  1. fish oil for omega 3s. dogs need extra in their diet. (even if the bag of kibble says its added it depletes rapidly when the bag is opened, due to the oxygen) Sent from my [device_name] using http://Husky Owners mobile app

  3. if you havent tried you could give some pink eye/polysporin eye drops. (the kind that doesnt burn lol) ive used it alot on dogs. maybe pink eye, dry eyes, irritation/dust/allergens? the drops are worth a try to rule out anything minuscule Sent from my [device_name] using http://Husky Owners mobile app
  4. no no! not at all i actually didnt even realize i 'quoted' your post until after i posted (my phone is very screwy with this app). it just made me think about how my first post sort of came off as pro-tail pulling. where i definately would not advocate it for regular basis thing. so no apologies necessary! i did not know there was the pooping connection though. i will definately be more carefull about it in the future, now that i know that Sent from my [device_name] using http://Husky Owners mobile app
  5. agreed! i forgot to say in my post that i definately dont do it to my dog (or any dog) unless its absolutely necessary to break up a fight. sometimes you cant avoid it in that moment. a good alternative for a runaway dog (if you can reach) is to grab the front of the hind legs like the waist/belly area. -also the safest way to break up a fight lol. 7. i work at a 'free range' type dog camp and have broken up my fair share of fights. if its a dog that i do not trust enough, especially to turn around and nip me in the heat of the moment, i often pull the offender away by the base of the tail. i avoid pulling near the tip, i try to not go lower than 50% of the tail. i feel the end is weaker and more susceptible to dislocations or fractures (especially because i am pulling with force and not just stopping the dog in its track.) i have never physically hurt a dog from what i can tell. we always do a full assessment of the dogs after a fight and i make sure to check the tail, they have never seemed bothered by it. 14. ive been looking at these raised style beds since zen was a puppy, i figured it would be a good option for outside in the summer. last summer she would lay on a pool lounge chair made of similar material at my parents, so i knew this bed wohldnt be a waste. suprise! they went on sale on amazon for almost half price! i looked into the coolaroo brand and they seemed to be pretty high in quality and always near the top of the list when i google these types of beds. the large one was on sale so i got that one. zen is like 56lbs, she can lay and stretch out and still have room to spare! it seems quite sturdy the miracle is she left the couch to go lay on it! (and she's become quite the couch hog!) she loves it! its definately a good buy
