Hi,

I have two Huskies who are also crossed with Alaskan Malamute. One is almost 10 and the other is 8. I have owned these since little pups.

They have followed me on posting to Germany and back and love to pull with the scooter.

So I have not joined a site like this before and will be very interested seeing what it's all about however, I was hoping to put a question out to the group, already, about the 8 year old boy dog 'Mav the Spaz'. He has earned that name for walking into trees being nosey.

So for the past two years this time of year he seems to get a rash on the top of his back only. The vet thinks allergies to something, which could be the case as I have left the RAF and now into a new house/garden. I thought it may be Ivey as he scratches his back on it however, I blocked it of and it still came back. The rash ends up over his whole back and bacterial mouse seems to clear it up. Just want to find the cause.

I will upload a pic and hope someone else may know exactly what the issue is? May be a deficiency?

Thanks for reading.

Andy.

No not been tested for allergies. It seems to start like this maybe not as red as I think he has nibbled in and hair comes out with dandruff type skin on the end.

I researched hot spots before but will like at the eczema.

Thanks.

Hi from another husky owner in Lancashire.   It does possibly look like a hot spot.  I would try an allergy test to find out if there is anything particular that may be causing it   -  my boy is allergic to 9 different foods.    There is a site called  Dogsnaturallymagazine  (American)  -    https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/   that is packed with hundreds of articles on differing conditions and natural solutions, -  it may be worth checking out.    Costs nothing to join at the lower levels and it does give you access to quite  a bit of information.

Allergies manifest themselves in many different ways  -  hot spots is one,  my boy got bleeding ulcers and was vomiting blood.
