Exactly as it says on the tin, how much and how many times do you go out each day with your huskies?

Okay Guys..... recommendations required Nanook, He's a big lad for his age (just gone 2) but he is powerfully strong and boisterous He doesn't 'work' never tried him though my god he would have the pulling strength.. But... For walking he wears his harness and takes me on the end of his 6ft lead {its a harness from Jollye's the one that supposed to prevent pulling! LOL) Nanook gets 3-4 mile walks and he will pull for the duration now i'm not just talking slight pulling with no slack in the the lead....he pulls to the point i'm having to take grip of the lead with both hands (both of which lose all circulation ) and by no means do we walk slow b…

Today I left Ruska in crate for few hours. She has started few fights in short period and against my earlier precept I put her in the isolation to calm the situation down. I had a bad conscience about crateing her, and whole work day went so wrong. Well..A moment ago I came to home. And surprisingly both of the dogs were in the living room. Very happy and wagging their tails. And this was the result what I found in the kitchen: Maybe I don´t try this solution never again!

Myshka is 4.5 yrs old, her routine hasn't changed much in all that time, except I have recently (6 weeks ago) returned to work after being signed off for 5 months. I went back part-time for 4 weeks then full time. Since last Thursday, Myshka has "cried" & been restless, wanting more hugs than usual, cries to go out & 5 seconds later, cries to come in again! This lasted about 1.5 hrs the first day, till Sat night, when we were away & my son dog-sat, she was still whinging & wining at 2 am (I know cos my son text me! ). She finally settled at 3am, but was off again at 8am & on & off throughout the day. She is eating, drinking, …

I'm looking for an easy to hook-up harness for sky can pull around a sled or a wagon and eventually me on rollerblades or something. this one i found here seems to look good with a D ring on both sides and a handle http://www.siberian-husky-dog-breed-store.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=147 what do you think? As for the leash, i recently got sky a Rok straps leash. It seems they make bungee-like straps for tying stuff down but they also make them into a kick-ass leash. the main body of the leash is stretchy so it absorbs any sudden pulling. it has a nice big handle at the top and down by the latch the leash…

Hi guy's. We brought Saber home today, here is the little fella: http://yfrog.com/5ui...85201001232042j As we got home around 5:30pm and he had a feeding at 1:30/2pm we decided to feed him inside of his crate as soon as we got in. He walked into the crate after his food and water and finished them off. After allowing him to sniff around for a few minutes and leaving the door open i closed the crate door. He bang to whine and howl and eventually settled down and after 15/20 minutes i opened the door to take him potty. I put him on the leash, which he hated lol. He would not move with it. After a little persuasion we got him near…

Red-white husky is Ruskas mother Luna, grey-white is her father Rölli. Black-white her sister Milla and mild red husky Bolt is her brother. In video you can see also our landscape in Finland. So much snow in this winter! (The man is singing about his loved one, who is living in siberia. How much he miss her and how lonely he is without Ekaterina etc.)

Have noticed a few people mentioning meeting at them, but never used one before. I get the impression they do pretty much whats said on the tin. Is there a list of the parks on line or is it just by local knowledge? If so could we maybe start a list of the parks by area? xxx

Hey everyone! I was just wondering your thoughts in microchipping. We were thinking about doing this as a safety precaution just in case Pongo escapes. Just wondering if it was worth it or not.

Hi guy's, My name is Tom, first of all i want to say hello to everyone on the board. I have been reading this site for over a year now while i pondered weather a Husky was the dog for our family. I'm sure you'll be glad to know that it is. We will be bringing home our Puppy boy this Saturday, i've been reading up on all the essentials needed, i.e crate, collars, toys and etc. Would love to thank everyone here for all the hard work and information that every member contributes. This forum is awesome and amazingly helpful. My question is in regards to the routine i should establish for my pup. He will be 7 weeks old, has been wormed and vetted but i'll…

Despite all preexisting rules i got one with a little second generation wolf?! Welcome Renesemee to the Thompson Pack. Renesemee parents was Siberians with the Father being pure Siberian and the mother being half wolf half Siberian. Her Grandfather was pure Timber wolf and her grandmother pure Siberian. Well after talking to my old man and doing research we decided to allow this exception. One because she is a female and the aggression are more known with male hybrids more than female, secondly because she is not first generation hybrid but second, and finally because we got her at 7 weeks hold. Young enough to correct and prevent any bad behavioral mishaps and cle…

So...I have to ask... If your dog was protecting your home naturally and never harmed anyone, Would you stop your dog from protecting your home? Chewy barks at strangers and I really think he has decided that protecting the house is his job. To me this means he feels loved and well cared for so hes just doing what a great dog does to show he appreciates the love he gets and wants to return the love. I dont really like that Im having to stop him from doing it, but apparently dogs who bark are now considered a threat to people everywhere...

As most of you know we recentl adopted our little girl Vixen, she came with her vaccination certificates and though she isnt kc registered there is info on her 5 generations. Fabulous I thought, means I can make her a little family tree document to go with the one we have for Shadow (if I get round to printing it !!!) However I have sat and looked t it tonight and its not the most complete document you could hope for. So I have spent the past few hour researching through varying places making sure I have the right spellings and Champ descriptions for her kin. One side of her family has been easy to confirm as it looks to be a straight mix between Zoox and Skimarque lines…

Hey guys ive got an awsome 8 month sibe who we got at 8 weeks and she loves playing with other dogs as she spent the first 5 months we had her living with another dog ( a jack russell ).We have recently moved and although she gets loads of time to play with neighbours dogs (two staffys and a sibe/malmut cross) she hates it when my wife and I go out and howls and scratches so we would like to get another dog as a companion we planned on getting another sibe but know that as a breed they are known to have separation anxiety so didn't think getting another would solve the problem. So my question is what breed would be a good companion for my sibe? Many…

To make a long story long: I've been saving up, and the time has come to fence our back yard for the boys to enjoy. One reason for this is that they love being outside, and we have a big enough yard that they could really run and play. Main reason is that Tim is severely allergic to Dakota. Obviously, he's allergic to dogs in general, but Dakota just makes gobs of dander, moreso than Nik, that it has gotten very, very, bad, in spite of our fleet of top-quality HEPA filters, HEPA vacuum, anti-allergen home cleaning products, and daily Allerpet-D and moisturizing wipes, salmon oil and other supplements for Dakota (still waiting to see the effect of the latest sup…

Blaze is nearly 16 months now and his tail has either got longer so it curls more or his curl has got tighter it seems 2 curl over n dangle on his side most ov the time when hes walking now and if its not on the side its deffinately touching his back - is he still growing at this age? (i thought he wudda stopped by now n just start 2 fill out instead) or is it just his tail? lol ill try and get a pic l8a so u can see

Hi all, my wife and I have a 16 month old male Sibe 'Kaiser', he's been with us for 5 months and has settled in well. He's the first Sibe we've had, previously having a border collie and he's the first puppy/teenager we've had, we got our collie in her later years. Now Kaiser is no angel, he chews, digs holes, runs about like he's on acid and isn't particulary well trained but for us he's come a long way from when we got him and responds to simple commands and will stop when told. He has a kennel in the garden and spends the day on a 10 metre lead attached to a runner giving him access to 90% of the garden, when I get home from work he comes in and lives/s…
