Introducing yourself (and using the forum in general) is actually pretty simple. But if you havent used a forum before, here is how to make your introduction to get yourself started. First scroll down the page and find the introductions section. Click on this Once you are there, you are in a the introductions 'forum' where you can see all other peoples introductions. You can click to view any of these if you like, but for now, click on "New topic" which is how you will create your own (Ignore the fact I am in the wrong forum here ) From here, creating your introduction is as easy as 1, 2, 3 post Add a title for your…

Hi and welcome to Husky-Owners! This forum was started by myself and my husband Marc in October 2008. I'd just got my first husky, Kimba and wanted to build a forum for like minded husky owners so that we could share our pictures, memories, tears and happiness and everything in between, that comes from being owned by this magnificent breed. I now have 3 gorgeous boys As this place grew, we started arranging meets in local areas which then turned into taking holidays together. We now have "Husky Camp" once a year in the UK and in Iowa in the US where we go on walks, play games, have awards, and at night when the dogs are tired we sit around a camp fire having a drink…

If you are viewing this forum and have not signed up to be a member of this forum, we consider you our guest. We'd much rather have you part of the pack, but we understand that sometimes, you just want to find out a little more about this place before you make a commitment. And that's OK. Here's some information that may help you decide to make that commitment. Husky-Owners is the largest forum on the Internet, dedicated to Huskies and their Owners. Husky-Owners is more than just a forum, it is a gathering place where people share their interest in Huskies, help one another when their Husky becomes ill or has a problem, and tell of their experiences that bri…

Lots of things been happening in the last few years so been a bit absent but thought I'd drop in and say hello again to everyone old and new. Can't believe I know some of you loonies over 11 years! For those who don't know me, here's a little summary - I have my four rescue boys now, Peacekeeper Kaviq will be 10 on Wednesday 17th Feb; Dafty Demon is the baby of the bunch at 7 years old; Houdini Anuk, the naughty boy of the pack is 9 years old and Old Man Friar was 16 on New Year's Day but he forgets his age when the harness or food bowls come out. I lost my other oldie on New Year's Eve, Hoyce was nearly 15. I have been owned by this wonderful breed since Feb …

Hello from Southern Maryland, Like I said I just adopted a giant 3 year old, 110 plus pound all white Siberian Husky male with blue eyes. I already knew that I wanted to adopt Romo from e mails and photos and they said he was large. OK.. I figured 70 maybe 75 pounds , heck my Collie Shepherd mix is 67 pounds. When I finally meet Romo in person he is 110 plus pounds, still do not know his exact weight but will this weekend when take him to vet to get up to date on all shots. I had him stand next to my neighbors 90 pound Golden Retriever and he is much much larger. Last owner got him at 8 weeks old and have paper work that both parents were Siberian Husky but no …

Hello! My name is Kate and I live in Australia. I have just recently got my first ever Husky puppy and boy is she full on! She is so beautiful but has a lot of sass for 12 weeks old. My partner and I also have a 6 year old German Shepherd and they both love each other. They are always playing around and having fun. I get stressed out because for now I have to leave her inside the house while our other dog is outside while we are at work. I want her to get a bit bigger before leaving her outside the whole day. I do try and keep lots of toys and kongs with peanut butter and treats to keep her occupied for when she is awake. I had a camera there and she pretty much sleeps mo…

My name is Sitti. Iβm new here. Also, a new owner of a 3month old husky named Pocholo. He is my first pet. I donβt know much about dogs, I did and still do a bit of research though and what ive been reading is making me terrified for years to come because people have been saying that huskies are quite much. Iβve got a few questions, 1. Is it normal that they are erect at this age? Ive noticed that whenever he is erect, he goes absolutely ballistic. Biting things around the house, jumping up and down. Absolutely driving the family crazy. Any tips that can help? 2. When is the best time to get him trained? 3. How many times in a day should he exercise and ho…

So this is my BEAUTIFUL girl.. Her name is Timber. She will be 4 years old this summer and we rescued her as a pup so she's been with us almost her whole life. She is pretty well behaved, a little crazy, but extremely loveable. For most of the huskies I've known, she seems tiny but while I assume she's mixed with some Sheppard, I think there might also be a smaller breed in there somewhere. Maybe Chihuahua with her long straight tail and big ole ears. LOL. Unfortunately, we sold our house last year because the market was just too strong and we needed to upgrade anyways, so for the time being we're in an apartment until the market self corrects. We have …

Hi, my puppy was born yesterday...will bring him home in 8 weeks. His name is Tundra. I wanted something with an association to Siberia...and Gulag was a little harsh. (I AM naming his crate Gulag. "Back to the Gulag, Comrade Tundra") Don't take me too seriously...I am still giddy with the idea of having my puppy.

Hi, new to the forum, my name is Andy and I have a 3 1/2 year old western Siberian Liaka/Husky named Sasha. I got my Sasha from the RSPCA when she had been abandoned for being pregnant, she went on to have eight puppies. She was marked down as a Husky cross, but having spoken to several Russians they've informed me she's definitely a Laika as they have several at home in Russia. This is probably why she was abandoned as she bred with a mastif not another husky. Having had her now for 18months I've come to the conclusion she's certainly different, really well behaved in the house and so gentle, loves to be stroked but not what I'd call affectionate although she does …

Hi everyone! My name is Tarren. My fiancΓ© and I live on the East Coast with our children. We recently added a beautiful new edition to our family in September. His name is Edison (aka Eddy) and he's almost 6 months old. He's (knock on wood) not a talker yet and overall completely mellow. I just wanted to introduce myself and Eddy. Looking forward to future advice!

Hello Husky community, We have just started fostering a 3-year old female Suki (7 days in our home) - she was rescued from a breeding farm here in S. Korea. (the organization that rescued her is worth a look - if your interested and it's allowed I would be happy to pass on info!) Even though we have never had dogs before, we took her because it is very difficult to find foster homes for bigger dogs here in Korea. We happen to live outside the capital, Seoul, and we have access to trails, rice fields, and a park along a canal all near our apartment, so we figured we could take her because we could at least get outside to open spaces We were told by the rescue gro…

She growls and is very posesive towards her toys and food but Iβm working on it. Iβm expecting to get bitten at some point (she has bitten family members in the past). She knows commands and when she gets comfortable sheβs sweet just a lot of energy-she never was taken out to exercise before so now Iβm making her run in the dog park and trying to teach her to walk on leash so maybe she can run with me. She is very smart and is learning. My brother and his girlfriend were talking about taking her back after getting a trainer but do you guys think this could work? I really donβt know much about this. Sheβs unpredictable and already killed a small dog, I donβt trust he…

Hello, My name is Shelley. I live in Northern California. Recently my family (3 college sons, husband and me) adopted a Female Husky from a rescue. She was found during the Northern California wildfires roaming alone, dehydrated, underweight, in heat, dirty and full of stickers. She was taken to an emergency shelter where pets were cared for until their owners could claim and care for them. No one came forward for her. She was in the shelter just over a month. As the shelter closed she was set to be placed in the County Animal Shelter. We were asked to foster and accepted the challenge. We officially adopted her in November. She's scheduled ot be spayed December…

Hello all! We live in Missouri and I just adopted Alpine from a family that could no longer take care of him. I got him in October 2020 at about 8 months old. He is so beautiful and crazy! I love him to death! He does get along with my older dog and my sisters dogs when we go to her farm, I just have to remind him that his sister Dixie (my 12 year old Aussie) gets tired of playing with him very quickly. I have noticed that he likes tearing up plastic grocery bags. He shreds them to pieces! Lol He also seems to have a sensitive stomach. His farts are so smelly! He does well at home not potting in the house, but when we go to the farm he will just pee everywhere. Any advice…

Nice to meet everyone! So glad to find this forum. I have the lovely senior lady, Luna, adopted this year as part of a bonded pair. Her buddy passed unexpectedly, but she has found her inner queen and is adjusting. Even after 40 years with Sibes, I will definitely need some advice on this girl!

Hi all, this is Misha. I grew up with huskies, so when the time came for a new addition, there was no discussion needed, we were getting a husky, especially with 3 kids, 2 of which that are into running and love being outside! Although miss Misha is a mix, mom is a Norwegian Elkhound, she still has all the quirks of a husky And she has her mom's tail, which we all love. Misha was born August 5th, so we are still encountering all her puppy glory, and naughty.
