Just back from cuddles with 'Gizmo' at the rescue centre before he comes home .... He's going to be our first Husky ....any suggestions/tips from others who have adopted/rehomed from rescue centres on how to settle him and get through first few days. Just don't want it to be too traumatic for him with having lots of recent changes. Thanks Hayley Sent from my A60Pro using Husky Owners mobile app

Hi, This is the story about my 6years old malamute/husky that we adopted since 3 weeks ago.. @alaskanmalamut_kyto for updates Everyone who has followed our story the last few days knows that Kyto has been abused 3 times by several owners (heavily abused) and neglected, he also lived outside, in all weather, in a very small bench in which he spent more than 8 hours a day locked up! (I think it's terrible). These owners also brought him back three times to the shelter, each time at a different location for different reasons. Now we have Kyto with us for 3 weeks and we are still very happy with that to date. When we wanted to adopt him, Kyto was …

Hello, everyone. Let me start by saying that we don't have a husky just yet. We lost our baby boxer boy Jax that we had for 9 years on June 28th of this year. He lost the fight with Lymphomia after 3 months. We lost our first boxer Max back in May of 2010. After losing 2 boxers within 10 years due to Lymphomia we are not wanting to get another boxer. We have 2 other dogs, a 9 year old female beagle/daschund mix, and a 4 year old male daschund. We are not ready to get another dog yet, but we have put down a deposit to get put on a waiting list for a Siberian Husky. We were told that we would not be able to get one until around Christmas time, or the beginning of next yea…

I just rescued what was said to be a pitsky (pit bull daddy husky mommy) puppy from going to pound or worse. Shes 10weeks old and doing well with my dog, very curious and chases cat. Ive been told by 2 separate husky breeders when she hits at least 6months she will get ahold of and Kill my cat as they have extremely high prey drive. I was planning on fostering her until she was fully vetted but of course am shifting towards a foster fail, but hearing this about my cat im very leary. Any comments?????

Hi my name is Keith and I'm from Derby. My son has bought a Dirty faced Siberian Husky who we have called Jet. He came kibble and can fed but a week later I transitioned him to raw and now he's doing really well. I came to research zinc supplements as I have found out they can sometimes be deficient. Happy New year to you all. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Hi, I’ve visited this forum in and off since I got my husky a year ago. I have a shepherd husky mix (Blaise, 2 years, male) and a Husky (Nora, 1 year, female) Don’t mind Blaise’s depressed look. I guess he didn’t think picture taking was fun that day!

We aren’t new to Huskies, but when our last one died (14 years ago) he took part of my husband’s heart. We now have a bonded pair who are almost 10 months old. Thor and Loki. Plus we have an 11 yo Aussie named Pippa who hates their guts... She was mourning her brother’s death when we got the pups so we thought she’d bond with them, but sadly she hasn’t. I guess I don’t have a lot of questions - just introducing myself. ☺️

I have been around huskies at rallies, sledding in Finland so understand the breed and what they require... now is the hard part of finding a reputable breeder and a pup that will fit into my odds n' bods pack! Hi all. I have a 3 year old wooly husky named Miya. I adopted her a year and a half ago and wish I’d found this sooner! I love having a husky but didn’t realize how much there was to know about the breed. Here’s to learning more, cheers!

I love the breed and all the goofiness that goes along with it. While they’re a lot of work to train, it’s well worth it in the end. My real question is the type of husky that our new little one is. I never realized that you have the regular, shorter haired ones, plush and wooly. After a little research I see a lot of people saying that wooly huskies shouldn’t be bred and I don’t have any plans on breeding mine at all anyways. I’m hoping that a few more experienced owners/breeders can weigh in and tell me if they think mine is a wooly or not. I know it’s tough to tell because she’s 14 weeks old right now so she’s still 100% puppy, floof and all!

Hi, my name’s Craig and I just accidentally discovered this forum by accident while looking up photos of huskies which might look good as iPhone wallpaper. I’m an artist, and I had a purebred Siberian Husky for 15 years. I named him Skywise. I love animals and have had many different kinds over the years, including several dogs and cats of all kinds. But none of them ever came close to being as spectacular as Skywise was. It’s hard to briefly describe here without going into the whole story, but after trying to prepare myself for raising a baby male husky with both personal experience and books on the breed back in 1991, nothing could prepare me for ho…

Hello my name is Miguel, My husky is 4 years old i rescued him 2 years ago and we have been dealing with seasonal allergies for 2 years . We did an intradermal skin test and he is possitive for several allergen like: trees ( oak mix, white pine and box elder), weeds, molds And housedust mite. He has been treated several time for secondary bacteria infections because of the allergies, he is under medication with Oral allergens for SLIT, in my opinion the oral allergens is making him more ichi and the apoquel is not working anymore at this time im giving him antibiotic ,benadryl and steroids. It is frustrating to have him under medication all th…
