Hi everyone, my name is Dennis and I found this site and decided to become a member. I love Siberians and had the privilege of owning a beautiful girl named "Nikki" for fifteen years until she passed a year and a half ago. I'm looking forward to sharing information and getting to know other husky owners on this forum. I am now in search of a new Husky puppy. Attached is a group of Huskies that I am interested in . Also attached is a pic of "Nikki" to share. I would like to find a light grey puppy with similar markings as shown in the attached. I live in New Jersey and willing to travel within a reasonable distance to purchase a new puppy. Can anyone h…

My husky is 1yr old now. He doesn't listen to me at all. He's been to puppy bootcamp for 3 weeks. He's great for him, but at home he just does what he wants. Does this behavior subside after he grows up? I've limited his freedom and I try to show him that I'm the leader of our pack but, he thinks he still is!! He's a bit rough when playing and poops and pees whenever and wherever he pleases. We take him out all the time too! I've almost reached the end of my rope. We love him and would never give him up. Help!!

Hello! My name is actually Tami - my husband's and my new puppy we are getting in two days is named Kira. She's currently mostly white with bi-colored eyes. It's been really hot here in Oregon, especially without AC, so I thought if I was a husky, I would be dreaming of winter non stop, hence the name. We are getting Kira from a breeder who, after talking to many, many other breeders, rescues, and humane societies, we decided to land with the one we ended up with for a variety of reasons. First, in Oregon, it's almost impossible to get a puppy from a rescue (the demand is SO high here) when it's your first puppy/dog and you haven't had a dog in the last five year…

Hello, My name is Nomar and I recently picked up Bandit, a male Siberian Husky that is now 7-weeks old. I'm on this forum in hopes to get acquainted with more education and tips on how to handle this type of breed. I must be honest and state it is challenging to say the least. However, here's a photo of Bandit.

Hello everyone! My name is Sapphire and I am from Texas. I have two beautiful husky puppies. I first had the one male, Zakai. About 16 weeks after I had Zakai I thought that he needed a playmate so he wont be so lonely when I'm away at school. So I brought home a 10 week female husky puppy named Periwinkle. Zakai loves to play with Periwinkle. But the problem is that whenever I try to play with him, he does not want to play with me! He would rather play with Periwinkle. After I exercise Zakai and Periwinkle I separate them so I can work with them individually to train. I try to train Zakai using toys and playtime to create a better bond with him but he just wants to leave…

Hi! I've been lurking on this site for a month or so, but thought I would make a profile and introduce my husky! In June, an abandoned husky wandered into our yard. We tried to find her owners for weeks, but (I was truly shocked) no one ever came forward. Since then we've taken her to the vet and welcomed her into our family. Zelda is approx. 8 months to a year old. She's a very good girl--house trained now, learning crate training. She gets along well with my 13 year old Lab-Border Collie, and we've only lost a charger cord to chewing. Anyway, this forum has been a huge help prepping our home for a husky and giving her the best life possible.

Hi! My name is Wendy and we have two beautiful husky puppies. Ginger is 5 months and she is our easygoing one. She is beautiful with brown, red and white markings and sky blue eyes. She loves to play with her little sister and out teenage daughter. Ginger’s sister is Jamison (Jami for short) is three months old and is our spunky one! If there is something for Jami to get into she will! She is just as beautiful as her sister, dark gray and white with sky blue eyes. We live right outside of Denver and we have had our little babies for almost two months.

Hey all! This is Stella, the newest member of our family! Stellas 11 weeks old, and is off to a strong but bumpy start in the week we've had her. When she came to us we immediately noticed something was up with her stools - after a few of not clearing up and mainly our own ignorance "it must be the change of diet" we took her to the vet where they told us she had giardia. 😦 Otherwise Stella seems perfectly healthy and eager to learn and please! So far she's nearly an expert at sitting, stopping, and giving you her attention when her name is called. We're working on stopping this play bitting, and that toys are the only ok thing to chew on. Stellas be…

Luca is almost 5 months old. He is a sweetie except for his biting. Cant seem to stop it.. Oh, and he has now decided that he doesn't like his harness. Literally takes us about 20 minutes to get him in it for a walk🙄🙄

After waiting 2 weeks to pick him up i finally brought Thor home from the adoption center yesterday. They just did the Neutering yesterday a few hours before we picked him up ( Hence the cone. Poor guy). He seems to be getting use to the new area and the other dog in the house very well. I have noticed that he is VERY clingy to me which i know is because he is scared hes going to be left again (which will NEVER happen now that i have him). Is this clinginess normal for Huskies or am i seeing it more because he was rescued ? I'm a new Husky owner but have had few dogs in the past. I do have a couple questions if anyone out there has any suggestions or input. 1…

Hi All - the big plan was to adopt a rescue Husky as part of my active retirement (lucky to be able to go at 55) and so have been doing all the breed due diligence research and getting things ready (watchtower, 12ft high fences, have bought the cement mixer to fill in the flower beds, usual sort of stuff ). Family are all bought in and we are looking forward to the adventure and welcoming the new member of the family. Helpful as ever, eldest son comes home from college and declares that a classmate is looking to rehome their 2 year old Husky as it "belonged" to an elder sibling who is no longer at home and now the dog isn't really getting the level of attention/exerc…

Hi! I just brought home my first husky puppy. Ziva is 8 weeks old, and adorable. Right now she spends a lot of time sleeping, but when she is awake she is a little whirlwind! I did loads of research in preparation for bringing her home. She came from a litter of 9, and all the puppies survived. When I picked her up the breeder explained that she was a little smaller as a result because less room to grow in the womb and less milk to go around from momma, but she is healthy (vet papers to prove). I was wondering if anyone else had experience with this? Will she always stay a little bit smaller than average? Right now she’s always hungry, I’m not sure if that’s no…

Hi all, This is Rocky, our new adorable puppy. He comes home with us next month and we were just curious to know if there are any indicators of how his color pattern will turn out. Any early indicators? Thanks!

Hi everyone, proud new owner of Athena, 12 week old pup. Previously have owned & loved Springers & GSPs, & am terrified of all the horror stories regarding Huskies digging, climbing, escaping etc. Am lucky enough to be retired & give the pup loads of attention, and also walk her twice daily for as long as she wants. She's crate trained already & hasnt been a bit of bother so far. She's amazing. Looking for any advice going forward, esp with the digging/escaping thing. Thanks.

Hi everyone! It’s been a few years since I’ve been on so I’ll reintroduce myself. I’m Jennet, I live in Eau Claire, WI with my husband and our 4 Huskies and 2 Cats. Our pack started with Embry, who now will be 9 in October, Zoey turns 8 in 2 weeks, Ares is 6.5 and baby Murdock is 5.5 months. We recently added Murdock to our pack about a month ago now from a rescue in Minnesota. He is originally from Kentucky but was surrendered to a shelter there because his breeder couldn’t sell him do to a birth defect. Murdock is 100% blind and was born without eyes. He’s still a crazy Husky puppy so don’t feel sorry for him, he doesn’t even know he’s blind! In the last few …

Hey everyone! My name is Aly and I have a 3mo pup named Bowie. I’ve had him for about 3 weeks and we live in Chicago (for now). He is the happiest puppy I’ve ever met and full of energy. Thankful to say my house is still in one piece....as of today [emoji4]. He has definitely mastered his howl and loves attention. I’m excited to learn from you all as this is my first husky! Hello my name is Mercedes, I’m from Fort Worth, Tx. I’m new on here and also a first time Husky owner. I have a 15 month old Husky names Ares! He was pretty much left on my door step by a family member that didn’t want him any more due to his hyper ness. He was givin to me without knowing he had parvo but he pushed through and survived. ❤️ Not 100% sure if he is full bred but still love him to death, no one could really tell me.

Hi, I'm Jamie, we just adopted a Husky/Wolf mix. He's about 18 months old, we believe he is deaf. I'm hoping to learn how to efficiently start training with him. I've taught hand commands to my previous dogs but not sure how to go about it with a pup thats deaf.
