Hey all! I’ve been wondering if this rust color is normal for huskies? He’s been licking his mouth a lot and the rust is staining the carpet. Any one have advice on what it could be? I hope it isn’t something too serious [emoji22] We just got all clear after his car accident a month ago. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Hello. New here! But I am Looking for advice. I have a 8 month old female husky. I have 3 dogs total. She is the youngest. I’ve had her since she was 5 months. She adjusted easily. Gets along great with other girls. A shepherd lab mix 2 yrs and a GSD 1.5 years. We moved 1.5 months ago. No issues adjusting again. She’s pretty laid back. She’s 2nd in command. Might end up being alpha. Only thing she is alpha on now is toys. She hoardes them. Steals from other 2. They don’t resist lol. Anyway. Potty training has been a bumpy road. Mostly with pooping. But it’s under control now. But Kira urinated on my sons bed a couple weeks ago. They all hang out on beds with u…

What do you guys think? I saw the parents and they are definitely pure but just making sure. He is about 8 weeks old according to the puppy parents and 11 or so pounds. Also, his left floppy ear worries me. Will it stand up? I hope it wasn’t caused by my petting. Thanks!

Today is the big day. We dropped Stella off at the vet earlier today for her spay. She was livid about not getting her breakfast before we left - how dare we. At the pre-consulate the tech told us "10-14" days of rest after the surgery. Not sure how thats going to be possible. 🙃 I've come across two really good articles so far talking about doing "Free Shaping" and other mental stimulation training to keep them satisfied, but I'm not sure how far thats going to take us. We're running out now to stock up on some fresh new toys and extra kongs. Does anyone have any suggestions? How did you get through it?

Ok so there like a 10% chance but I have a fleeting thought about adopting a 4th husky. For those of you that have gone from 3 to 4 what kind of advice could you give? Right not Kodiak is about 8 or 9, Nikko is about to turn 7, and Yukon just turned 6. Kodiak is average energy; Nikko is still hyper as ever and Yukon is a chill low energy husky. The one that I was thinking about is 10 months old male that is neutered. I always said 3 is my max but I’m actually kind of considering adopting him. Looking for any advice or comments. Hello folks, I have two siblings/same litter, male and female, that the female has developed a condition that the veterinarians seem to not fully want to identify or know what to do? Most I got was possible allergy or immune problem. For those more interested I posted a relatively long message at the bottom that I typed up for other online vets to hopefully comment on from experience. But I posted this here thinking who better to ask than a owner`s group? Basically, 2 months ago my female, 8 yrs old, 85 lbs, first developed tearing right eye, lesions at the nose, lip, and sores on back end and tail. In the course of the 2 months of multiple vets and biopsies (no…

So Tuff has to have ACL surgery. Anyone have any experience with it that might have some tips or some advice on recovery? This will be his first major surgery minus having his man parts taken. LOL. I'm a little nervous.

The bit below is from Dogs Naturally magazine this months issue - its a bit worrying don't you think? How about us all getting another husky ! Dog breeds at risk of extinction In 2008, there were just under 4,000 Yorkshire Terriers bred in the UK, yet in 2017 there were only 876 – a radical fall of 78.1%. If the numbers continue to fall at this rate, Yorkshire Terriers would disappear altogether by 2060. Bichon Frises are also at risk, as their numbers have dropped by almost three quarters (72%) in the last ten years, from 2757 to just 769. If these trends continue, Bichon Frises may only be around until 2070. Similarly, in 2008, there were…

Cai has recently developed a fear of loud noises, a neighbour is building a shed and sometimes drops tools, if Cai’s in the garden he rushes inside wanting to run upstairs, fireworks were a nightmare for him he wouldn’t go out unless it was for his walks, my son gets a little loud on his xbox and Cai will pace around. This seems to have come out of nowhere, I’m saying ‘it’s ok Cai’ to him and I’ll redirect his attention onto something else. Has anyone experienced this and will this fear subside and what else can I do? Luka blue is so chilled out, he’s not displaying this behaviour. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Do not attempt to walk pups on even a slightly windy day. 🤣 With every leaf that blow by... off I went. One pup going after one in one direction and the other going the other way after a different leaf. I think we were outside for 15 minutes and both pups are exhausted and I am ready for a drink. Hehheee

Hi, I've attached an image of my pup which I was told was a sibe but no paperwork it was taken at night so you can't really see his eyes which are parti. He has a thickish coat we he has not shed he's just over 8 month old now. I'm wondering has he got malamute in him. He's was weighing about 45lb at 7 month old. I have not weighed him lately as I will take him to vets in a few weeks to get weighed again. He's got a thicker coat than a lot of other huskies and it seems to be getting thicker. Just thought I would ask others opinion.

If its a full moon or cold weather is coming my boy sits and howls at the moon. I was wondering why he does this. I caught him the other night. I live in a rural area which is probably a good thing. He does not go on for hours so it's not boredom and I have other dogs. He does not sleep outside. I just wondered why he does it. VID_20181020_195926.mp4

TLDR: Shoes arent working, running without hurts feet, what do we do? Hi, my 2 year old husky, Loki, and I have been working on running with a bicycle since I got him in July. We started with little half mile jaunts and now are increasing to the 5-10 mile range. He loves to run/pull the bicycle. He used to run beside me until he broke the bicycle leash pulling too hard on it lol. So currently he runs on a regular leash in front of me and off to the side a little, which allows me to monitor him more closely. We are working on learning commands etc on our local bike path and coming along nicely. The problem we are having is that if we run bare footed (Musher's secre…

What's up guys! This is my first post and i'm excited to be a part of this forum. I am buying a Siberian husky from a breeder and had some concerns and if you could help me out, i'd really appreciate it! It is a 7½ week old male, and the breeder told me when they took him to the vet for a final examination, the vet said everything is healthy, except only one of the testicles hasn't descended yet. The vet said they couldn't locate it, and the breeder said they didn't want to do a further examination because it was so common. I plan to neuter him but i'm afraid if i end up buying the husky and the testicle doesn't drop, I'll have a massive bill on my hands, for th…

So I got a letter the other day. Telling me my dogs are barking and causing a nuisance. I live in a semi detached house. My neighbours who are attached to me I speak with every day. We are very friendly with each other. I’ve spoken to them about it and they said they’d tell me to my face which I know they would. Anyway they say the dogs aren’t that bad when I leave so I don’t know how the person who isn’t attached can complain! (She also works for the council might I add and is a bit of a busybody). I’ve recorded my dogs when I leave the house and yes they do howl but it’s for between 2 - 5 minutes then they settle down. I’m very annoyed that this person hasn’t come to me…

I’ve noticed that my husky Bailey (white with black spots) doesn’t have a full thick coat where as my other husky Nala (black) has a very thick fluffy coat like other huskies I’ve seen. She is 11 months old. Will she maybe develop it more as she gets older? She is also taller and a lot skinnier than my other

My furballs got hit by a car as we were in the middle of the intersection next to our house and they both got hit a long with a hooman. Kiba seems to be okay with the vet but Kuma is stiff. The emergency vet said the X-rays all checked out and he had no broken or fractured bones. We’re just really worried and if anyone has had experience if they have any advice? We’re going over the X-rays again and are getting pain meds for him. [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24] Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
