And last time around 4 months he was 15 kg (33lb) he probably weighs more now , he sure got taller too Many people say he is too thin . The thing is he is eating very much and he doesnt show any health issues. You may not be able to see from this photos . He is very fluffy , which is making this even harder .

Hi, Luna is now 9 1/2 months and she’s our pride and joy. She’s turned into an amazing dog and best friend. The past few days her left eye has had some grey coloured discharge coming near her year duct. Mainly after sleeping at night but during the day too. Yesterday we noticed this lump on her eyelid. We are going to take her to the vets today but was wondering if anyone had any ideas to what it could be and if it’s related to the discharge? Thanks Amanda

Hi, so my boy Bronn is 5 months old and has 2 beautiful blue eyes. Those eyes have been giving us trouble since we got him. According to an eye specialist he has a viral infection in his eye that regulars drops 3 times a day for the next couple of weeks. More recently, the pigment of the white part of his eyes seems to becoming abit brown on both eyes. The eye specialist dosent think it’s a concern but something feels wrong. They are not bothering him nor is he acting any different. Has anyone seen this in their dogs eyes? Or am I right to be concerned? Any advice is welcomed!

I never thought or even heard of dogs having heartburn. During my journey of figuring out what my pups allergies and intolerances are, I have discovered my male gets sever heart burn. He is and always has been gassy. I am talking about burping like an adult that has chugged a few beers. Passes gas’s that clears the room. But there has been a few random vomits. All stomach acid no flim. Yellowish green stinky stuff. The other night he was doing a reverse sneeze but it was coming from the throat. No noise from the nose. Then had like hiccups in his throat. Then throw up around 4 am. He acted fine other then that... I reached out to my nutrit…

So, my husky is currently shedding, we adopted him from a shelter and the first six months of shedding his coat looked very nice. We've had him for almost 2 years now and the more he sheds the worst his coat looks, it gets very patchy and less of a solid color. He gets really dark spots and then some lighter, more blonde spots and he is very young, three this year. I want to know if this is normal, also if I can do anything besides brushing like using a certain shampoo or taking him to the groomer more often and seeing if that will help. Let me know.

Currently awaiting vet appointment for Gwynne. Yesterday she refused her Dentastick in the morning, unknown. Since then she has rapidly deteriorated. She has severe diahhrea, is very lethargic which, most of you will know, is certainly not Gwynne. This morning she still has the diahhrea and has started to lose the use of her legs. We originally thought it might have been sunstroke but she hasn't really been in the sun. We have segregated her from the rest of the pack to try to help keep her comfortable. Vet appointment is for 12 noon. 🤞

I met a lady walking a Jack Russell who was wearing what she described as a cool coat because she said he panted a lot on warm days and now he doesn’t. I’ve looked them up and it had me wondering if it would be a worthwhile investment for Luna. I’m walking her between 7-8 am and she’s fine when we set out but by the time we are on the way back she is panting a lot. My fingers in her coat find heat right down to her skin so I’m not sure about her coat keeping her cool. Has anyone else used something similar on their husky, was it effective? It would cost about £70, not a lot but a fair bit if it’s not going to be useful. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/dog-food-causing-heart-disease-fda-suspects-citing-16-dog-food-brands-under-investigation/ has anyone else read about this? I just learned it and I feed mine taste of the wild which has the 3rd highest number of reported cases. It kinda concerns me to the point where I’m thinking of switching. Anyone have any suggestions to what food to switch to from taste of the wild?

Hey guys, Kai is having some serious GI issues that are due to food. I used to feed him TOTW - High Prairie, but the vet asked me to switch it due to concerns over new research suggesting that grain free foods (specifically, those with peas) are leading to dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs that are not prone to it. Now I'm feeding him Purina ProPlus Focus - Large Breed (Chicken and Rice). This has not been going well, and I need to find something better. I've considered going RAW. Unfortunately I can't afford it both financially and logistically. I'm a medical student, so time and money are at a premium. I would prefer to spend time exercising Kai. So, I'm co…

Earlier today I was giving my my 8 year old sibe a bath when I noticed that there was blood coming from her anal area. Upon inspection I saw a little blood blister like thing in the 2 o'clock position( this one was slightly swollen) and then some other very small but similar spots at what seemed to be the 7pm position. The area wasn't hard or stiff. I proceeded to finish the bath and I walked her for about a mile as well, immediately after. I then took her to the vet and they checked her out. They said everything seemed normal internally. She's kept her appetite, drinks water normally, her stool was completely normal meaning no discoloration or blood and no diarrhea. Th…

I been having him for about 3 weeks now and the owner said he was at 6 weeks when I got him he's only grown very little to nothing. I took him to the vet not too long ago and he had round worms he's goteen rid of them now with the medicine they gave me he's been 4 days since and now he's really playful but I'm still worried about his size considering he's only about 3-5 pounds he's tiny he eats and seems he gained some weight but seeing other puppies his age are alot bigger than he is any ideas on how I can increase his growth?

I'm currently feeding my 5 month old pup Taste of Wild High Prairie and the back of the bag says at 5 months 30 lbs he should be getting 3 cups a day. So I started doing so and after about a week he's noticeably bigger and doesn't run up the stairs how he used to. Just want some suggestions on if that's normal or how much I should be feeding him. Here's a current photo I just took

Good afternoon, This is the first time I own a Husky so I am not sure if I am overreacting or if this is completely normal. I got Helga when she was 9-10 weeks old and I was told she was eating Chow Chow dry food. I honestly do not like that food very much so I switched to Hills for puppies and she devoured it but after a little while she ate less amount to nothing. At first I thought it was the food so I got a small package of Orijen for puppies and she ate but mot much. Now we are to the point where she does not eat. I have also mixed dry and wet food and she gives a few licks, maybe a spoon but not more. Her spirit has not changed, she is very playful and talks a…

Hello! Emma has started to lose her baby teeth and she has two bumps on each side of her top goal and what it looks like to be on top of the most recent teeth she’s lost. I’ve read online about cancerous bumps but doesn’t seem like the ones I’ve seen online. I have an appointment for the vet in a couple of days but I’m worried. I was hoping someone can shed some light here. Thank you guys in advance

Hello! I have a male adult husky who is 2 and half years old. We recently weighed him because he seemed a little under weight. He’s always been small and his weight wasn’t terrible (42 pounds) so only 3 pounds under the recommended weight. I do suspect he has worms and I’m taking him to get checked and for meds. My real concern is that I can feel his spine and hip bones. If he’s only a couple pounds under weight, then why can I feel his bones? I’m going to ask the vet if he’s okay obviously. But I want some opinions from others who own huskies. He eats 1 1/2 cups twice a day although some days he barely touches his food, which I’ve read can be normal for huskies.

My girl Freya has a bald spot on her chest, I noticed it whilst bathing her, she hasn’t been itching but it the outside of the spot has what looks like reddish brown dried blood bits in it - is this mange?? Only thing is, she’s not been itching it & her sisters haven’t got it, so I’m thinking it’s not mange as isn’t it contagious?? Any ideas? This is the best picture I can get of it — also she’s wet from a bath.

Hello all! So it’s a long story but I need to change my 8 week old pups diet abruptly. Unfortunately I can’t do it gradually like I wanted. I know abrupt change causes diarrhea. What can I do to help minimize the diarrhea? I’ve heard probiotics help but was wondering if there was anything else I can do. Thanks!

I know what you will all think, from the title, straight away. All huskies go through periods of not eating but they'll not starve themselves. Unfortunately this one seems to be doing just that. All the other dogs are eating and are all fit and healthy. This one will not eat. The owner has tried all types of different foods to try and coax her to eat and she just turns her nose up. She has, very begrudgingly, taken little tiny bits every now and then but nowhere near enough to keep her healthy. She has been checked by the vets and they have said that there is nothing wrong with her, as in blockages or anything that would prevent her getting food down, and she is just bein…

Luna has been very sick, started when I went to get her to move from the shelter so I could let my hens out, she wasn’t keen to move. She did eventually but then refused to go for her walk, very unusual. Left her under the honeysuckle, came home later, gave her a water bowl, 5 minutes later returned to find she’d vomited in it and round it. Eventually decided she looked unwell so took her to the vet who took blood and said all her kidney results were out of whack, gave antibiotic injection, pain relief and sent us home with several different meds. I was up at 5am today and started syringing water into her mouth because she’s not had any or any food nor had she urinated. S…

ok i was browsing a shop looking for dog toys and hit on https://www.poundland.co.uk I found they are selling cooked hambones as dog treats as we all know ham/pork products are bad for dogs worse cooked bones they state on the product info """" Ham bone is absolutely ideal to feed as a treat or reward as part of a balanced diet. """" which we all know is not true I contacted poundland and they basicly said we have never had a complain about these. The fact that Vet addvice is never feed these to your dogs means nothing to them I contacted DEFRA and they passed the buck to APHA who passed the buck again to trading standerds. I think it is disgu…

I've been meaning to post this for a while, we thought it would be helpful to someone at sometime in the future. This is purely here as reference 🤓. The email is a little long so I'll also summarise as well. We wanted to ensure our girls were in good health as they get older, so we looked at getting some natural remedies to help them along. It turns out that some types had an adverse affect on one of our Huskies, they can block the absorption of Zinc and resulted in some nasty issues. All is good now, but as mentioned above we felt this was something that needed sharing, just in case someone else came across it. On a plus note, I was very impressed with the owners of…
