just wanted to know how long did your husky's appetite went down. Meaning how long did he/she skipped meals or didn't eat as much as she used to. Thank you ^_^

While reading some news online I came across this and of course I wanted to share but was also wondering can I train Kiana to do this but with verbal commands like in sledding? I'm a total no nothing when it comes to working dogs like this so any and all advice is greatly appreciated. http://www.king5.com/news/pets-and-animals/Does-your-dog-need-exercise-Take-him-scootering-90047942.html

Hi All, We have 2 female Siberian Huskies. Maddi is 4 yo, Mishka 1 yo. Mishka has a bad habit of eating mud. She is very prolific and determined, and will swallow down large lumps of it (if we don't get it off her quick enough) They are both on the same diet. Orijen Dry food, mixed 50/50 with mature diet wet food, so we doubt it's a nutrient deficiency but anything is possible. Maddi has not had this trouble previously but she has started to join in the 'game' but isn't anywhere near as bad as Mishka. Any suggestions/thoughts please? Many Thanks Marty&Carole

hi all experienced husky owners I would like to ask for your advice. I have just bought a husky pup about 5 days ago. We live in malaysia in a high humidity country when i first bought her she really smelled bad. took her to the vbet and the vet said she had dandruff problems. Took her home and saw a lot of fleas. So we got some frontline and sprayed her coat with it. two days later i took her for a bath. she smelled fine for two days and now shes starting to smell again. Should i bathe her again so that the dandruff shampoo can start to kick in or is it too soon. and if i dont shower her what else can i do to try and solve the …

Hi, On Wednesday we will be bringing home a re-home. She is 3 years old and has been spade. From what the breeder has been telling us she has been to 4 homes and come back each time due to various issues. Our current Husky is a female, 11 months and still intact. Can you guys and gals provide tips on successfully integrating these two together?

Hello all, my husky is now 18 weeks old. And I'm looking to buy him a new lead, I'm looking for a strong, long lasting one. Its just for when i take him on walks, when we go to the park we go to the fenced section so I can let him off his lead without any worry. I was looking at the halti training lead; is it any good? Also need some advice on which collar to get, he tends to pull. And would a harness be better? I'm not keen on the head collars. Lastly, I feed him raw meat, normally chicken i try to vary it - its normally the legs and wings can i give him it with the bone? Just a bit concerned for when it has to come out don't want him to hurt himsel…

So as you guys know I want a Husky of my own but right now with roommates who already have one. They also have two cats. The husky(she) will get aggressive and attack the cats. When the cats are not there, sometimes me and some of us in the home. Usually its easy..she'll try to bite, you just move your hands etc and she seems to stop...but still seems edgy/aggresive. I knew she would not listen when I asked her to "sit" and she wouldn't. She has listened before..but I've noticed she only listens when she has no food. She is aggresive then but she listens so she can get it. Otherwise, forget it. Any t…

We're planning on going hiking on Memorial Day weekend (weekend of May 31st) and would like to bring the dogs with us, as we think they'll love it. We'll be hiking Cascade Mountain, one of the high peaks in the Adirondacks (elevation of 4098 ft, ascent of 1940 ft, and total distance of 4.8 miles). The hike takes about 5 hours, average (we can do it faster), and is the easiest high peak to do. But we weren't sure if Kahtadin will be old enough for something that long. He'll be 11 months old then. We do take him on a half hour walk in the evenings, that's about 2 miles but it's all flat. Haley should be fine, she goes on the walk with Kahtadin and then goe…

I have a young male husky named Dante who is around 1 year and 5 months old. He is probably one of the BEST companions I have ever had BUT as soon as I leave him alone he becomes a disaster! I come home and the carpet is ripped up, he has gone all over the house, he rips down blinds, he has chewed up a cell phone and a remote control and dvds and you name it he has gotten a hold of. We tried crating but he eats all of the hair off of his tail, and he chewed a hole in the side of the plastic crate which was against the couch and he ate the arm of the couch. He bent the bars of the metal cage and cut himself. I have tried calming pills, calming collars, some kind of calming…

Okay so I have a beautiful Husky I love him with all of my heart but sometimes he makes me mad as hell. He seems to be breaking ALL of his chains and collars which that would not be such an issue since we live out in the country, but it is we have a neighbor whom is a preacher and he tries to shoot my baby boy, so the point of this is does anyone know of a really good sturdy chain and collar so my baby does not get loose. Thanks

Just wondering, How many people use flea and tick med? What brand do they use? I use K9 Advantix What is the difference from the more expensive flea and tick med from the cheaper one like Biospot? Biospot cost about $15 for 6 months and K9 Advantix cost $80 for 6 months.

okay so i have a video of how my 7 month old Sibe, Embry and my 10 month old kitten, Ash play. They were introduced to each other as puppy and kitten, Ash was here 3 months before Embry so we never had a problem with them together except for when Embry has a bone and the kitten goes up to him and Embry will growl, but never bites. When they play, they bite each other, Embry never actually bites down though. The cat will attach himself to Embrys bandanna or collar and Embry drags him around, it's actually really funny. But when they play neither of them growl/hiss and neither of them ever whimper or cry so I'm assuming that they don't hurt each other. Also it's …

Well i've noticed Sky sometimes coughs after he drinks, not every time but enough for me to notice, it's literally just one sort of cough /throat clear. He's never sick or brings anything up and never does it when he eats or anything. I've checked his throat and kinda pushed on it a little and rubbed it and he isn't bothered or doesn't do anything, he walks on a harness so it's not that he's pulling on a collar and doing something. I kinda put it down to being a puppy and or drinking too fast !!! It's doesn't seem to get any worse it just seems to be random. I've had a bit of a poke around on the internet and seen suggestions of raising the water bowl ?? just wondered if …

I've read huskies tend to like other dogs around them to have as companions. i would be around a lot and the rest of the time my brother would be, so the husky would never be alone, but I guess having another dog to play with sometimes is also an option. What other breed would compliment a husky? Maybe some breed that's less evil? hehe just kidding

I have a 3 year old husky and a 4 year old boston terrier. We decided to get a cat but every time the cat and husky are in the same room he tries to bite the cat. I know they don't usually like cats but is there anything i can do to get the dog to not bite the cat? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I'm currently thinking about getting a Husky. I'm in talks with a breeder who is due a litter in June and I'm giving this some big consideration, but want to do my homework first. I've always wanted a Husky, I think they are amazing and their looks are so striking. We have a Husky in the village and its such a lovely dog. One thing I read a lot about is, the dogs pulling, or people saying they can't ever be let off leads in public. Do any of you let your dogs off leash? How well to they respond to you calling them back? I would imagine a lot of this is down to how well the dog is trained, but rule of thumb is it ever a good …

So i am planning to get a Husky in hopefully 3-5 months time. How much do you spend on food and what kind of diet? Am i right to assume that feeding a "raw" diet can get pretty expensive?

Time for another product review me thinks. Product Name Cat Product Description Feline Mammal often known as 'Pussy Cat' to the female in our species or 'Go away you annoying little ****' to males. Positives These toys can be fun for our huskies, ensuring exercise whilst chasing. Along with this it can engage a huskies more natural side. These toys are good for the teeth and unlike other toys on the market today can be put in the category of 'Highly Nutritious'. Negatives Occasionally these toys can scratch your pets face, body and occasionally paws/legs, and therefore care…

OK, well I have been studying my huskies coat. She has beautiful soft fur over her head, neck and down to about her shoulders. Then it becomes coarse and the ends are kind of kinked. Now I have realized she has no guard hairs over her whole back, hind end and tail I think she must have been shaved at some point and is in the process of regrowing her coat. I am wondering if there is someone whose dog has been shaved for whatever reason (surgery etc) who would have some idea how long it would take for the coat to grow back to where it looks normal. The fur over her back isn't that much shorter than over her shoulders but just doesn't have the soft, longer hairs. The guar…

So while my boyfriend and I were at work tonight, Embry decided to get himself into some trouble and have the cat knock down a bag of jellybeans and a bag of M&Ms from the top of the dresser. In result, Embry ate the entire bag of jellybeans and probably, maybe 10? M&M's. When we got home there were three spots were he threw up, then he threw up again on our bed after we were home for a few minutes, and then again five minutes ago in the bathroom. He is acting like his normal, annoying self. I'm not to worried about him dehydrating since he has been drinking nonstop. He only seems to throw up when he gets really excited and starts running around. Also i felt his n…
