I think this pdf covers just about everything most of us would need to know about ZRD, it is in three sections 39 pages long - but 'easy' reading. I first came across it as three separate articles in dogs naturally magazine - then found this pdf. One thing I found rather startling is that huskies and Malamutes require a far higher amount of dietary zinc than other dogs - or us. we need about 15mg per day but huskies need a minimum of roughly 1mg per kilo of dog weight - and some need up to 100mg per day. It also goes into the amounts of zinc in around a dozen food types - and I thought that, because of the way I feed my boys - they were gettin…

So my wife and I got a husky and he is now a year and a half old. He has recently started something I've never seen dogs do before. He has started humping the air to the point of exhaustion. It's usually just slow thrusts but the odd thing is he doesn't ejaculate. We haven't tried breeding him or anything and he isn't fixed. He eats about 2.5 cups of taste of the wild wetlands food in the afternoon every day. Any idea why he has started this behavior?

https://go2.thetruthaboutcancer.com/pet-docuseries/episode-3/ Last week I did a post about the docu-series on cancer in pets. I've just watched episode 3 on vaccinations and cancer - I really do think this is worth viewing for everybody. As some of you know I do not believe in vaccination boosters - mine have only ever had the puppy shots. This programme definitely confirms my views. This is only up for about another 12 hours. Bear in mind the people who are being interviewed are vets.

This was a little hard to capture, this sore has shown up on shiloh's face near his mouth. Hes been raw fed since we got him 8 weeks ago, pre made so hes getting a balance of meat, bone & organ (80/10/10). could it be the usual zinc issue? I've started him on 1tsp of kelp today & I'm applying sudocrem to it daily. Thoughts people please? thanks. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Husky Owners mobile app

I'm curious if any other Husky Lovers have had this problem. Our Zeena had a Hematoma on her right ear & luckily the vet was able to sedate & drain without putting a tube in. Now I've just noticed the other ear doing the same. I've had dogs all my life and never saw these problems....so I'm wondering if it's perhaps Husky related? PS...we have appt with Veterinarian in 2 days to check it out & do procedure again if necessary.

Hi there being new to owning a husky we have read up on alot about them. However willow has a problem with her inner thighs. We have treated her for fleas and tics also wormed her. But recently on the 15th day of her heat cycle we noticed a bald spot forming on her inner thighs. We kept a close eye on it for a few days and noticed other areas of baldness. She bites and scratches so much it's now spread across her legs and on her lower stomach as well as around her private area. We have bred her and are just awaiting results of pregnancy. We have had her to the vets which we got antibacterial scrub for her and antibiotics. We have read that this could be also due to a zinc…

https://thetruthaboutpetcancer.com/ https://thetruthaboutpetcancer.com/quiz/?a_aid=5a6ab4b31543d&a_bid=c939a7fc The second link is for a 1 minute long quiz which shows the risk of your dog getting cancer - the first link is a description of the course - with a link to sign up for it (I signed up last week). I've been getting the Vital Animals newsletters for around a year now. My two boys came in the lower category (lowest risk, lower risk, higher risk, highest risk) - for the sake of a minute I think it might be worth answering the questions. I now know where I can lower my boys risk even further The event begins on Wednesday Apr…

My husky Kira (who's one and a bit months) also refuses to eat. We've tried changing the foods, food routine etc, but she refuses to eat. She liked fish (cat food style) mix with dry food but she has gone off that as well. This is my first time on the website and I'm hoping that I can learn what is stopping Kira from eating. Any advice? EDIT: I took her to the vet yesterday and she had an obstruction, as well as shafts of plastic lodged in her tongue (how, I have no idea). Today we've kept her inside and given her a bowl of wet dog food with some antibiotics or something. She is eating better than before and I hope that it will continue to improve. Thanks for the rea…

Invaluable information to help your Husky or Northern Breed Dog with symptoms of Zinc Deficiency. You should not give zinc by itself. There are other vitamins/nutrients that go along to support zinc and its absorbtion. Too much zinc can be very toxic. So please be careful when giving various brands and dosages of Zinc Supplements to your dogs. This article shows zinc level requirements for raw food and dry food. In addition, it explains how much zinc is required per weight of your dog. I hope this information is beneficial. Hi guys - my dog Loki was diagnosed with a zinc deficiency. As you may or may not know this is very common in huskies but very few vets are aware of it. I've supplemented my dog with zinc methionine tablets (60mg daily) but his levels haven't improved. Does anyone have any advice on how to improve them? Thank you

Had Amy back to vet this morning, nothing to do with her recent pancreatitis or campylo bacter!!! Noticed she was limping yesterday, checked her paw and found nothing, then later noticed an oozing little spot on her pad, the vet said it doesnt look like a typical foreign body injury so put her on anti biotics (again!!!)pain killers and rest and have to go back on thursday Obviously I have googled and come back with Alabama Rot!!!! But I am going with the vets and not my over active imagination!! [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Hi Everyone!! I have had huskies for the last 11 years but both of them were boys, sadly no longer with me! My partner and I have rescued a husky x Akita lady from a gentleman in Falmouth who, due to family problems had to give her up. My queries are that I’ve bever had a female dog and her just coming into heat has got me wanting to know more about these times of year for her, more info the better. I know that I have to keep her away from males and that she will leave little spots around the house but at the moment she seems a little quiet than normal, still eating, flesh pink gums and a wet nose, a healthy little girl. I just want a little gui…

I'm hoping that someone here may have the same problem as me and can offer me some helpful advice. Our female husky who will be approaching her 7 year mark with being with us was diagnosed with a skin disorder at almost a year old. Honestly to me it reminds me of cradle cap and has that peculiar odor as well. It flakes dead skin everywhere that you have to brush out with a flea comb to dislodge it from the fur. She constantly digs at herself creating hairless spots, red rashes, scabs, and sores to the point that they bleed. Her hair is no longer lush or gains that thick overcoat, it's almost as if it is weakening and not growing back at all. We have been …

Hello, I would like to know if this is normal, I already asked my vet during his vaccination and she gave me eye drop. But they haven’t been working. Is it some kind of allergy or worst? Should I worry? It’s on both eyes btw.

My husky always acts hungry. He is 4 months old. I feed him 4 times a day. Thrice a day I feed him kibble (2 handful each time). And an egg and a bowl of steamed veggies between each of the three meals. However he is always looking at our faces in anticipation of food. We usually avoid eating infront of him but in case we are, he will jump and ask for food. He weighs 28 pounds at 4 months and somehow I feel he is gaining weight. He is quite active and gets enough exercise daily. We live in the mountains and apsrt from short potty walks we go out for over an hour walk daily where he runs and rolls and jumps. Additionally he plays at home. Am I not doing somethin…

Good day guys and gals... I am in need of some help from the more experienced. I have a Siberian Husky that has some major pain where it looks like is his back or hind legs He is 6 years old and the other day he flipped out in what I can only described and some screaming for their life, he even bit my wife of the amount of pain he was in. He could not walk, rolling on the ground and screaming (I though he was going to die from this agony and suffering) . I had to take him to the ER, they gave him 2 shots of morphing to control the pain. Did 2 X-Rays and couldn’t find anything. They finally sent me home with the prescription drugs of..Gabapentin 100mg, Tramadol 50mg…
