hiya everyone my mini furball is very chewy when left home alone, shes decided that the cane sofa in her room is very tasty and what ever else her teething mouth can get to. so far she has eaten half the sofa, a cable of the lamp ( thank-god there wasn't electric going to it had the sense to turn off everything at the plug in the room ) digging though carpet and just general chewing. ive tried putting her in the garden whilst telling her "bad girl " whilst i tidy up the mess, telling her "bad girl " and a few others. im at my wits end and i think hubby's baldness is getting worse because of it lol shes 5 1/2 months old and is getting her adult teeth though, she doesn't ge…

A book I am reading by a respected author recommends for the first three nights when a puppy arrives to have the crate right by the bed so they don't feel abandoned...then move the crate to a different location if desired...What do you guys think of this?

If you live in hawaii you may want to read this! I just returned from a month long trip to the mainland, and I wasnt able to take my 2 dogs and 2 cats with me. I searched and called and searched more (for 3 months) to find someone who could provide the pet sitting services that i wanted for my huskamutes and my cats while I was away, and someone who would do it for a reasonable price so I could afford it and know that they were very well cared for while I was away. Most of the pet sitting places on the island were $1,400.00 and up for just 2 weeks and would only come to my home 1 or 2 times a day, and wouldnt walk my dogs for an hour e…

So whenever Foxy and Kiana get into playing Kiana will swing around and whack Foxy with her rear. At first I thought it was hillarious but she does it all the time. I'm wondering is she doing it because Foxy might be playing to rough for her? I never feel they are but idk. Or is it just an odd husky thing? LOL

Hello again, I had a quick question to run by you guys. The weather here in the Pacific Northwest is beginning to heat up but the nights are still pretty cool.. With that said my wife has what I call bad circulation, so she keeps the thermostat at 71 degrees, one degree lower and she swear shes hypothermic. During the day and while my wife is at school I try to leave the windows open and the heating system off, especially when Missy is sleeping in her crate. At night I have to close the window and have the heat on because my wife might become an ice cube. We keep missy in her crate next to our bed and every night I hear her panting really heavily. I know t…

Kiana is only 11wks old so I might be thinking about this way to soon but we are going to the beach tomorrow and I was wondering would she be to young to go? We've had her two weeks this friday and she's settled in beautifully but I don't know if that would be to much of a big thing for her so soon or would that be my personal judgement?

Hi guys, I just wanted to ask how often you guys brush your Sibes?. I've been brushing him once in the morning everyday. He's 12 weeks old. Is this OK? or can it be bad for his coat?. I also use the odd wipe on him, sometimes a baby wipe but i really need to go get some Dog wipes as i think baby wipes might do more harm than good to him. I only really use them when he get's that soggy rain smell. Thanks Tom

HI every I would like to have some comment about my furrt puppy size. She was born Dec 10 last year. Is her size is to small comparing to other husky pups? today I went shopping at the pet shop and I met another 11 week old sibe pup. She is a lot bigger than my pup. :'( I am a little bit worry. My yoon-ah doesnt eat much either.

I've noticed whenever Kiana gets really excited or after she wakes up from a super long nap she gets the hiccups about 10mins after being awake. When she gets excited she just starts hiccuping. Is this a husky thing or just a puppy thing?

Something I've noticed with our 2 is that when moulting they are monsters for food. Any other time of the year I will prepare food, put it down and they will just look at it and take their time to eat, sometimes even leave it. BUT Smithy at the moment is moulting and I cannot get the food in the bowl quick enough for him, and it's gone in seconds. So, what are yours like when they moult???

We own a small, feisty female husky, who lives indoors with us. She's extremely well behaved at home, but of course loves outdoors and other dogs A LOT and gets hyper when we leave the house for a walk. I am home all the time but I notice she is always bored at home when I am working and she definitely needs a companion. We are thinking of getting a male husky companion for her since she loves to doggy wrestle/rough-house. Since they will be indoor dogs (and we give our current dog plenty of exercise--which is why she's well behaved indoors) do you think they will spend time playing together if we have to leave? My current dog never destroys the house when we're gone…

People's opinions differ so much on this subject. How long is acceptable to leave a husky for, puppy or adult. I have been speaking to a few people now and some people have said that a puppy would be "OK" being left for 4 hours, not great but at the end of the day people have to work etc. But some people have said this is too long and a puppy shouldn't really be left at all? Its all very confusing!

I just thought I'd let you in on an interesting thought some people believe about the husky. When we were looking to get one the person at the local petstore told us that she has noticed when working with the huskies that the ones that have two blue eyes tend to be more fiesty/crazy/deviant than the huskies that have both brown eyes. Then she went on to tell me that the ones with one blue/one brown eye are a little of both. lol. I was just wondering your thoughts on this? On that note, Pongo has two blue eyes with a sliver of brown in his parti-eye. Now he is pretty crazy sometimes, but definitely NOT dominant. What about your dogs?
