I noticed this morning that my new puppy fell over for no apparent reason when greeting my mum. She was asleep and woke up and went over to say hi and fell over. It was only once. But as I couldn’t see any reason for it (she wasn’t jumping or running and she was on carpet so I don’t see how she could have slipped). I know when we play in the garden and she is running she has been slipping and falling over but I put that down to wet grass and her being super excited. I guess the question here is can your dog fall over randomly for no apparent reason without it being a reason to visit the vet? Are dogs like us - I may wake up dizzy - possibly lose my bal…

A few months ago I adopted my little husky Koda and, at the time, had been told he was grey and white in color. It seemed likely then though it would appear his coat has darkened as he has gotten older so I was hoping I could get a a bit of insight from other husky owners! I was wondering if maybe he would be considered agouti however remain unsure even after some more research. Below are some pictures of him then and now!IMG_4465.HEICIMG_4464.HEICIMG_5317.HEICIMG_5312.HEIC Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Koda, my five month old, has darkened as he has gotten older and we had considered him grey and white at first though I'm not sure that is correct now. The fur on the base of his ears and lower on his legs has been cream since he joined the family and that hasn't changed while his face and back have darkened considerably. I have also noticed that it seems more like the tip of his fur is black while it is more cream at the base. I was hoping I could get a bit of help from other husky owners! Below are some pictures of my boy at eight weeks and now!

Hello I’m new to this website! My husky Skye has just had a litter of pup, she had 8! Skye and the pup are all healthy thankfully. Mum Skye is a pure white husky and Dad is a brown husky. 4 of her pup are jet black with very little grey on there cheeks and white on there chest. And 2 I think are sable? And one agouti? Would love your opinion:) and one is black and white:)

Hi everyone! I'm adding a new puppy to the family and I'm wondering what color you all think he will be? The breeders said possibly agouti. I have some pics when he was born and 2 weeks old. I'm waiting on new pics now. In the first pic he is the dark male with the wider blaze.

Hey, what's up guys! So I'm a little disappointed in myself as I feel I have not trained my husky well and have set him up for failure, even though I did everything I researched and studied, he just turned, 14 months. Here's the thing; I went over to my friends house who has a golden-doodle who is roughly the same age as my husky, and I was blown away by the difference in behavior between mine and his. Soon as I entered the dog seemed happy to see me but nothing jumpy or too crazy, then went to lay around in the living room. While at his place, the dog minded his own business and rarely came to bother me. Then, when we were eating, there was pizza, drink…

Just got our little pup last night. And I’ve noticed that when she lies down to rest her little chest seems to be going up and down fast. She seems to be breathing fast and her heart beat feels fast. However she looks perfectly relaxed and isn’t acting in anyway to make me think there is anything wrong. But Flash was already 10 months when we got him and a big doggy and she is 2 months and little still.

First of all sorry if I badly titled this thread, I am extremely upset as today my Flash passed. I can’t imagine him not being there when I go home now and when the time is right if I can bring myself to do it I would like another doggy. I want to call him/her Flash Junior - just because we neutered him and it breaks my heart that such a good well natured dog wouldn’t have puppies and be a daddy. I want to make sure if we get another dog we honour him appropriately. Flash was a huskamute, white with grey on his back and tail and two blue eyes; I definitely think having had him I’d like another husky and/or cross. But aware that he succumb to cancer an…

My sibe is hairy Houdini. I have 6ft fencing yet he still gets out. I continually fix the fence plus wire it up in front of the fence plus huge rocks in front so he cant dig. He gets plenty of exercise my hobby is long distance walking. It's not a boredom issue either. I think he escapes as I live in a rural area we have livestock around us plus a lot of wildlife. I know Huskies are escape artists but mine is a professional escape artist! As soon as I fix one escape route he will find another. He got out the other day and came back out of breath I checked him for blood mainly as we have sheep , geese hens etc nearby. I'm wondering how others in the UK have combatted th…

So we are new to having a Siberian. We also own a small Malachi pup. The pup gets so frustrated and barks a lot along with growling at the new husky. The husky is very playful and has shown no intention of hurting the pup. Anyone have tips on how to get the smaller dog to calm and play. He is like this with other dogs?

Hey guys, literally just got back from a walk with him and super frustrated. These past months the walks have gotten worse and worse and so has his behavior. He is 14 months. I walk him on a choke chain by the way, and he pulls sometimes not always. But anyways today he started pulling so i made a turn 180 walk walked the other way which gave him a correction, he then started to pull again a few times after a couple minutes, this time I made a REALLY firm correction when walking the other way which made him gag and choke a bit after......But even after that a couple minutes later he started to PULL AGAIN?!?!WTF!! ' Another instance, he lunged at a dog so i …

It's very cost effective for me, as I would only use it for 20 minutes a day at most. I just want something to slow Echo down a bit (and give her a job!) on our walks to the park... she runs around on her 50 ft lead at the park and has a playdate with a Beagle every night, but she is so anxious to get there, that the walk there is a nightmare to say the least (the walk back is nice, as she's good and tired!). Honestly, it may be a short 10 minutes there, but it seems to take forever, and after working a full…

I am going to check out a new secure dog field around half an hour from me called Lytham dog fields (what it is called on Facebook) - its a farm - has several fields - but also has one with 6ft fencing and also an indoor area for when the weather is bad. Both are secure for houdini huskies according to the owner. The indoor area looks like a horse training arena. Charge for sole use is £6 for half an hour or £10 per hour. If OK will be going with our dog trainer to work on recall with both dogs - after they have had half an hour to run themselves silly. Will let you know what it is like in case anyone is around this area.

Rumo and I were jogging down a long and very steep hill today on our walk. . I said to him, “this would be such a great hill to sled on when it snows!” I imagined the sled flying down the long hill, picking up speed...then I imagined it with huskies running in front ( of course) and I was like, wait, I would run right over the rear pair of huskies, and have a big crash! so do the sleds have brakes? How do you keep from running over your dogs on a long steep icy downhill?

I have a labxhusky which my family and I adopted a couple of months back. I have a lot of experience with Labradors, but Huskys' - total greenhorn! There are definitely some 'elements' of our boy that are unfamiliar territory to me! So, what would be your need-to-know info for a newbie like me? Can be silly, can be serious!

We have a rescue 6 week old husky puppy, her mother had ran away and the owners had abandoned her, we got her last Friday and she’s put on 700g since we got her she’s gone from 1.6kilos to 2.3kilos. We got her when she was 5 weeks and now she’s 6 so is 2.3 kilos a healthy weight for a 6 week old little girl?

Hello everyone, today we had our 2 year old male husky neutered, ( he was a rescue dog and we adopted him a couple weeks ago), unfortunately the extremely rude Vet didn’t give us any information regarding the healing process and do’s and don’ts with walking etc and the differences with pretty much everything during his recovery, I’ve done some research and have got some information but would like to get some information from the forum, from personal experiences with the process and the things you had the change during there recovery. Thank you!
