ( barking excessively when he never has before) , almost aggressive version of himself. Reactive to noises when he never has been before. Super on edge. Went to sleep, woke up same time as usual, had breakfast the normal routine. But was the same over the top version as last night. I am doing all the normal things a…

Hello! We adopted our Husky Tuesday night from our local shelter and he is not doing so well. We have wanted one for quite a while but wanted to adopt a rescue dog so we were waiting until we found one nearby. I grew up with labs my whole life, and we always got them as puppies, so having a 3 year old husky is a somewhat new experience and I feel completely helpless! What I know of his life before us is very little. The Animal Shelter said he was brought in by somebody who found him tied to a tree on one of the country roads, and that he was dirty and starved. They kept him in the lost animals section for nearly a month waiting for an owner to turn up and nobody ever…

as you all know myself and zoe have 5 pups who are 5 weeks old today.... but we don't know how the best way to wean them off willow as we were told they should be weaned off her. they have been eating puppy food and lapping water perfectly but they're still wanting to feed off willow. we are giving willow long breaks from the pups to encourage them to feed themselves which seems to be working but is it ideal to only allow them to feed from mother twice a day? and just feed them puppy food and water the rest of their feeds?

Took Cai and Luka to the vets for flea and worming tabs and had them both weighed, Luka's lost 2kg, he's 42kg now and the vets would like him at 38kg. They're both on raw food so I was a little concerned about getting his diet right, looks as tho we're on the right track, I have to take him fortnightly now. Hi everyone! I've been researching dog food brands and the best option to switch a puppy over after getting him from the breeder. Does anyone have experience or feed their dogs Wellness Core? https://www.amazon.com/Wellness-Natural-Original- Chicken-26-Pound/dp/B000VTTAMY/ref=as_at/?creativeASIN=B000VTTAMY&imprToken=iV03yD8vXIf68SZpeVUOCg&slotNum=12&ie=UTF8&linkCode=w61&tag=cuddleyourdog-20&linkId=5a63354e91df8cee119321bd3fa338ca It's grain free and seems to hit most of the beneficial qualities I've seen in other threads for dog foods. I don't have any interest in going the raw diet path. Also, when training a pu…

Hi, our husky pup (11 months) Luna has a lump on her nose. It appeared earlier today and has started this evening to get worse. Her cheeks are swollen and the lump appears to have moved to the right and swollen to a larger size. We have tried putting ice on it and also gave her an antihistamine and it still isn't getting any better, we are really starting to get worried now. Does anyone know what we could try?
