I need help!! Within the past several weeks, my husky's coat stink so bad even after her bath. It is a foul, rotten smell. First, I thought it was of her damped coat, so I try to dry her off more and even put a fan point to her crate for 2 hours to dry off her coat, but it doesn't help. I normally take her to a dog park once or twice a week. And like any other husky, she loves her fair share of play time in the doggie pool. Although the water there isn't very clean, I never had this issue with the smell before. The only thing out of ordinary is------As soon as her coat started to stink, she had a red eye and sneezing all around. I took her to the Vet and put her o…

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding flea/tick prevention. I was curious as to what you all use for such. Topical, pill, collar? Right now my pup is only 5 1/2 months and obviously still growing. But I’m not sure what to use. She’s so fluffy and it’s very difficult to apply the topical. But with the collar and pill, she could grow out of the coverage since shes just a pup (which i guess she could do the same with the topical). I’m just not sure what’s the best way to go and what brands. I’ve found quite a few that are fairly cheap but wonder if they work as well as others. I want her to have something obviously. Just trying to figure out what’s best. Thanks in ad…

Can someone tell me what color my 2 and a half week old pup is. I thought he was just black and white but his face is pretty dark and he has some off white. Also his hind legs have some grayish coloring right behind the black. Here’s some pictures.

Hi all! I am a new first time husky owner 🥰😍. My girl Nova was adopted and her age is a guess. She is estimated 4.5/5 months old. She is a bieyed wolf masked angel rescued from Nunavut. Any knowledge about her coloration and markings would be awesome.

When we picked up Loki we were told that we could trace him back to Togo. When we received his AKC papers in the mail today , I started researching from Loki's AKC paper and Togo was 24 litters ago on Loki's Dad's side. We have had Loki for 9 days now. The first week was alot of adjusting having a puppy in the house and it made for a rough week. This second week is going much better, and he acts like he is more comfortable with us now. Husky's are no doubt everything we were told, smart and stubborn. He has been doing a very good job going to the backdoor to be let out, and he has thrown a couple of temper tantrums. Lol. He has a big personality, and howl for a 7 week ol…

Hi all. First a big thanks for an awesome place. My wife and I are now in a position where we could give a forever home to a Husky. The wife works shifts (NHS) but I am lucky to work from home with occasional visits to the office which normally require an over nighter but is commutable in a day. We do have a local kennels that does day/overnight boarding. Researching the breed tells me that they are a nightmare. They wreck your house, they talk 24/7, they only do what they want, they need horrendous amounts of exercise and we need to turn our garden into a maximum security prison exercise yard, and yes we still want one. Does anyone know of …

I just adopted a german shepherd (Sora) a few weeks ago to have as a playmate for our siberian husky (Yuki). While walking, Yuki continues to nip at Sora's neck whenever she begins to lead the walk in front of Yuki, which is problematic. A small dominance struggle ensues as Yuki continues to make it known she's the leader of the 2. I want to be able to walk and maybe even run these 2 together in harmony at some point, but I need to stop yuki from nipping at Sora's neck every time she begins to inch forward. Since they are leading, they are out of arm's length for me to be able to break it up fast enough. Does anyone have any suggestions that would allow them to walk…

Hello, I am really looking into different rescues for my beautiful husky. We love him and want him to go to a good experienced home. Unfortunately our kids are having health issues and in and out the hospital and we are unable to give our fur baby the attention he should have. This is a very stressful time, does anyone know of any well known and good rescues for huskys? We want to make sure he goes to a loving home not just any home.

So I am adopting a 2yr old siberian husky mix (not sure what the mix is though) from our local animal shelter. I will put up a picture of her soon. I won't be getting her for about a week because she will be getting her shots and will be speyered but we are waiting for an appointment. So I want to husky proof my backyard. We do have planters and some have a 2 foot fence if i am correct but we don't want her digging up the plants because we have a pool built in. Also should I be putting a fence around the built in pool??? Our walls that surround the yard is made of brick and is about 6 feet high, but if she gets to the area where the planters are its about 4 feet i beileve…

Need your help! Owner knows the mother is pure bred but says it's 50/50 if the father is a pure husky or a totally different type of dog. The vet examined the entire liter (8, the mother bred with a pure husky and a stray) and said couldn't determine and put on paper which are pure breds and which are not. I know this guys ears are erect and some of the other siblings ears were not straight and more point to the side (I read the 2 main things AKC looks for to see a pure bred are the ears and the eyes) but not sure if it's erect enough. What do you guys think?

Hi All, We are the proud new owners of a beautiful husky. We are so fortunate to have found a year old girl that has a good start on training. However the one area we are working on is being on the lease for walks but my husband and I are both retired and have the time and patience to work with her. My only concern is we have only had her for about 5 days and we have not left her alone at all. We want her to be completely conformable with her new surroundings. But this morning it dawned on me that we may be spoiling her a bit. We may be retired but we are a very social couple and go out multiple time a week. Now that she lives with us she is completely an indoor pup. We …

Just seen a article in Daily Mail online about GOT star berating people for getting Huskys. Ive written a comment or two plus adding recommendation to look in our site here for info. Also added bit about Brexit as it a reoccurring theme of intrest in the comments. ( the banning of high powered vacumn cleaners by EU)

My husky pup is 4 months old in a couple days (we guess as she was a rescue and we got her at 5weeks possibly less the vets think). She already weighs 15kg/33lbs she’s not overweight the vets said her body proportions are pretty much perfect, but does this mean she’s going to be a big husky? IMG_0575.MP4
