Hello, I have another month or so before I get Denali spayed but I need to figure out my work schedule now. The vet does the surgery on Wed and I was wondering how much time I should take off of work for it. My husband will drop her off in the AM, and I will pick her up after work that afternoon. I do not want to leave her all day in her kennel on Thursday, but I do not want to take time off of work if she is just going to sleep all day either. What about Friday? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, My seven month old Husky has been having soft, runny and first part hard second part soft stools for the past 3 months. It started near the end of January for a few days and when there was green mucus in his stool we brought him to the vet, the vet said it was colitis and gave him a weeks worth of anti-biotics and anti inflammatories. The stools hardened up after that and were okay for about 1 month. His stools started to go the same way and he got sick a yellow frothy substance. We brought him to the vet again and he said he had gastritis, another week of anti-biotics. He was okay for about 3.5 weeks then he didnt eat his morning meal so I tried him at lunch tim…

We found a chew toy on Ebay which you can put in the freezer to help puppies with teething. Chloe and Holly love it! Well worth getting. I think we only ended up paying £3.99 for it

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this but I have found my new backpack to be a great alternate to a walking belt. You can simply close the waistbelt through your lead handle. This is a cheaper alternative (assuming you already have a backpack/rucksack as they are called in the uk) and can provide you with even more support. It distributes the force over your entire upper body and give you the same hands free control. And you can use it to store your shopping

Strange question but yesterday i was walking oscar and we met someone with another husky, both of them were playing with each other for about 15 mins (other husky was very vocal and kept nipping at oscar as they do) strangely Oscar never even opened his mouth or howled at him, both of them just got up on their back legs and hugged. As we walked on a couple walked passed with a black labrador that seemed to be exitable and his tail was wagging but oscar was growling and barking uncontrolably as they went past? (never been like that before, and i did the sit and stay but it made no difference) could it just be the case that he didnt like that other dog? and do …

Hi guys, Thanks for the warm welcome. I have a question though. I have two smaller dogs, one a Dachshund and another a Chihuahua, both males. Kisha my new pup is 8 weeks od and all she wants to do is play with them. The Dachshund usually is super friendly to everything, he loves playing with all animals, extremely lovable dog, but with Kisha I noticed he snaps at her when she wants to play. The Chihuahua has always been a cheeky dog, never really allowed any other dog to play with him. I am just concerned that when Kisha gets older she might see the two little ones as a threat and take her aggression out on them. Is there a way or possiblity to intro…

hi im new here. i have a one year old husky. She is very very picky eater, i was thinking of trying evo or taste of the wild. I like how evo is more raw food option however i still dont know. I keep going to the store bashing my brains on what to try lol. I got her about a 4 months ago and they had her on puppy chow which i refuse to feed her that. She is more on the lean long side and i wish she had more weight on her as well. i've been slowly bringing her protein food up higher i didnt just want to switch from a crappy food like that to a high protein food and mabey mess her up. I had her on chicken of soup then candide as the vet said they are lower protein foods.…

hey everyone, well as you all know the vet (who seemed to know sod all about huskies) told us that Oz was between 2 and 3.... but,do you think a husky expert would be able to tell us how old he really is? (i don't mean to the day or anything, i just mean if he's 2 or 3....or even 4) i feel really awful going 'oh yeah he's about 2 or 3' and when would that change to 3-4 etc?! imagine not having a birthday is the teeth the best way of telling??

I adopted a two year old Siberian Husky about 3 months ago. When we got him, he was eating Science Diet. We gradually switched him over to eating Kirkland Chicken & Rice food (from Costco) We liked this food since it started off with a meat and had heard this was a high quality food. It seemed like to us that his behavior changed. He became aggressive (not biting) towards my dad and my fiance's dad. He had met them before we changed his food and was shy towards them but now he barks at them and lunges at them. He has not bit them but has acted like he may. We did know when we adopted him he was shy of men, but did not display aggressive behavior. We have thought about…

Hi, just wondering about what age do huskies become teens and if there's a marked difference between personalities at puppy stage & teen stage and for that matter, adult stage? I know for humans, pre-pubescent and adolescent stages are when parents want to disown their kids usually, but is this the case as well for dogs/huskies? I guess I want to know R'wick will be the same sweet boy later as he is now. Thanks in advance! S

Hi, This is my first post. I just adopted a husky yesterday afternoon. A 3 year old female from a husky rescue. I have two boys (10 year old Newfy mix and 3 year old shepard /greyhound mix??). This is my first husky. She is super sweet and affectionate to the humans but I am having some issues with the pack. I brought my 2 to meet her at the rescue and they pretty much ignored each other which I was told was a good reaction. Now that we are home, she still wants nothing to do with them. If they try and sniff her she growls (she didn't do this at the shelter). This is especially bad if she is next to me. She doesn't want them near her if she is near me . The growls s…

I thought i'd ask what dog would be a good companion for max? He loves being around all of us but when we go for walks he looks like hes in need of a play mate. We don't want another Husky as they are a little handfull ( bless him ), We are big dog lovers and cos we are thinking smaller we are stuck on which breed Any opinions welcome Thanks Jon x

I live in the states and it is not very common to see huskies (at least in the midwest). When we are out walking we get lots of comments like "is that a husky?" Are huskies pretty common in the UK? In one post Yukiko said there were lots of husky pups in her puppy class. Maybe I will start to notice them more since I have one now

My partner and I noticed yesterday that our sibe has a pink spot on his nose. Well it's more next to his nose. I've heard of snow nose and i'm pretty sure this can't be it as we live in Australia and it doesn't really got cold here (it doesn't even snow where i am) and it's not really on his nose. We are in Autumn at the moment so the nights are getting a little bit colder but not by much. Anyway I've attached some photos so everyone can have a look. Advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanx P.S. It doesn't seem to be sore to touch or swollen

I have a 2.5 month old husky pup, named Zoey. She's adorable, and playful, and sweet and we love her. We've never had a husky before though and need some help. We're trying to crate train her, but every time she gets in there she howls NON STOP! She doesn't sleep at all during the night, because she is too busy crying and this morning when we got up she was COVERED (it was even smeared around her nose and her eyes!) with feces and urine. She will eliminate outside, but does it more inside. I really need your help! I have never had such a hard time with a puppy before, I dont know what we're doing wrong.... Thanks, Jen and Zoey
