HI, as I'm new to huskies I'm just after your thoughts. My girl Tala is coming up to ten weeks old now and is fed on puppy kibble, I intend to keep her on adult kibble when she is old enough but I have pretty much unlimited access to fresh salmon heads and was thinking about supplementing the kibble with salmon heads, is this a good idea?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody has ever had the same problem I am facing. My husky is 1.5 years old and for the last 6 months has had nasal discharge in the form of smelly green snot. I know, charming. I brought her to the vet and she was given a round of antibiotics and they did not work. The vet thought maybe something is lodged in her nose but nothing. Nobody seems to know what is wrong. The weird thing is that she will start to improve then suddenly get it again in about 3 week intervals. She is not lethargic and has not lost her appetite. Any ideas what could be wrong?

I've been saying (jokingly) for around 9 months that Lunar had doggie dementia - it was confirmed last month. It does not help that he is also rapidly going deaf. During the day he sleeps the sleep of the dead, almost impossible to wake him (and its not worth it when we do) but at night he is pacing constantly, panting heavily and whining. For the last week hubby has been going to bed at 6pm to try and get some sleep, then when I go to bed he comes downstairs to stay with Lunar and tries to get a little sleep on the settee. He sometimes gets around an hour between 12 - 3am if he is lucky - but he usually has to take the dogs out for a walk around 3am …

Its taken 4 1/2 months, four rounds of different antibiotics, probiotics, prebiotics, healthy dog gut bacteria, testing, re-testing, £2,960 (and counting) but yesterday his last test came back free of salmonella! Have another appointment on Monday with his usual vet - now we can tackle the ulcers properly (not bleeding any more) - get stuff to get rid of the H pylori completely (the bacteria that causes ulcers), - next its the leaky gut to heal totally - have already been doing this throughout his treatment using colostrum, grass fed beef bone broth and goats milk kefir - and Marley's other (homeopathic) vet will be able to give me some stuff I am sur…

TMy 9 month old husky is going in to get spayed next week. The vet also recommended a rear dew claw removal at the same time. Her rear dew claws are loose and floppy, and have gotten caught on things in the past but never to the point of injury (just her typical dramatic reactions 😂) however, I still am on the fence about the procedure. I would hate to see her hurt, but I also don’t like the idea of chopping off parts of her... do rear dew claws have a purpose? Is it worth the risk to keep them verse having them removed when she’s already under for the spay? Any tips or thoughts are welcome!!

Hi, Can you tell me if this is normal (see pic below) Luna has lost the majority of her puppy teeth. She is currently 5 months and 1 week old. However her two top adult canine teeth have started to grow but the puppy ones are still at the side of the adult ones and the one in the pic shows that the adult one has pushed the baby one out of the gum (you can see the root I think). Ignore the dark coloured stuff, that’s soil from the garden. Is this normal and will the tooth just fall out? Thanks Amanda

Hello everyone! As i mentioned in my introduction topic, my little buddy Odin is currently eating Acana puppy and junior. But the store i get it from at a reasonable price has stopped selling it. They offered alternatives but i don't know if I should switch him or continue to get Acana elsewhere at a much higher price that is stretching my budget. So the brands they offer are Purizon and Wolf of the wilderness. Both brands puppy food is 5% less caloric by the kg than acana but have similar ingredients. If anyone has any tips i would appreciate it

🛑help🛑 Hey! I am feeding my dog the good amount of food and he gets walks and all that stuff but I’m still wondering if he is fat? Or if he’s just a little husky? Or if he’s fine?

🛑Help🛑 I know I already posted something on this but I just went to the vet to weight him. so my dog is 23/24 inches to the shoulders and he weights a whopping 74 pounds he doesn’t look that fat but I’m not sure. Would it be fine to give him a cup less food? 1/2 less in the morning and 1/2 less at night?

Help, We adopted a 3yo last week and it is becoming apparent that the previous owner fed her from the table. We cannot get her to eat her kibble, we are trying the high protein Nuturo and when we first bought it she took a couple of bites and that was it, we have tried mixing a can of wet in and a scrambled egg and nothing seems to work, she will go over and sniff it and then she walks away and lays down. But, as soon as we take a pan out to start cooking our dinner she is right there in the kitchen under foot intently staring at what we are making. We are starting to run out of ideas to get her to eat and we are getting a little worried that she is not eating. Help?

As some of you guys know, my girl has been on restriction for the past three weeks from her last knucklehead move of breaking her tooth and needing a tooth extraction 😖. We have had almost 9 feet of snow up in the hills in the past 48 hours and more to come. Had about 4 inches here but has melted from all the rain. 🥺 I was so hoping to have the pups ready to go up and play by now. But since she had torn out her stitches only 4 days after surgery, it really slowed down the healing and we do not have the go ahead to go up to play. But we were oked to do short trainings outside. They love their new harnesses! Now if I can get them ok with being lined together…

Hello My name is Mark and my husky is named Ty and I’m new to this site. I was wondering if he was to skinny and if I was feeding him enough. He’s 8 months old and last I checked he was 40+ pounds. I feed him 1 1/2 cups of food and I feed him twice a day. So every day I’d feed him 3 cups of food. Also his food is the Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy w/ chicken in the blue bag

Hi, My question is can you use dog wipes to clean your dogs intimate areas. Is it safe to use or should I buy a flannel cloth and use some of her puppy shampoo mixed with water to give her a wipe there? Or just use water with the cloth? Thanks Amanda

I had to get fish this month as they didn’t have any chicken left (his usual raw diet). He’s been on this diet for 3 years and had no problem so I’m guessing the change to fish is causing this wheezing/cough. It’s happened very rarely in the past but now it’s happening quite a lot. Should I be concerned/go to the vets? He’s happy as can be and looks healthy all the time apart from these 10-20 second episodes 30DBF202-2F6C-45BD-B0CE-C95B256727E8.MOV
