Hi all, just wondered if anyone else had experienced their boys and gals having a reverse sneeze episode. Phoenix does this every now and then when excited but this evening on our walk have about 6 episodes in about 30 minutes of being out. It resolved itself within seconds but not sure if I should be calling the vet. Her breathing goes back to normal and looks like it never happened. I have checked her nose and mouth and nothing obvious seems to be causing any irritation to her. Also wondering if it could be the change in weather as is turned a bit nippy and she was going from indoors to outside. Any advice would be greatly appreciated or if anyone else ha…

Hi I have a 70 pound Husky/ Malamute and a 30 pound husky. How much should I be feeding them? I usually give Maximus (husky/mally) 2 cups a day and Leia 1 cup. My family believes they should be eating more, but I was told Max doesnt need anymore that about 780 calories (which for his food is about 2 cups). I am unsure how much food they should be eating.

Have any of you looked at your dogs 💩 and scratched your head and went 🤷🏻♀️? Has your dog ever vomited randomly in the middle of the night or early morning? Was your response O dogs will be dogs, dogs have random diarrhea and vomit sometimes? Does your pup scratch a lot? Sometimes there is no scratching and then all of a sudden it is a chewing/scratching fit? If your answers were yes to these then hopefully this will help. Here is some information that your vet either does not know or does not want to tell you. *Not all vets are bad. I love my vet and are personal friends with a few. So don’t take this wrong.* Leaky gut starts when they are baby babi…

Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the help with the hand biting. Loki is now 9 months old, he has been eating TLC puppy food since we got him. He does well on that, good large stools although a bit loose and he goes usually twice in the morning, once at lunch and once after dinner. I was thinking about keeping him on the TLC dog food but it is expensive (not that that is an issue). I was wondering what everyone thought as to a good dry food to give him, we are not a big fan of the wet food. Thank You in Advance Tom S

So last sunday I went over to walk the dogs and my mum happened to mention one of the dogs had dripped what we thought was poop at the time on the floor (Blaze has had a bit of an upset stomach so we thought it maybe was that) however my mum mentioned Skylas back end was 'dirty' too, so I got one of our dog brushes and brushed her fluffy butt , ok weird that doesnt look like poop to me (and yes it didn't smell like it either) I then noticed after that skyla was licking herself ALOT so I had a look and OMG her vulva was swollen to extremes! I also noticed blood and so assumed the dripping was actually some sort of discharge , I was freaking out so got her into the vets abo…

We have been breeding Siberian Huskies for the past 5 years and have owned huskies including a sled team for over 25 years. This week I was contacted by a owner from our last litter that his puppy who is only 3 months old had a seizure, actually 3 that day/night. We have never had a husky or previous puppy who has experienced this. I was devastated - especially since I’ve never experience this with one of my Huskies I was told Busky’s first one happened about 30 minutes after playing in some leaves. Any thoughts out there as to why this might of happened?

Well, my poor girl is having an issue. Sometime between 3AM and 6AM Wednesday morning they ate one of their dog beds. Since I didn’t catch it within the 30 minutes I decided to do the wait and see. My pups have passed some weird stuff and stuffing before. Plus, it’s normally the boy that has the issues and she has always been my iron stomach pup. Go figure it’s Friday the 13th and we have a full harvest moon tonight. (I am not superstitious just got a giggle out of it) She threw up dinner and just dumped straight water. 🤦🏽♀️ Acting very sluggish. I examined her for a blockage and haven’t felt anything and the pulse in the back is good. No fever e…

I typed the following in word as my computer is playing up so may come up as being copied and pasted - which it is. MARLEY IN TROUBLE Background - A week last Monday Marley went in to have a deep re-occurring cyst removed. On Wednesday the dissolvable stitches started dissolving and it all burst open so he had to go back under anaesthetic to have it re-stitched properly; Took Marley into the vets this morning to have his stitches out, when they unwrapped him the vet (think Locum as I have never seen her before) pulled the hair/fur away instead of soaking it away - and pulled the wound open again - she removed all stitches – including the sub…

Help! I am getting an 8 week old Husky in a couple weeks and I am a 1st time Husky owner! I have been doing a ton of research on what type of food to start her out on. I understand that a puppy formula is the best option (correct me if I'm wrong). I have been looking at Eagle Pack. Is the Eagle Pack Large Breed Puppy food a good option? I am open to any other dry food options. Also, is 2 cups a day spread out to 3-4 feedings a good place to start? https://www.eaglepack.com/product-orignal-dog.aspx?product=82 I appreciate the help!

Hello ! My partner and I just got a husky puppy a week ago and we are loving it ! I have attached a picture of her too. She is 9 weeks old as of now. I had a few concerns regarding her diet and behaviour:- She eats too fast !!! If I put 120grams of Hills Science Diet Puppy Large Breed she eats it very quickly, within 5 minutes and the bowl is sparkling clean. Is this a problem? Two times since we got her home which is around a week, she got hyperactive and snapped at me. I do not know why, probably hungry? I reduced the quantity of food (to around 100grams of food per meal) that I feed her regularly and she snapped in the evening when she was hyperacti…

Hello, new member here, my parents have a 4.5yr old female husky that they rescued a while back. I’ve read up on the breed and did my research and know they need to be very active due to their metabolism. She is very fat like a log. They feed her Merrick Classic Lamb dry food twice a day. I got them to cut back her food but that hasn't helped. If I take her on lets say a 1 mile walk daily will that help her get back down to her original size? If you can leave any tips and questions regarding diet/exercise it would be appreciated. -Hunter ps. the picture outside is the first picture I have of her.

On Monday Marley went into surgery to remove a very deep sebaceous cyst that keeps blowing up. My normal vet did not want to do surgery because he said it was too close to an important nerve in his spine. However around 4 weeks ago it burst again, very late on a Saturday night and I was on my own. I cleaned it up as best I could and got out as much gunk as possible. Last Saturday when the scab was coming off more gunk came out and loads of very hard lumps. I took them to the vets (with Marley) but could not see my usual vet as he was away for 2 weeks - I saw his partner instead. After looking at the fresh wound he said that it had to be operated …

Ok headS up some of this is gross! So I got my Siberian husky when he was 8 weeks old his name is Dexter. Since day one of having him he has had constant runny stools! I think he has had maybe 3 firm poops in the whole time Iv had him he is nearly 16 weeks old. Iv had numerous vets visits which are costing me a fortune but not actually fixing the problem! He was originally on his puppy food I introduced a different one slowly to see if that helped him. It didn't. TheN we tried chicken that didn't work. Tried chicken and rice that didn't work. Tried grain free that didn't work. Tried the gastro food that didn't work. Vet gave him pro kolin that didn't work. So I did h…

Do any of your dogs get hot spots? Marley had his first one a few days ago, he suddenely started biting at his right elbow & at first I thought it was a flea bite, even though he is on Billy No Mates and Flea Away from www.Mange.Org.UK (both safe for epi dogs - Marley is epileptic). Next day when I could get a good look at it, it was about 1/2 inch across, red, inflamed and oozing and I realized it was a hot spot. Now I dont like meds of any kind if I can get away without them. I used two different preparations. 20 drops of Calendula tincture, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and half a cup of warmish filtered water (to disolve the salt), I waited 10 minutes for the alcohol i…

Has your husky needed this operation? On Zena's walk last week she tore hers while running on the field, an x ray this week confirmed she needs the operation. She has the op in 2 weeks. The vet also said when she is all recovered from the op, the likelihood is that the other one will go too. Insurance only covers part of the cost!

Hi, Luna is now 9 1/2 months and she’s our pride and joy. She’s turned into an amazing dog and best friend. The past few days her left eye has had some grey coloured discharge coming near her year duct. Mainly after sleeping at night but during the day too. Yesterday we noticed this lump on her eyelid. We are going to take her to the vets today but was wondering if anyone had any ideas to what it could be and if it’s related to the discharge? Thanks Amanda

Hi, so my boy Bronn is 5 months old and has 2 beautiful blue eyes. Those eyes have been giving us trouble since we got him. According to an eye specialist he has a viral infection in his eye that regulars drops 3 times a day for the next couple of weeks. More recently, the pigment of the white part of his eyes seems to becoming abit brown on both eyes. The eye specialist dosent think it’s a concern but something feels wrong. They are not bothering him nor is he acting any different. Has anyone seen this in their dogs eyes? Or am I right to be concerned? Any advice is welcomed!

I never thought or even heard of dogs having heartburn. During my journey of figuring out what my pups allergies and intolerances are, I have discovered my male gets sever heart burn. He is and always has been gassy. I am talking about burping like an adult that has chugged a few beers. Passes gas’s that clears the room. But there has been a few random vomits. All stomach acid no flim. Yellowish green stinky stuff. The other night he was doing a reverse sneeze but it was coming from the throat. No noise from the nose. Then had like hiccups in his throat. Then throw up around 4 am. He acted fine other then that... I reached out to my nutrit…

So, my husky is currently shedding, we adopted him from a shelter and the first six months of shedding his coat looked very nice. We've had him for almost 2 years now and the more he sheds the worst his coat looks, it gets very patchy and less of a solid color. He gets really dark spots and then some lighter, more blonde spots and he is very young, three this year. I want to know if this is normal, also if I can do anything besides brushing like using a certain shampoo or taking him to the groomer more often and seeing if that will help. Let me know.
