Maya wont come when shes called unless she feels like it, she wont listen outside of the house for anything, once shes outside she wont even look at me. She goes to the bathroom wherever she wants despite all my efforts of trying to train her. She runs between your legs an out the door, she steals food, and items off of counters and out of peoples hands. she has no limits. From day one I tried to set limits but she wont respect them. My family wont listen to the limits Ive set which is not helping at all. They feed her food when she begs, they pet her even tho shes growling, they lay on her, and I cant get anyone to listen. I dont know what else to do. How do I get her to…

So my husband came home the other night with a puppy. He told me it was a husky and we’ve been falling in love with it, and now I’m wondering if it truly is a husky. He seems to small for an 8 week old husky. I have been looking at other photos of husky puppies and I grew up with a husky as a kid, even my husband had one when he was single. So I think he just fell in love with it and bought it without really thinking lol. Anyways, we are going to keep it either way I’m just curious what it might be. I think he is a pomsky personally. We have been planning on buying a husky puppy for awhile. We already chose a breeder that somebody recommended us, but we have this littl…

Hi folks we have had a surprise new dog and have a few questions about her. She was our neices but have taken her in as her toddler was winding her up too much. firstly, what type of husky is she? our neice says not to let her off the lead on walks, can they be trained well? Harness or collar lead? Apparently meat makes her go bonkers, is that usual? Any tips for newbies? Thanks!

Hello! Sorry for the series of posts I'm a worrier as you can tell LOL As some may know, I recently got approved for adopting a husky and it will be part of my family next week! Though there are a lot of important information on the internet, there are still many questions that are left unanswered and I was hoping a community of husky owners would guide me Thank you ahead of time for taking your time and answering these questions!!! Here's some information about my husky to help with the questions; He is 2 years old and approximately 51 pounds. His holder explained to us that he is really calm and has a very low energy level compared to a lot of other huskies his ag…

Hi guys ! My little girl just turned 7 months last week and my husband and I are starting to notice she is still very short. She weighs about 30 pounds but is just very short we think. Is this normal? Should we be concerned about her height ?

I have found going to the dog park and taking her swimming to be good ways of getting her energy out. But I'm only 16 and cant drive so i only get the opportunity to take her places once or twice a week, and thats not enough for her, she needs to get her energy out every day. The heat has been in the 80's and 90's and the streets are way to hot to walk her on, I don't know what else to do the get this energy out, she acts terrible when she cant go out and starts stealing things and barking and whining. what can I do to get her to calm down?

Hey everyone! I have a 3mo grey & white Siberian Husky named Bowie. I realized when I was teaching him how to sit, his front legs would shake. At first I took this at him being excited since after all he is a puppy. However, it happens a lot when he is sitting. His front legs also appear sort of odd to me. There is a ridge on each leg and I’m not sure if it is normal or not. I’ve known a lot of adult huskies but do not know what a puppy’s front legs should look like. He went for a routine check up a couple weeks ago (before I noticed the shake) and everything checked out okay. I’m not sure how much I like this vet though which also adds to my concerns. I’m looki…

I have a one and a half Siberian Husky Roscoe and an almost 5 month Alusky puppy Millie. They are constantly playing in our fenced in yard. How do I know if they are playing too rough? The problem is Millie is so young she doesn’t differentiate between visitors or other dogs so I don’t want her to become aggressive.

This is Roscoe, hes weighs 17 1/2 kg roughly, He eats dry and wet food together. He eats some of our food too (meats) but can be picky sometimes with both his and ours. He will eat his full bowl at once however will not gain weight hes been to the vets and has recently been wormed he has food aggression but nothing major. We are working on that and hes came a long way however nothing is working for him gaining weight i have tried giving him more food but then he wastes it, so i have tried asking the vets but nothing seams abnormal or different in any way, hes been wormed, used to eat raw food but since eating wet and dry food has gained 1 1/2 kg. Do you have any advice pl…

Hey fellow husky owners, I am considering of getting a husky in the next 2 month's and I read a lot of different opinions to what extent it is possible to raise a husky in apartments. In order to be complete sure that I'm doing the right thing it would be great if you could feedback on my personal situation. I am 22 years old and since 1 year now I am thinking about getting my first dog. The time and setting before was not suitable so I told myself that I'll wait a little longer until I move to a different apartment with more space, which is now. I'm currently living in the Netherlands, togheter with my girlfriend and 2 other friends from my psychology study who are …

I have never owned a husky and am looking into getting one or a malamute. My yard isnt huge but my dog would get plenty of exercise from long walks/jogs and hiking. My dog would be a purely indoor dog and would never skero outside. The problem is the neighbors are pretty close. I know huskies and malamutes ade vical so u was wondering if there are more quiet ones or if they can be taught the quiet command.

Hi all, I recently got a 2 month female and currently shes staying in a small room in the house next to the living room. The room seemed fine for her size a few weeks ago when she used to barely run around and spend most of her time sleeping but now I think she feels trapped. I dont want her to wander around the house for many reasons so I decided to build her a closed and air conditioned shelter in the yard as summers here reach 113F+ and winters 68F. How big should that "room" be? I want to build her one that should be big enough for her when shes fully grown. P.S. I heard from some breeders here that they can withstand this heat as long as th…

Hi friends. My boy is only 2 years old and he got this weird limping problem. Sometimes when he stands up after laying around his front right leg will limp. He doesnt seem to be in pain, he just hops around lifting his leg. He's fine with putting pressure on it, since he still uses his leg to climb the stairs, but even when he sit sometimes he'll lift it up or straight up lay on the floor instead. After sometime he'd be fine, about 30mins to an hour? At first I thought his leg just fell asleep, but it take pretty long for him to stop limping and its always the same leg it seems. I check his paws everytime too, and i don't see any visible injury or anything stuck in there.…

Took Cai and Luka blue to Aberdyfi beach last weekend and checked out a new dog shop, some amazing products in there and decided to buy a ball and a ring. The assistant said that they’d last years, I smiled and thought I don’t think so, can’t believe it, they’ve been trying very hard to destroy them with no luck, they play with them all the time and they’re still intact [emoji1] it cost £18 for the 2 but money well spent! Hey there! I'm interested in adopting a Siberian Husky puppy, and since I've never owned one before, I was hoping to get some advice when it comes to breeders. I have been searching for quite a while to find the perfect puppy, and I thought that I had, but later I was idly searching for husky pictures and came across a forum on this website, in which another user had in a similar situation to mine requested advice and discovered that his dream puppy may actually be riddled with health issues, and with your guys' help he decided on a much safer puppy. I'm hoping to have the same wonderful advice, so here he is! The breeder is Breeders name removed, and from wha…

Honestly, I gave up fighting it. I mixed a little pumpkin in with the dry. I have tried Chicken/rice mix. I can barely get two days straight of not having diarrhea. Just make sure the pup is on a good Quality food and stays hydrated. It is really hard to do crate training, or exercising, or anything for any period of time because of it and it is frustrating. Mine has it because he is a Hoover. Eats everything that he sees no matter what it is. Paper, carpet, blankets, etc. I just make sure that it is healthy diarrhea (color, thickness, smell) and check for blood. He is starting to grow out of it and his stool is starting to have more…

I visited someone to take a look at their puppies about a week and a half ago. I took pictures while I was there. The 2nd picture is an updated picture that she took a few days ago. I know colors change, but do they change this much? A little over a week between pictures.

Help my husky is 4 years old and takes off any collar. He’s broken belt like collars and he takes apart teethed choke collars. I don’t know what to do to keep him from getting off while my boyfriend and I are at work! He runs to the neighbors’ houses . He always comes home but I’m afraid he’s gonna get hit by a car. He goes on a decent long walk everyday when I get home from work. And my boyfriend plays with him before he goes to work . He leaves for work at 3:30 pm and I get home at 5:00 pm. Any suggestions on collars to try? I’m willing to try anything!
