Hi guys, my boy has recently been irritated by a red type rash around his paws and a small amount around his chops. It's not majorly bothering him but it has been a couple of weeks now and the problem has not gone away. Can anyone recommend some remedies to clear this up before I make an extortionate trip to the Vets?

I am lucky enough to have a very committed raw food supplier within 10 miles of me - supplying extremely high grade food - and always thinking of Marley's allergies - she contacted me a few days ago about the company below. I have been in touch with them and they can guarantee their venison and lamb is suitable for Marley (and therefore Mikey - cannot feed them differently) https://www.naturaw.co.uk/ Only use British meat, - Full breakdown of % content plus full detailed list of any ingredients, - Defra approved - all human-grade meat. They pack the food containers in natural wool to keep cold. Species appropriate raw food. No grains, chea…

When we adopted Nora the breeder said that since she was 16 weeks she only needed one set of puppy shots. The reason they give three sets usually is because when a breastfeeding puppy gets the shot the mother’s immunity will render the vaccine useless. Nora was immunized at 16 weeks with the 5and1 shot and rabies two weeks later. Previously, I had been told that Nora was fine and was planning to immunize her again at the one year booster. Now the vet is acting strange about her records and I am wondering if she will have to be vaccinated again. I don’t want to give her more shots if she doesn’t need them since my last dog(pit/husky) died of cancer at the immuniz…

I was petting Nikko and found a small lump the size of a grape by his “armpit” area under his right front leg. It was soft and moving around so hoping that it’s not a serious issue. His behavior and appetite hasn’t changed at all. We are going to the vet Sunday. He had a checkup in June and it wasn’t there and I hadn’t noticed it before. I did some research and it seems to be common in older Dogs and he is 8 years old. Hoping it’s nothing to worry about

Hello all! I am new here but hoping to get some advice. I have a 4yr old Husky named Zero. She is due to whelp her first litter in the next few days and although I have whelped many litters in the past (used to work for a handler), I am not a breeder and she is my first Husky. She has her whelping box all sorted out and seems happy with it. I have not checked for a temp drop yet but she has refused all food since yesterday morning and she is pacing and panting and whining off and on so I think we’re close. Are there any specific concerns or problems I should be looking for with huskies? My vet is closed until Monday so if she goes into active labor in the net two days, I…

ProI have two female huskies that are two years old. They're sisters from the same litter and I feed them Purina Beyond Naturals dry dog food (chicken and rice formula). They are fed 1 3/4 cup of food twice a day. One of them throws up on a regular basis and when I asked the vet about it she said to feed them three times a day. Unfortunately, both myself and husband work during the day so that's not entirely possible to do that. I'm sure I'm not the only husky owner that faces this issue of working and not being able to do something like this, but I need a solution. She has plenty of energy, lots of water, and exercise. Issue number two is that no matter what, both …

Hi, Teddy (10yrs old male) was just diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). His symptoms are basicly weak and barely eating/drinking and moving. He received vetmedin and furosemine (diuretic) yesterday. Yesterday he ate a little bit. This morning he just drank a bit water and did not eat. My question is, what are your experiences with this disease and medicine? I am very worried.

Hey all, first of all sorry if this is the wrong part of the forum to post in. I haven't been on here in a very long time probably many, many years. My Husky Malamute called Flash is almost 10 years old. Until March this year he was a super chilled but stubborn doggy. He had torn both his cruciate ligaments about a year apart from each other so had several months of recovering from that and of course that meant some arthritis as he has gotten older and definitely difficulty moving around but he still wanted to play and go out etc; then at the end of March he stopped eating, drinking and was lifeless. He was having trouble walking and so we took him to the …

Hi there again- I am new to this forum. I wanted to ask everyone if you have had any experience with a white, oily residue with your husky? Misty is mid coat blow right now and I've noticed that she has developed this white-ish residue that transfers onto my fingers when I pet her. Theres no smell and its not clumping up or really even visible other than on my fingers after I pet her. She had a bath about 3 weeks ago to try and aid the coat blowing. Anyone have any thoughts or experience? I've googled it but really haven't come up with anything. Is she simply just in. need of a bath again? I've read some conflicting info regarding baths; some people say only about twice a…

Hi all, just wondered if anyone else had experienced their boys and gals having a reverse sneeze episode. Phoenix does this every now and then when excited but this evening on our walk have about 6 episodes in about 30 minutes of being out. It resolved itself within seconds but not sure if I should be calling the vet. Her breathing goes back to normal and looks like it never happened. I have checked her nose and mouth and nothing obvious seems to be causing any irritation to her. Also wondering if it could be the change in weather as is turned a bit nippy and she was going from indoors to outside. Any advice would be greatly appreciated or if anyone else ha…

Hi I have a 70 pound Husky/ Malamute and a 30 pound husky. How much should I be feeding them? I usually give Maximus (husky/mally) 2 cups a day and Leia 1 cup. My family believes they should be eating more, but I was told Max doesnt need anymore that about 780 calories (which for his food is about 2 cups). I am unsure how much food they should be eating.

Have any of you looked at your dogs 💩 and scratched your head and went 🤷🏻♀️? Has your dog ever vomited randomly in the middle of the night or early morning? Was your response O dogs will be dogs, dogs have random diarrhea and vomit sometimes? Does your pup scratch a lot? Sometimes there is no scratching and then all of a sudden it is a chewing/scratching fit? If your answers were yes to these then hopefully this will help. Here is some information that your vet either does not know or does not want to tell you. *Not all vets are bad. I love my vet and are personal friends with a few. So don’t take this wrong.* Leaky gut starts when they are baby babi…

Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the help with the hand biting. Loki is now 9 months old, he has been eating TLC puppy food since we got him. He does well on that, good large stools although a bit loose and he goes usually twice in the morning, once at lunch and once after dinner. I was thinking about keeping him on the TLC dog food but it is expensive (not that that is an issue). I was wondering what everyone thought as to a good dry food to give him, we are not a big fan of the wet food. Thank You in Advance Tom S

So last sunday I went over to walk the dogs and my mum happened to mention one of the dogs had dripped what we thought was poop at the time on the floor (Blaze has had a bit of an upset stomach so we thought it maybe was that) however my mum mentioned Skylas back end was 'dirty' too, so I got one of our dog brushes and brushed her fluffy butt , ok weird that doesnt look like poop to me (and yes it didn't smell like it either) I then noticed after that skyla was licking herself ALOT so I had a look and OMG her vulva was swollen to extremes! I also noticed blood and so assumed the dripping was actually some sort of discharge , I was freaking out so got her into the vets abo…

We have been breeding Siberian Huskies for the past 5 years and have owned huskies including a sled team for over 25 years. This week I was contacted by a owner from our last litter that his puppy who is only 3 months old had a seizure, actually 3 that day/night. We have never had a husky or previous puppy who has experienced this. I was devastated - especially since I’ve never experience this with one of my Huskies I was told Busky’s first one happened about 30 minutes after playing in some leaves. Any thoughts out there as to why this might of happened?

Well, my poor girl is having an issue. Sometime between 3AM and 6AM Wednesday morning they ate one of their dog beds. Since I didn’t catch it within the 30 minutes I decided to do the wait and see. My pups have passed some weird stuff and stuffing before. Plus, it’s normally the boy that has the issues and she has always been my iron stomach pup. Go figure it’s Friday the 13th and we have a full harvest moon tonight. (I am not superstitious just got a giggle out of it) She threw up dinner and just dumped straight water. 🤦🏽♀️ Acting very sluggish. I examined her for a blockage and haven’t felt anything and the pulse in the back is good. No fever e…

I typed the following in word as my computer is playing up so may come up as being copied and pasted - which it is. MARLEY IN TROUBLE Background - A week last Monday Marley went in to have a deep re-occurring cyst removed. On Wednesday the dissolvable stitches started dissolving and it all burst open so he had to go back under anaesthetic to have it re-stitched properly; Took Marley into the vets this morning to have his stitches out, when they unwrapped him the vet (think Locum as I have never seen her before) pulled the hair/fur away instead of soaking it away - and pulled the wound open again - she removed all stitches – including the sub…

Help! I am getting an 8 week old Husky in a couple weeks and I am a 1st time Husky owner! I have been doing a ton of research on what type of food to start her out on. I understand that a puppy formula is the best option (correct me if I'm wrong). I have been looking at Eagle Pack. Is the Eagle Pack Large Breed Puppy food a good option? I am open to any other dry food options. Also, is 2 cups a day spread out to 3-4 feedings a good place to start? https://www.eaglepack.com/product-orignal-dog.aspx?product=82 I appreciate the help!
