Hi, so am still a bit shaken. We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood with mowed manicured lawns... We were walking peacefully up the street to our house in the sunshine, when suddenly our neighbor's dog ran out of the yard with his leash trailing behind him, and attacked my dog! He has been barking and growling whenever we go by - their house is on the corner one block away, so we can't avoid it unless willing to walk a long detour. Anyway I was so surprised, I couldn't believe he was actually attacking - I was trying to drag my dog away (he met the attack head-on, with growls and bared teeth) but the attacking dog followed us - finally I got angry and I adv…

Hello from TX! Recommendations on good brushes? Bowie is almost 6mo and he’s officially started to shed. I’d like a brush that’s not going to ruin his coat and is also enjoyable for him. He’s such a fuzzball. Thanks all! Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Hi... I've always been intrigued by huskies and am looking at possibly getting a husky puppy from a breeder. We are currently a family of 4 (I personally am home nearly 24/7, happy to exercise a husky daily etc.) me being the youngest at 20 years old. We also have a 5 year old cavalier king charles who is also extremely playful and is always wanting to play play play or be with someone. The other people living in the house are fearful due to some research discovering that huskys will dig up the entire yard as well as destroy the house when left alone for a short amount of time. Despite my efforts in trying to convince them that dogs can be trained…

Luna started weeing way too much so we went to the Vet who said without a urine test she could diagnose accurately but would start her on antibiotics over 3 days and if she didn’t improve to take her back as it could be crystals (so I’ve read up on those now). As if that wasn’t enough, as far as we can tell she hasn’t pooped in nearly 2 days. As a dog who poops at least twice on each of her walks that’s worrying me a bit. She may have gone in the garden area but it’s tricky to be sure with all the shrubbery and weeds! In herself she is just as normal, isn’t crying or seeming to be in pain. The vet examined her thoroughly and said she could find any sore areas but gave her…

My girl Nala is almost 9 months old and is very short. Shes about 18 inches to her shoulder. Its weird because she’s very long and filled out like everything else is growing except her height. I have another female 4 months old who is the same height as Nala. Could she possibly grow a few more inches??

Hi guys, So the other day Cosmo and I were at the park, when some lady who owned a golden asked me what breed he was (as if it weren’t obvious), when I told her he was a Husky she quickly told me he had growth issues and that he was way too small for being almost 6 months. I guess what she meant is that he’s not really tall. I still felt really offended bc I don’t think I would ever say something mean about another persons dog- they are like children. So i wanted to ask you guys if you think cosmo is fine in height and weight for his age. It really is incredible the lack of knowledge regarding these things around here. I had one guy literally tell me tha…

Hi Guys I would like to stress that by far no decision has been made on this I am purely looking for experiences of rehoming a Husky and advice if I did choose this route. We have had Chase for nearly 2 years now from 10 weeks old. He is, as Husky's go brilliant. He isn't perfect on the lead but to me he isn't the worst. He just loves other dogs and playing with them. He listens when food is involved and generally is well behaved. He stays in the garden a lot as he loves it and is crated which he seems fine at unless you leave him when he has a little moan. The issue is my partner is ill. Since we have had Chase the hair seems to have got to her chest and I cann…

Hi guys! So cosmo’s now 4 months and a half and I expected him to be a lot fluffier. Or...just maybe just fluffy in general. I was wondering if maybe with time the fluffiness will come...?

I have approached a handful of Huskies and Shibas for the last year or so and they seem VERY similiar in their interactions with me. Both exude calmness, silent eye contact and introvertedness. Their morphology is also more similiar than people think. Malamutes are more extroverted and not at all like those two (I own a mix breed malamute) None of this should come as a surprise given both are ancient spitz breeds, but I'm curious if I'm under a false impression?

Hey again! I know you have all probably seen posts about colours quite a lot. I just wanted to show you the colour change of Mikah. She’s now 12 weeks old and was wandering what you guys make of the change IMG_6978.HEICIMG_7330.HEICIMG_7532.HEICIMG_7533.HEIC She has been like a light brownish colour, to a ginger to what looks like she’s turning a grey? Her mum was grey and white, her dad black and white. Can a red husky even turn to a grey lol 🤷🏻♀️ Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app IMG_7531.HEICIMG_7532.HEICIMG_7533.HEIC Couldn’t tell if last pics were working so resent them [emoji5] Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile…

Hi everyone, I have a 5 month old white husky named Winter and when we got her, she had 2 standing ears. Now they are both floppy and she looks like a lab. 😂 Does anyone think there is any chance they will stand again? I've seen puppies where their ears were floppy to begin with stand up eventually, but not standing to floppy back to standing. I will love her to death regardless, just want people to stop complimenting my new "lab" lol.

Hi, I’m new in this forum, so first saying hello to everybody! I’m the owner of 3 huskies, one is a 4 months old pup. While my older huskies have no rear dew claw at all, the puppy has double rear dew claws which are present in very few races and actually not in huskies. Is the pup a mix? Do I have to be worried about health prpblems with these dew claws?

Well, since all the fireworks and on the fourth and the week following I have not been able to get Sakura past the sidewalk before she freaks out. This means no pee/poop before bed and she thankfully holds it till morning. Problem is now she is thinking that if she sits and plants herself or turns and pulls as hard as she can that she gets to go inside. There is nothing happening outside to scare her she’s just on super alert mode and is traumatized from all the explosions. Do I let her keep thinking it’s ok to react like that till she’s over it? Or do I keep trying to urge her forward showing her it’s ok? I don’t want to traumatize her more by forcing her out …

Hello everyone! Im new to this forum and created this account to help give me insight. Recently, I adopted a husky who is around 50 pounds who will be available for pickup around next week. After constant worry and extensive research about huskies escaping fences, I'm worried my dog will try to escape. Our backyard is pretty spacious, however, the fence is relatively short with some sections made of brick and others iron. We have one gate that is chained but we are planning on installing a PVC pipe above it to fix the problem. However the biggest problem we are facing is the brick wall as it has a unique feature where the brick wall slowly becomes shorter and shorter all …
