Hi! New here! Our dog is a husky shepherd mix, a rescue. Trying to figure out which breed forum to join, ha ha... looks like a big husky, but is mainly attached to one person (me), follows me from room to room, barks loudly at the door, and is a bit aloof ( does not seek attention from strangers). Does he act more like a shepherd, then? But aside from barking at door, he is a silent guy., which seems more like a husky... Starting obedience class in 2 weeks, so I guess we will see which breed in him dominates...? wondering if he can be offleash trained ( more like shepherd) or never let off leash (more like husky)!

Hello, my wife and I adopted 2 puppies (Bugaboo & Monashee, named after two mountain ranges in western Canada) April of 2010. Two from the same litter, one male, one female. Now 8.5 years have passed and looing forward I can`t believe what great dogs there were, and are. Incredibly smart. Seems to know most of what we say, and there understanding keeps going higher. Very obedient, loyal. I do admit when we got them, we were able to spend a lot of time with them as puppies, which I strongly believe help forge our 'Pack', making it strong as well as allowing them to learn that much more from us. I hope I am not selfish as to why I am now just joining this forum. My…

Hi all As the title states I am new to the husky breed. I currently have a 6 month old Siberian husky called meka. I think there may be something else in her blood line as she has brown eyes and looks a bit different. But im not bothered, I also have 3 Japanese akita x German shepherd (shepkita) all siblings two boys and a girl. We recently lost their mum, (july). So i am it new to a larger and dominant breed just huskies themselves. Meka settled in great with the pack they adore her. Does anyone else's husky roll in gross stuff. My others have never done it they don't like even getting her paws dirty but meka is loving rolling in anything smelly and gross at…

I got a puppy a couple days ago, his name is Rocky and he is 7 weeks old and weighs 11 or so pounds. Pleased to meet you all! Also, I'm not sure if he is purebred although the parents seemed to be. I made a post on the general comments section, if you want to help out go check that out! Thanks!

Our dog gets a lot of compliments because of how she looks. For some reason people say she looks like a fox, coyote or baby wolf. I had two people ask how much would it cost for her. I said I don't give family away, but my uncle loves her a lot too. While she does look like a coyote (she's not) she had a very beautiful white brother back in her sleddog facility upnorth. She's a bit smaller now, but. I don't see all the fuss, I think she's beautiful even though I know some people are scared of her at first glance since they think she is a wolf or coyote. But she's the sweetest thing, a bit stubborn although!

Hello! I am the proud owner of two beautiful huskies littermates. My husband and I rescued them at 9 months from a sweet lady who had no idea what she was getting in to. At first, they were little terrors and we were not inexperienced husky owners. (By we, I mean me. My husband had never owned huskies.) Now they are our children; we don’t and won’t have human children. They’re pretty good for huskies. They don’t chew too many things up in the house when we’re gone, they let me brush them, they are okay on their nightly walk. (By “okay” I mean they only yank us down the street when they see other dogs or something that looks fun to chase.) I’m excited to join this communi…

Hi, my name is Roxy and I just turned two, a week ago. I am a full grown miniature Siberian Husky (not Klee Kai or Pomsky). I weigh 21.5 lbs. and I am approximately 15.5 - 16 inches in height. I love people, but my favorite is my human dad, who I constantly follow all over the house. I also love other dogs. The humans tell me that I am very sweet. And, I have never gotten upset or growled at anyone. My favorite hobby is running around and play fighting with my human dad, etc. And, I am very spoiled: I get to sleep with my human parents every night and in the morning I like to get at least a 15 minute belly rub rub. I also like to be well groomed so I enjoy taking…

Hello there, my name's Heath. I'm a brand new husky owner. I already had a border collie/lab mix that is almost 4 years old that has been an amazing dog. I had been looking for a dog that would make a good playmate for him when I came across a Siberian Husky puppy. I adopted him about 2 weeks ago and things are going great so far. He's very fun, playful and happy all the time. Fawkes (my new husky pup) and Linux (border collie/lab) are already best friends and I'm extremley happy I got him. He's a red and he was born on 7-18-2018. I look forward to getting to know you all and learning some more about huskies along the way!

Hi my name is Nanuk. I’m cute but don’t let it fool you. In my free time I enjoy vocalizing every thought, whining, chewing everything, and darting out the front door dodging cars. I have a free spirit that fades every time I go into my crate, so I’m sure to throw a temper tantrum for all the neighbors to hear!

Hey everyone! I'm brand new here and would like to introduce myself, and of course, my husky! My name is Kelly, and I'm from Owings, MD. I am mom to Floki, a nine month old husky boy who we adopted from our SCPA at 12 weeks old. He's a typical husky (we had another husky a long time ago, and were already familiar with their "unique" traits and habits, lol!) He's hyper, stubborn, playful, strong, boneheaded, sweet, loving and very vocal! I am also mom to 5 daughters, one pig, and a cat, lol! Needless to say, our household is quite the adventure! Here are some pics of my Floki-Loki, from puppy stage to present!

Hi everyone, thanks for having me. I just adopted a female 2 year old husky 2 weeks ago. I am going to have a lot of questions. 😄 she is a very sweet dog and very gentle, fits right in with my lab, shepherd, and yorkie. Don’t ask I also have a lot of kids. My first question is what color do you think she is? First husky so I am starting to learn about them. Training is going well in the house so far. I heard these dogs can’t be of lease because they run. We will work on that. She’s learning very quickly from the other dogs. Thanks!

Hello everyone! I have a 6 month old Shepsky that I adopted at just 10 weeks from a local shelter as sadly he was found abandoned just two weeks after being sold.. He definitely got his looks from his Shepherd Parent but the personality of the husky. His energy level has been crazy from the beginning on, I swear sometimes he has the energy of three dogs all in one. His parents were both a little bit above average size wise but I was told he seems small for his age? I guess I am just glad he is growing slow and if I may judge by his still crazy amount of loose skin there is still a lot of growth potential. In the end no matter how much he will grow I love him despite …

Hello Everyone! What brought me to this site? Well strap on for a ride, this'll be a story! I am Elsa and I am from the countryside of Florida. I've had many dogs as companions during my lifetime, most of'em during my childhood / early years. Now that I am in a position again to be able to care for a doggo properly, I started looking online for adoption & buying options. Saw online that there was a cute little teddy bear in a shelter nearby. Decided to check it out, this is a very big shelter where they care for animals very properly, consequently, there's a lot of animals there, including tens to hundreds of dogs. Took me a while to try to locate the o…

Hello, found this while googling so decided to join the family. Luna is almost 3 already. She is my first dog ever since I had been bitten 4 separate times, 3 by the same Doberman... a rescue my dad took on. But nearly 30 years later I decided to overcome my fear and now I will speak to and clap almost every dog we meet. Luna is such a great dog who would rather run a mile or 100 to avoid confrontation and doesn’t have a bad bone in her body... unless you are a hoover.
