My puppy is 4 months old we got her when she was 3 months. I've read is recommended bathing her once a month to twice a year. I use oatmeal shampoo for her and she doesn't like the bath, but she constantly get this wet dog smell on her and I don't like it. What you guys recommend me to do? I'm a first husky owner, but I had a previous dog before; a mix of ChowChow and Golden Retriever.

Luna's been very itchy since we took her to the groomer like a month ago. We have waited a month to giver her another bath ourselves, but I've been wondering if she could be itchy because of an allergy or something. She also likes to lay down on her bathroom pads peed or not and she loves the grass too and getting wet. Could anything be causing the scratch? I'm sort of allergic to flees so I know is not that because I don't get itchy close her or anything. Sent from my SM-N910T using Husky Owners mobile app

Howyas, I've registered for this site before but I haven't been on it in nearly two years I'd say and can't remember my login details, I've a 6 year old husky called kaiser , as recent as last week a small bit of leakage has started coming from his right eye, it's kind of a brownish colour , it's coming from the corner of his eye, anyone know what it could be? I'll attach a picture of him, now it's not with the leakage in case you are wondering 😂Thanks

Hello, My 1 year old Sibe eats everything he can. Not objects that aren't even food (a chair, for example) but all types of food. He sits patiently waiting at my feet when I eat an orange because he knows he'll get the last segment! Loved citrus as a puppy too, always stole lemons? Also adores all vegetables, tries to steal everything health like tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, even avocado skins! My border collie and Labrador always think they want it too when he's eating whatever it is, but soon realise they really don't like it! I'm wondering if this is normal for huskies? Should I be concerned? Should there be something like this needed in his diet more than oth…

No, Marley does not have it. However because I know it can be prevalent in huskies, and the fact I know nothing of his background, breeding, parents etc, before I get a new pet insurance costing around £20 a month, I wondered at what age can a vet check for it? Marley is coming up on 18 months old so would have thought a vet could check - but I don't know what is involved. Anyone got any ideas??

Hi everyone, I have a 19 month old rescue husky. I have had him for about 6 months now and he is finally starting to settle and behave!!! I walk him twice daily and in the last month or so, I have noticed that he is starting to eat a lot of grass. He stops during his walk and eats grass for a few minutes until I get him going again. I know that dogs normally eat grass to induce vomiting but Sash is not vomiting at all after eating it. He is eating normally, still very active and shows no signs of illness - he does quite often burp after he has eaten his kibble. Is this something I should be worried about?? Maybe there is something going on inside that …

Hi all! Eep its been um heh some time since I visited this lovely place! I cant believe how much this forum has goan and change! I was hoping someone here might have some insight into my Kiana's current medical issues. Long story short we wnet into our vet last thursday to see about getting her hips checked out as she is having some problems. Well we ended up getting some blood tests ran and got some not so fun surprises. My little bear has been hidi g a uti which she is now being treated for but also has high calcium and very low thyroid levels. She is pretty overweight not for lack of trying to shed the pounds and our vet thinks she has a thyroid problem. The calcium le…

Hi could anyone help with this condition? My siberian husky age 9 has developed this condition out of no where, it started on his paw and face, and has now spread, the patch on his head got infected with him scratching and has had 3 different types of antibiotics and it's still present, the vet hasn't got a clue but I've been reading up about zinc deficiency in this breed, I'm just wondering if anyone has had this issue.

Hey guys! New here to the forum. My wife and I are curious to see if the Raw Instinct brand of food (refrigerated at pet stores) is Husky approved or not. We figured it would be, considering Huskies required a high fat and protein diet since they burn tons of energy. This is our new Babygirl, Rogue! 7 weeks old today![/img] Sent from my D6708 using Husky Owners mobile app Sent from my D6708 using Husky Owners mobile app

My husky Blaze turned 17 months earlier this month and it turns out only one of his testicles have come out. His trainer always told me to keep working him out and eventually it will come out. I was really worried and I brought this to my vet's notice. He said that his other testicle is still up and is inactive and it's necessary that we run him through a laparoscopy surgery and remove the other testicle as by the age of 6 or 7 this inactive testicle could become cancerous. He said this is a common something in the Husky breed and if we do mate him in the future there's 50% chance that the puppies would have a similar problem growing up. Has anyone been through something …

After blowing his undercoat Jax has lost 98% of his guard coat too.. I've only seen one person say anything about puppies shedding their full puppy coat at a little over a year old but I guess that's what he's doing. Is this normal that he's shed his outer coat and how long until he grows a new one I wonder. Any feedback at all would be great y'all thanks! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Husky Owners mobile app He feels amazing like all he is is pure soft undercoat right now too by the way. Hi there. I was feeding my male and female pups a high priced dry food. But my male does nothing but poop in his crate all the time. His poop stays consistently runny. My female on the other hand does fine. My husband went to an Iams brand dog food. Does anyone have any experience with Huskies and this brand of food? Any help would be great! Thank you! So, a lot has happened since I've been on here, but the biggest being that I'm strongly considering a Vet change! Some of you know the rocky start Smokey has had with our local Vet and that I then found an awesome vet in a nearby town. Problem is that the once awesome Vet has 'lost' his people skills and is downright rude suddenly. (Not only me, he's losing other clients as well) Firstly, when the dogs went for their yearly booster shots he went all out attack because I buy the deworming tablets online (the same brand he uses). I deworm every 3 months, write it on their charts etc, but he had a very rude attitude, saying that its the law that you have to buy it from h…

I should have got Lucy done already, she had her season mid Jan and our vet advised on waiting 12 weeks before getting her in. Now my earliest opportunity is 20th April. The thing is, that is only three weeks before Husky Camp. Whilst I am sure the external wound will have healed, do you think she would be fine for camp? Lots of long walks etc and I don't want to risk her health. Would it just be far more sensible to put it off until afterwards?
