Hi everyone I am new here. My 13 week old husky has short red/brown fur but I’m noticing has some longer white hairs. My breeder said he is going to be standard plush but I am wondering what’s with the longer white hairs. Is it just a transition thing as he grows or did I get a wooly husky? Any thoughts? Photos at the link below. Thank you so much for your help!

Hi My real name is Pete and I added the Brit so you know I'm not from a country with wide open wildernesses. More so as I live in the suburbs of London quite near what used to be the WW2 Hornchurch Airdrome base, now a county park. I've joined this forum because I'm in the process of adopting a rescue dog, a 3 year old Husky cross Marmulte, and awaiting the home visit stage. I have had a rescue dog before, a whippet cross, and he loved the open spaces in the park for running, but its not fenced and I've been warned that like my whippet x, the Husky x Marmulte is a two mode dog. Sleepy (sometime naughty thieving if its not nailed down) pet in the home and the foc…

Just popping in here to say hi. I'm finding it really difficult to adopt a Husky because they all seem to get a ton of applications very quickly around here, so I'm playing with the idea of getting a puppy as well. At the moment I have Soarin, my GSD, who I've had for 3 years now and I've had him since 9 weeks. I'm not super excited about the prospect of waking up at midnight, 3am, and 6am every night to take the new puppy out to go to the bathroom, but I will say after a couple of months, that first night of 8 hours of sleep is both refreshing and terrifying as you wonder if something is wrong (for the first minute). Here's a picture of Soarin though, this was over t…

Hi everyone. I'm fostering a Husky for a dog rescue, he was rescued 3 weeks ago from a life of abuse and neglect, he is a year old, a stunning white Siberian husky with ice blue eyes. Despite his awful start in life he is so trusting and loving. He is currently fostered to me as a critical care placement as when rescued his organs where starting to shut down. I've had him 3 weeks and he is like a different dog already. Big learning curve as I've got a little terrier cross age 10 and 5 rescue cats so a young large all be it skinny husky is a learning curve. I'm hoping to adopt him once he is well enough to be up for adoption.

Hello! My name is Johna & my puppy's name is Draco! He is going to be 2 years old November 19th! My husky is very energetic, doesn't listen very well, jumps a lot, but is super cute! We got him as a rescue at 10 months old and he wasn't trained by his previous owners. He has come a long way in terms of training! I'm excited to peruse this website for tips and tricks on handling my husky!! If anyone has an instagram and wants to follow or see him, his instagram is @dracothehuskyy .

Hi I am Dennis and I found this girl in doggy jail and had to break her out. Newt is 10 months old and loves to play. I have severe PTSD from the Marines and was looking for a future service dog and she was just sitting there looking at me. I took 4 days to get to know her and she came home 3 weeks ago and the fun of training a husky began. She is my doofus. 20190329_105938.mp4

Hi my name is Zach and I have two husky babies Maya who is 6 and Kobe who is 2 and still acts much like a puppy even though he thinks he is super tough. Also in the pictures are my 6 year old golden who wished he had two other Golden’s instead of huskies. Sort of kidding they all love each other but the huskies don’t give my golden any breaks! Anyways I attached probably way to many pictures of Maya and Kobe. I joined because I want to know how to properly care for coats. I have a regular brush, undercoat rake, furminator, blow dryer, so I think I have everything. The problem I am having which isn’t really that big a deal is right before the tail on the top of the back th…

Just stopped in to look around. It's been a good long time since I was last seen in these parts. Zoya is now ten. She tore her second cruciate ligament last fall. Surgery was seccessful, but she re-injured her right rear leg about a month ago. She is still on the mend. Rohn remains his goofy self. Full of vim and vigor. Always wooing at me. The little bugger. Luke, our rescue is always looking for something to catch. Yesterday he treed a neighbor's cat. A few week's back he caught a possum. Two days ago, he took out after a fox. As I get older, I've come to realize that working for a living is not all it's cracked up to be. But having a few dogs in the family makes i…

Hello All! I have owned smart breeds, stubborn breeds, smart/stubborn breeds, but the husky has been an all new challenge like I've never encountered! I've had dachshunds, toy poodle, border collies, helped my ex-husband with pit bulls, catahoulas and black mouth curs. I've had dogo argentinos, a rescued beagle mix and currently a shih Tzu mix and our now almost 5 month old male husky (along with 3 cats ha!). And yes, I had researched huskies prior to getting one, but I had no idea lol! Our husky's name is Apollo. I got him as a Christmas gift for my 10 y/o son (a husky has always been his dream dog). He became part of our family on Dec 23, 2018 at barely 6…

👋 Hello, I’m Rebka. I am now a two-husky mom as we have added a new 8 week old pup. They are doing great so far but I look forward to learning the art of managing two and getting training tips. I’m enjoying reading and learning from the different threads on this site!

Hi, I have two Huskies who are also crossed with Alaskan Malamute. One is almost 10 and the other is 8. I have owned these since little pups. They have followed me on posting to Germany and back and love to pull with the scooter. So I have not joined a site like this before and will be very interested seeing what it's all about however, I was hoping to put a question out to the group, already, about the 8 year old boy dog 'Mav the Spaz'. He has earned that name for walking into trees being nosey. So for the past two years this time of year he seems to get a rash on the top of his back only. The vet thinks allergies to something, which could be the cas…

Hi all, Long time BIG dog owner but now have 2 little "yip yip" dogs and a 3 month old Husky named Koko :) It's been a long time since I have had a long haired dog, in fact they were my first 2 dogs, Old English Sheepdog :) After they passed I got into Rottweilers, Mastiffs and even a Great Dane. Anyway we are actually in Thailand now and it is quite hot, similar to home in Brisbane. Koko has decided it's great fun to put his feet into the water bucket, over and over again before coming inside. Luckily we have all tiles so it's not so bad, just annoying ! What I would like to know is how we can stop this occurring ? Thanks in advance. …

Hi, My name is Adeline and I have two Husky mixes. My oldest is Loki at a year and six months. He is a Rottweiler/Husky (black and brown) and I got him from the pound when he was 8 weeks old. We consider Loki a certified genius. Never in my life have I met and animal so inept to doing the craziest things he has done. My other one, and youngest, is Jubilee. The breeder said she was a Wolf/Husky mix (white and gray). She is 6 months old and we got her from the breeder at 5 weeks. It has been a very rough time with Jubilee. She got very sick a few weeks after we got her. We are so happy that she is here today. Aside from that they both have been very happy and healthy p…

Hi all, I’m new here and have loads of questions! First though, we adopted my girl almost 2 months ago. Told between 1-2 years, vet thought more like 8 months old making her about 10 months now... Shadow greets every human with jumps and loving, but has strongly snapped at dogs. This has made me extremely nervous, so I’m avoiding dogs completely but really want and need to get over it! I’ve got her a harness and a Halti now, and a 1:1 trainer because I’m scared to take her to a class. I’m not sure if she still doesn’t know her name or if she’s choosing when to hear me. Guess I haven’t asked a question yet... so... is there a favourite type or brand of harness …

Hi! I am Sarah, and I live in Northern Illinois. My husband and I bought our husky in July 2017, when she was approximately 8 weeks old. We wanted a dog that was different than what we had ever owned before. We absolutely love our girl, Nanook, and think she is a great fit with our family. I look forward to connecting with everyone.
