The dog in a very good shape and a healthy too. now he doesn't eat must of the food that i was giving him. is there any way or anything that can make him feel secure and able to trust me...

I thought that it would be a good idea to make a post that asks a question for the mind. These will just be some FYI questions about some knowledge on, but not limited too, Siberian Husky. I will supply my resource in which i got my answer from. This is just to test our general knowledge in a fun way and for some of us to go "i didn't know that" This form is not by any means to be a thread for arguments. Enjoy!

The other day my wife and I walked to the local dog park and let R'wick loose. He met up with some dogs and they just milled about sniffing butts. Then one started barking at R'wick and chased him and wouldn't let up. R'wick's a big baby and will start to whimper at the least sign of aggression from another dog so he starts to whimper and look for a way out. The dog's owner says oh, so-and-so is just trying to get your dog to play. So I didn't do anything to stop it. But after R'wick responded back to the dog with barks, my wife pulls R'wick away and tells me she doesn't want him to bark at others to get them to play since there's no need. Here'…

Maddie is usually very affectionate, loves and demands attention and contact. She is certainly a social husky. At bed time, she usually gets into bed with me, cuddles for a few minutes and then gets off and sleeps in the corner (until about 5 am when she gets into bed again a leans against me until I get up). Last night, I went to get her into bed (verbally said, okay Maddie, let's get into bed) she woke up and she snarled at me. I have never seen this before. I scolded her verbally and then she got into bed. She was really tired. She put herself to bed a couple of hours earlier. Was this a case of let sleeping dogs lie, or should I be concerned. She has never done this a…

I just finished bathing the pups little over 30mins ago! It's coming into winter and today was a nice day to give them a bath before it gets too cold. There's just one thing.. I had a few people knock on my door asking what i am doing to my dogs and they'll call the rspca??? I said to them nicely "i'm only bathing them".. although they didn't believe me even if i where covered in water from head to toe! This was Joey's 3rd bath since me owning him and Zarly's second, the breeder never washed them! I have a big tub which i put them in and they stand there in the warm water while i wash them, then i hose them off, …

There have been a few questions recently from people looking for outdoor runs. I have bought these both in the US and the UK. Here are the links for the two that I have used. I stand by them both as they both lasted years and managed to keep my two Houdini wannabes inside. They are easy to assemble and as they are of a panel construction you can add on or make smaller as required. In the US http://www.tractorsupply.com/pet-care/pet-containment/pet-kennels-pens/welded-wire-kennel-10-ft-w-x-10-ft-l-x-6-ft-h-3606740 In the UK http://www.croftonline.co.uk/mcp/Dog_Runs.html I have always used these with them on a hard sta…

Hi, Yesterday I went for a walk with Athos and he was bitten by nose by another dog. I heard that being bitten by the nose is very traumatizing for dogs. He got a scratch which is almost healed, but I wonder if this will have any negative repercussions. If the answer is yes please tell me what to do in order to prevent them. Now he doesn't seem depressed or something like that, the only problem is that he doesn't listen to me when we go for walks and he pulls me like I were a sleigh 10x

I sometimes freelance as an outdoor adventure guide and rock climbing guide, so I do a lot of hiking, scrambling, and backpacking. I always take my dog Polar with me on these adventures, and when she's old enough I want her to help carry her own water and food. I was on the market for a good dog pack, after doing a lot of search and reading owner reviews, I decided to get the Palisade pack by Ruff Wear. I had to order it in the US and wait for a friend to bring it to China for me, so it took a while to get. But when I received it I have to say I'm very happy on my first impression. At $125 USD, this is probably the most expensive dog pack on the market, but you are in ess…

Ugh, so many things to learn about puppies. We went to a different pet store than usual and they didn't have the brand of pet-food that R'wick had gotten used to so we bought one (I don't even remember the brand now) that seemed okay after checking out the ingredients. At the same time, my wife wanted salmon kibble as treats so we bought a smaller bag of Taste of the Wild which said they were for all ages including puppies. Well, even after switching the food slowly R'wick had soft stools that verged on the runny for the whole time (three weeks). Finally in frustration, we decided to switch back to the Eukanuba large breed that gave him hard compac…

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas/tips to help us with toilet training the two munchkins. We have them trained so that they will use the puppy training pads in the house rather than going wherever (the majority of the time) They will go in the Garden if they're out there long enough, but they do like to hold it then do it on the training pad when they come back in the house I've tried putting training pads in the garden to try and encourage them to go outside, but they just shredded them up If anyone has any ideas or tips they would be much appreciated!

Just a quick question. When pups mature and their coat changes, do they become itchy or show any signs or? Being a new owner to the breed i figured i'd ask some questions to get more of an understanding. <3 xxx

I was just thinking about some of the behavior that i allow Lana to perform when she is riding in the van with me and/or my family. When it is just me and her she will sit in the front seat with her dog seat belt on, however when the family gets in the far she is in the middle or more likely walks free . She 9 out of 10 times will just say right behind my seat. My wife and I have notice that she has more often than normal started to hope in the front seat despite the family getting in the car. Then when she is corrected and instructed to get in the back she soaks. We have thought about get thing gate thingy that prevents a dog from coming past a certain distance i…

Ok so we bought chloe 2 weeks ago and she is only 10 weeks old. The breeder we bought her from has 2 bitches left. I know huskys are pack members and love the company so we are wondering if we should buy one of her sisters to keep her company?

Hey everyone, so I want to get a husky, and I found someone with puppies down the road from me, they look so cute but dont seem to remind me of the classic black and white fluffy husky puppies, so if anyone here can look at the picture of the puppies and let me know how they look and how their coats will turn out? I really dont want to just jump into buying a puppy thats not 100% the one I want

Attila is 10-months and loves drinking. He'll go to his bowl every chance he can. Even when the bowl is gone he'll search for it and then sit, waiting for it to be refilled/replaced. I'm a rookie husky parent. Should I be concerned with how much he's drinking? He urinates routinely and it's always clear, so I assume he's hydrated. His poops were runny when we first got him, but now they are solid and normal looking. The air in the house doesn't feel dry and is kept at or below 70F. Thanks!

We just recently bought a product called the rapid bath pet bathing system and it is great! It connects right to your shower and uses 3 settings to get your dog clean. The first has the soap and water, the second is a high power jet and the third is a lower powered jet for the face and sensitive areas of the dog. Pongo definitely tolerates the bath better now that we have it because there is no loud noise from the water spigot. It makes cleaning him much easier than by hand because we couldn't get down to his undercoat. I think it's definitely worth a try since it cuts bath-time in half! Here is the link to the site, definitely check it out! We're glad we did! http:/…
