Do you believe in hybrids? Breeding to make hybrids, selling them, and /or owning them? If yes, what dogs do you think would be best with a Siberian Husky?

Hi everyone, there is allways an up and down to everything, ive read all about the downs, but not heard any happy stories about friends or family or colleagues out there that have sibes who have had a happy, sucessfull birth, is there anyone here who has any positives or is the majority that you should never ever let your sibe have babies. And yes i would love to have my sibey babe have babies and yes that may be selfish, but i am undecided and trying to get a clear decider, so ive decided to do a poll, not on wether my sibe should have babies, as i would not decide that by a poll!!!!!!! I simply want to get an overall idea from experienced sibey babe owners, if all the …

nalla doesnt seem to like it inside anymore since we showed her where her dog house in the back of the yard is. she howls and crys when shes inside but when shes outside shes perfectly content. im not sure what to do anymore. our house is at 72 degreese inside because of our chihuahua and outside is low bof upper 40s and the highs are upper 50s. i dont want to leave her outside since shes such a young pup. but i want her to be confertable. is 72 degrees too hot for a husky? i doubt it but still idk what to do.

Just a quickie, if anyone knows any reputable breeders that arnt too far away from were i live, and have a sibe thats due a litter, ive got plenty of time before neeko would even be ready if i decide to go ahead, so it doesnt have to be immediate just if someone knows of an upcoming litter, would you mind letting me know so i can approuch them about being present at the birth, i dont know as this is even possible, but sarah had this great idea as it would give me first hand experience in to what the breeder and dam go through, thanks everyone.

I'd love to hear any novel ideas on how to exercise your huskies, I jog with mine during the week but would like to try something new- scootering, triking etc. Our huskies pull my husband on a mountain board but this is too fast and requires too much balance  for me so I'm interested in other suggestions??

**** Disclaimer: I have been meaning to post this article for a while. I think it's a worthwhile read for anyone who is considering breeding their dogs. We all know the positive side to breeding, but there are many risks you take when you breed your dog and the article below outlines some of these risks. If you are interested in breeding, and after lots of research and consideration are still keen on doing so, it is worthwhile contacting your local breed club and getting as involved in the breed as possible, and find a reputable breeder to mentor you. **** Many dog lovers will recall the exciting birth scene in the popular Disney cartoon 101 Dalmatian…

can anyone who knows how the k.c works answer this for me, on both occasions when i bought Neeko and Neo, thay were advertised as mom and dad k.c'd but pups arnt, now when i went to look at them i fell in love straight away and also my daughter bonded straight away, whilst I was asking the questions i looked over and my husband and daughter were smitten, both times i was told the moms and dads had had an accident but as both parents were registered it may be possible to kc the pups, but after emailing the people i have had Neeko off I am told that because there were restrictions on Neeko's mom and she had had an accident they do not want to approach the k.c, and this is t…

I wanted to ask if anyone in the community has had experience with what would seem to be very non-typical for a Sibe. My husky Skye is great with other dogs which is definitely not a problem, however, she seems to be completely backward with people. As everyone knows, normally huskies have that temperament that accepts almost everyone including perfect strangers. As I'm new to the forum, some background info might help. I got Skye from a breeder when she was 17 weeks old. Being a first time owner, I'm sad to say I made mistakes in acquiring Skye. I didn't actually get to see Skye on the grounds she was raised on or meet the sire and dam as I should have. Inste…

I have a question about huskies talking (bark). My husky doses not bark or do anything. We try to have her do it for a treat but she has a hard time with this. She some times talks back but not often. Is this normal? Just a concern because she was a rescue and my thought is she must have been abused when she did talk. Any advice would be great. Thanks:awink:

ok so i just got my first husky. well we dont have him YET.. he's still at the pound because they wont let me have him until they clip his... well ya know. he's 2-3 years old and the most beautiful dog ive ever seen. what im worried about though is that i wont be able to keep him in the yard... my fence in the back is concrete blocks on 2 sides and wooden planks on the other... problem is it is only around 5'9? i had thought that would be tall enough but the more i read im starting to worry he'll be able to get over. i get him on wednesday and he wont be out playing a whole lot until he heals up. i went to visit him today for a few hours and for a good portion of th…

I have a little red and white bitch here that came to us in July in season. We thought that she was just a pup, about 7/8 months old but she hasn't grown a single centimetre since she arrived. Vince, my male pup was the same size as her when she arrived, but he has outgrown her long ago. So my thinking was that she was a cross with something small. But, she looks very like a sibe, although her mouth is a little bit different. Another small sibe has now turned up in another rescue, but found on the streets not far from where our Kapik was picked up. This one again was thought to be a pup, but when the vet opened her mouth he was shocked to find a full set of adult te…

If this sounds funny, im really sorry But looking through here I have noticed that all the huskies are only two colors, red/white, black/white, gray/white or solid white. Garres is tri colored, red(tan)/black/white. I saw both of his parents when I rescued him, or so they say they where his parents. Mom and dad where both solid white, but his sisters where other colors. He is also a lot smaller than his family members, height and build wise. He kinda has the build of a German Shep with the coat and characteristics of a husky. (from what i've read and learned) However I am new to the breed and still learning. I've looked online and have n…

Does anyone else experience this? Maddie always falls asleep in the car within 10 minutes. She is out like a light. I have never seen another dog do this before. When I stop, she looks at me as if I am disturbing her. It's really funny.

so i need some help. my husky, russia, loves to run, as most huskys do. usually i take him out at least once or twice a day on my rollerskates so i can keep up. ill run him till he doesnt want to anymore which is usually about 2 to 3 miles. even with all the exercise ill take him out to do his business and he'll pull out of his harness, not just a collar but a harness, and take off running, last night my 2 friends and i were chasing him down for over an hour. does anyone have any suggestions on how i can keep him from running? i understand that its instinctual for huskys but i dont know if ill be able to catch him next time he gets out.

Hello, We just got Kenia and he's 8 weeks old. We We do not know who birthed him. We got him from a family who got him from the breeder. I don't think the breeder was an actual breeder just an owner whose dogs had a litter. And had to sell the pups to move to the mainland. The family we got him from said that he could be registered but didn't know how to go about that. We were told he's purebred sibe. Kenia came with only a bed, and food bowls. No papers at all. He goes for his shots Friday to the vet. What can I do to see if we can get him registered? Is there any type of blood test or anything that the vet can do to register Kenia? And how much would it be ar…
