Introducing yourself (and using the forum in general) is actually pretty simple. But if you havent used a forum before, here is how to make your introduction to get yourself started. First scroll down the page and find the introductions section. Click on this Once you are there, you are in a the introductions 'forum' where you can see all other peoples introductions. You can click to view any of these if you like, but for now, click on "New topic" which is how you will create your own (Ignore the fact I am in the wrong forum here ) From here, creating your introduction is as easy as 1, 2, 3 post Add a title for your…

Hi and welcome to Husky-Owners! This forum was started by myself and my husband Marc in October 2008. I'd just got my first husky, Kimba and wanted to build a forum for like minded husky owners so that we could share our pictures, memories, tears and happiness and everything in between, that comes from being owned by this magnificent breed. I now have 3 gorgeous boys As this place grew, we started arranging meets in local areas which then turned into taking holidays together. We now have "Husky Camp" once a year in the UK and in Iowa in the US where we go on walks, play games, have awards, and at night when the dogs are tired we sit around a camp fire having a drink…

Here's some information that may help you decide to make that commitment. Husky-Owners is the largest forum on the Internet, dedicated to Huskies and their Owners. Husky-Owners is more than just a forum, it is a gathering place where people share their interest in Huskies, help one another when their Husky becomes ill or has a problem, and tell of their experiences that bri…

Hello. I just joined this site recently and wanted to say hi. Huskies are the most wonderful dogs. I just adopted my second one after having my first put down due to illness. My introduction to the breed was through a friend who had 6 at the time. I started by adopting a husky/German Shepherd mix who was found as a stray. A year or so later I adopted a full husky from champion bloodlines and I couldn't have been happier. Unfortunately, he developed cancer in his nasal passages after I had him for about 4 years and had to be euthanized. A friend of mine, who used to breed huskies, had a dog who needed a home. He had been mistreated in …

I lost my beautiful female 14 year old Alaskan Malamute April 7. I asked her after she passed if she wants me to have someone else to send it to me. On April 19 I met a person who had a Siberian Husky who the previous owner let the brother and sister play in the street, they are three months old. The person who sold her to me ended up buying the brother and sister, I bought the sister because I cannot handle having a black and white Husky because my Alaskan Malamute was that color and I just cannot. I have had her know for two days and at first she cowered when I went to pet her and whined all night in her crate. After two days she is doing pretty good, she is my onl…

Hi, I am new here and sought a group for a topic I already posted about. But I will take a moment now and introduce my guys now :) First I have Nalla who is 4 years old. She is 74% husky 18% great Pyrenees and just a smidgen American bull dog! (Someone jumped the fence down the line!) I got her when she was 9 months old, her dad suddenly passed away. Next comes my none husky but an equally good boy. He is 2 years old and was adopted as a lab mix. DNA test says... German Shepard/lab/pit/chow chow/Doberman/ great Pyrenees.. and a bit of a few other things lol. My late fiance named Beebo. Lastly I have my new little boy, at the end of the …

Hello! I am Tobias, and about a year ago I took in a seven month old pitbull-husky mix, Lilypad, from a fosterer who could no longer handle her. She is now a wonderful seventeen month old dog who has been excelling in service training as a deaf alert dog. Her recall is something to laugh at, but she does consistently do alerts for my disability and I've had SO much fun working with her because of her quirks. My future plans for Lilypad include Canicross and distance hiking (Appalachian Trail, most likely), but I need a bit more time for her to grow and then time to condition her. I lost my last canicross dog to old age just two weeks after adopting her, so she has …

Hello! 🐾 I am new to the site and a new Husky Mama. Our pup turns 5 months old on 12/8. Any tips for raising this wild pup are appreciated! I have had a slew of other dogs, mastiff mixes, pure bred rotties and German shepherds, and currently our Husky has a Pitbull Mix older sister. I’ve attached a pic of our smiling pup!

Hello everyone! My name is Nancy. I am owned by a 14 month old male Husky named Ezra aka Ezzie, ZZ, Fluffbutt and sometimes lovingly....HEY, you idiot! Ezra and I met in a Walgreen's parking lot where puppies were being sold. I said to myself, "Nancy? Just drive by and DO NOT STOP! But, I did stop. And there in the corner of the puppy filled crate was a sable and white little guy standing out from the black and whites. I picked him up, and the rest is history. He was only 6 weeks old, and later I read he might have been too young to leave Momma. But, we managed while I became his Mum. Never in my life did I ever THINK about getting a puppy much less a Hu…

Hello everyone, I want to introduce you to Smokey. He is delightful! He is not our first husky but our first with so much personality. He doesn’t talk much but maybe he will in time. We encouraging him to talk but so far he is only talkative to our vet, whom he loves and the mop which he hates lol. He has been an adventure thus far. Since we live in Mississippi we have serious heat and coyote packs so this boy is an inside dog. At 4 months he managed to break his toe during a zoomies breakout, he knocked over a large wood chair and snapped his toe. That was a nightmare for the most part. But last Friday we were able to be cleared. He suffered many infections in his s…

Hey all! My wife and I just adopted Jasmine, she is a little over a year old (according to the shelter). It has only been a couple of days, but we are perfectionists and really want to be sure we are giving her every chance to succeed. Jasmine is very quiet, and almost seems timid, I prefer to use the word wary because you can see the wheels turning, she is definitely smart, but not super outgoing and confident (which I'm told are natural traits in her breed). She NEVER barks, not at dogs, cars, people, anything. Outside she loves to run and is incredibly fast, but inside she takes everything incredibly slowly and gingerly. We can't get her to play much of…

Hi Everyone!I'm new on this site. We're thinking of getting a husky from a shelter soon, (there are so many!) after losing our wonderful Niko a year or so ago. He was found as a stray and had many issues when we got him at a year and a half. But with lots of love, patience and consistency, he became the best dog we've ever had! ❤ So, since I'm suffering husky withdrawals, this is the perfect site!

Hi there, my beautiful Luka is just over 3 years old now. I’m not sure what he is mixed with if he is (haven’t gotten a DNA test) and was wondering if any others out there have a similar looking pup! He has one brown eye and one blue eye

Hi my name is Kirsty. I rescued my Siberian Husky Leila from Manchester dogs home four years ago, and I can honestly say she is the most loyal and loving dog I have ever had. I have been debating whether or not to get another as I have been told they prefer to be in a pack? I have joined the forum to get advice and to meet like minded people who love their huskies as much as I love mine!

hi there, I’d like to know if it is possible to ‘hire’ a husky for a few hours on the 30th October. It is my daughters 12th birthday and she’s asked me if it would be possible for a few hours. We have a Bassett Hound at the moment but my daughter is husky mad and just a few hours would make her very happy. I live in Essex (Woodford), obviously quite willing to pay so please get in touch if you can help at all. Many thanks adam.wolfryd@hotmail.com

Hey Everyone, We have been raising, and then later breeding huskies for over 20 years. We bought our first husky, Sauncere or "Sauncy" in 2002 and she was our world, and we hers. I had always wanted a husky after being stationed in Anchorage, Alaska at Ft Richardson in 1991 and having a chance to watch my first Iditarod race in person. I swore that day that sometime in the future, I would own a husky. Well, we have owned, rescued, raised, and bred many Siberian Huskies since then. We currently have 6 at home. Shona, Crystal, Sheera, Niko, and Spirit. And then we have our Great Pyrenees who protects our farm animals, and the huskies. At least she thinks she is.…

Hi all, I'm melanie I have a 14 month rescue husky shepherd cross ... she is definitely more husky with bright blue eyes, she has a high prey drive and will bolt after anything that moves. We attend training every week and she's beautifully natured in the house but outside she becomes crazy, gets over excited and doesn't listen She therefore can't come off the lead but really needs to run. Any suggestions on how to calm her down and listen to me when we are out. She is very strong and has pulled me over twice so I often walk her with 2 leads, she pulls on the lead which we are working in at training but she's no pleasure to walk at present she's is on high alert all the …

So I thought I would jump on here as it's been well over a year. So all this time later, and the sassy attitude carried on... you tell her no and she back chats every time LOL. I love her to bits. She has such an energetic personality, very loving. She has learnt lots of commands such as sit, down, stay, wait, play dead, speak and to not touch her food until the command word has been said. I also got a dog behaviourist to come out when she was roughly 6 months old to help with some of the training (walking, reactivity etc). My biggest struggle with her currently is still our daily walks. She is super friendly and inquisitive that whenever she sees another dog, or they sta…
