Hey guys, what's up! My puppy will turn 1 year next month and I've had him since 9 weeks, everything is going great except that if he finds certain things lying on the floor, he'll immediately pick them up and chew them, such as a small kids toys, paper, remotes plastic, tissues. But he has NEVER chewed up any furniture, walls, socks/shoes or carpet or even picks up sticks etc on walks.....only the small things i've listed he chews up. I try to keep these listed things away from his reach but sometimes my little sister leaves them on the floor. I know many of you will say avoid him from reaching these things, but i want to train him for scenario…

We have now had two successful home checks - one from SHWA and the other from Howls for Help (yesterday) I am really hopeful that Howls for Help can find us a suitable new playmate for Marley - Danielle (the homechecker) had one in particular in mind - a husky mix - not currently advertised, but will be sending me more detail on two others as well. Marley wasn't exactly on his best behaviour - one of her females is about to come into season, - and Marley is still intact, - so was VERY interested in her. Luckily she saw the funny side and understood.

Hi folks, My vet has recomended castrating our husky for medical reasons.. I heard a while back that it can be risky to anethetize a husky, this coming from a husky owner, does anyone know if this is true? And would chemical castration be a safer option, or is this only a good short term option. Last question, will our husky a totally different dog after the castration, like less lively,.... Thanks, Baz

We lost our Husky of 14 years in October last year. We had him since he was a pup and he had such a great temperament. We’re no longer in touch with the original breeder but he was KC registered. Our dogs kennel club name was Sliding in The Snow, his father was called Dass’s American Yukon and his mother was Refraction of the Sun. We would love to trace any of his family line to see if he has any generations that are still breeding from either bloodline. Can anyone advise how we could go about this please ? many thanks

I wanted to buy the K9 III, It's $420 but after reading the information about the product I found a product that is half a price, more powerful and the most important, with a reliable and well known company. X-POWER I have a friend with an air duct company, and he use Xpower for years and years to to dry houses with water damage. so I had to check about this company. As mention above, I noticed that they have some professional pet blowers with much more air flow then the K9. It's made me realize that most people that but K9 it's because groomers recommended it, but for some reason groomers don't really know about hte XPOWER. and that's not good. …

I've always been a restless person. I jog, I bike, I go for long walks regardless if it's freezing outside or raining. And I wanted a dog to accompany me on these trips so I got a husky. When I am at work, which is from 730 am to 3 pm, my husky is at this dog-garden. Basically a kindergarten for dogs. I pay 350 usd every month for that. They make the dogs do mental activities, they walk them, they have this huge open field where they can run all day and play with other dogs. I drop him off 6 am and he is there till 3 pm. When I go pick him up, we walk back home, which is 1 hr. Here he walks and runs freely since it's a wooded area. This makes 10 hrs of being outs…

I got 3 huskys. 1 the oldest of the house is Lady. She is now 17m had her since 6wks old. Then in March I got a boy husky now 4m named Acheron. I thought I could make a nice couple and Lady could have 1 litter. Lady treated "Ash" like her baby. It was adorable. Early last month a friend told me that she had a girl husky and needed someone that care about the breed to take over bc she was a cat person and just couldnt do it. So I took husky No 3 now called Simi in. Lady didnt take to this kindly as she stop eating and just got depressed or something. Time passed and I took all 3 to the vet and they told me that Lady has malnutrition issues, something in her gut not receiv…

Hey.... As the title says. I just saw it his post on Facebook. He’s a beautiful boy and really hope he finds his forever home soon Can’t believe he was brought there at around 6 months 😢 Too many people don’t do their research before getting a husky, myself and my boyfriend included and even though it’s been really hard work, I would never give her up. Luna is 9 months now and she’s amazing. Love her loads. So yeah, if there’s anyone in that area or you know of anyone then pass the details on 😊

Hey guys , i have a husky puppy i’ve had her since October 2018 , she is now 6 months old . I really love her and I spoiled her , but I’m really sad because she doesn’t really miss me or show me any love . She only comes and listens when there’s food involved in the matter . I left her for 5 days in a pet hotel and when i went to pick her up she didn’t care and didn’t seem to be happy or excited. She was normal. I train her and walk her and talk to her and play with her . She won’t listen to me or obey anything if we’re outside the house. When we go to the dog park she acts like she doesn’t see or hear me ! She would play with the other dogs and ignore me . Sh…

Hi everyone! I have a soon to be one year old male husky named Sai, who is a very dominant and loves his rough play. We have recently just taken in a rescue hound, Rosie and all ten of her five week old puppies until they are ready for their forever homes. We have slowly introduced Sai and Rosie by taking them on walks and they are started to get along quite well. Rosie is still quite timid, however, and of course defensive of her puppies so we do keep them seperated on different floors of the house and give them different run time in our fenced yard. My question being.. what the best way to introduce the dogs for playtime in the back yard and is it a go…

Hey what's up guys! My guy is turning 1 year in a couple months and I just wanted to see how he is doing in comparison to other huskies that was his age, and see if his current issues are completely normal for his age, and if they will go away with continued training.... Right now the only issues are: - Lunges at other dogs to play when he gets real close, only dogs.(Have gotten a lot better compared to before) - Goes crazy when greeting other people, will jump up and never greet calmly if someone wants to pet him - Sorta can't leave him alone unsupervised, only thing he will guarantee to chew are remotes if left on table -Run out the front door if accident…

Hello all! I'm adopting my first husky puppy (she will be 8 weeks) and have a few questions about training! 1) I live in a large family that includes my husband's dad and grandparents, so while my husband and I may not be home during the day, they will be. (I work 7 on/7off so mainly the 7 on part they'll be the biggest help). Would it be better to leave her by herself for awhile during the day or is it ok for her to be able to see them all day? I'm concerned she may became too dependent on us causing problems/separation anxiety leaving her alone for a few hours here and there when she's older. 2) Is it better to move the crate at night time to our bedroom? I do…

Hi everyone. I posted about this topic on a different site about huskies, but I wanted some more opinions as well lol. My puppy is about five months old, and his coat is very confusing to me. The breeder told me he was a copper-banded wooly, which he technically is, but that’s not one of the standard colors, so I wanted to know if he fit in one of the standard categories. I included pics below! His undercoat is light beige, but the skin on his back is black, and it looks like the fur from the root is increasingly turning black, which I thought was not supposed to happen with red dogs. For some more background too, his dad is white and black with some copper spots, and his…

Hi, My husky puppy is 5 month old now and 15kg and we are still struggling to find him the right diet. He always seems to have loose stools and diarrhoea. Really concerned and currently having his stools tested at the vets which has cost me a fortune. I am contemplating a raw meat diet?? Won’t it be dangerous thou to feed ur puppy raw chicken legs as the bones could splinter. Any suggestions please would be much appreciated 😞😞

Hi everyone🙂 my bf and I recently got our gorgeous baby Moon and when we bought her the breeders said she was a full bred husky. I saw both parents and they were both black and white huskies. I also saw the litter of pups, there were 6 black and white and 2 all white. I trusted the sellers and didn't think twice about our baby not being a husky until quite a few different people started saying that she wasn't 😕 I love her no matter what she is my baby, just kind of irks me that someone would or could have lied when selling puppers. Her ears are a little big and face a little thin, also her tail doesn't curl too much but does C curve when she's excited or outside. I …

I feel like this would have been asked before, but all my searches came up empty, so my apologies if this is a tired subject. I love to have my 2 year old husky pull me on my bike to let out some energy; and she loves it too. We recently got another dog and I'd like to be able to hook her up to the bike as well to have 2 dogs pulling. I'm not sure if there is a special harness for this or if there is a special way to hook up the dogs. I bought a coupler to hook them both up to one leash when I go for a walk, but it's a bungee coupler that I feel would snap if it would be under constant tension from them pulling. It's rated for 30-100lb dogs, but I still don…

What's up guys? My puppy is 9 months and he weighs exactly 50 lbs. He has been 49 lbs for the last month or so and I wanted to know if he is done growing, weight and high wise? If not, at what age will he reach his full height and weight. Also, from your personal experience and after seeing other huskies growth how much will my guy weigh as an adult, from his current weight for his age? .....The dad was 56 lbs and the mom was 52 lbs. Thanks

Hi all! I have a year and a half old pure bred husky named Senko. He is a super well behaved dog most of the time however now we are having issues with him escaping his kennel when we leave the house. It all started when we had a wedding to go to. At that point we were letting him run around the house as he had no issues. However this night after we had some friends come by and take him out and feed him he ripped the trim off of our garage door and scratched up the drywall. Since then we have been keeping him in the kennel but now he’s figured out how to get out of that and damaging other things while we are gone. Not sure how we can get him back to where he was bef…

This guy here took it to a whole new level of crazy this morning! As a former and current husky owner, I'm all too aware of their habit of playing "King of the Mountain" in an effort to get the highest vantage point, to be able to see/hear/smell as much as possible. This morning, my husband said he heard the school bus (the same one Floki jumped onto yesterday for a ride), then saw a blur pass by our 2nd story window. Thought he was still half asleep, til he saw it again and realized that Floki was ON THE ROOF! Apparently, he was watching the kids get on the bus, and man, he really likes that bus, lol! So he popped out the screen and ran across the roof for a closer …
