:anyhelp:My male dachshund Peanut HATES having his nails cut! I have no idea what to do!!! Every time I take him to the pet stores to have his nails cut, they bring him right back to me and tell me they're unable to cut his nails. He freaks out and starts nibbling and crying and wiggling.....I dunno what to do! Is there something I can do to calm him down so he can have his nails cut? They need to be done pretty badly....any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated....thanks!!! (There's probably a simple solution to this and I'm being a moron and can't figure it out...)

Just thought I'd introduce my other puppies Bella and Tank!! They are no longer with me as when we all left home I let my family member take them so they wouldn't be alone.. Poor Bella didn't know what to do when meeting the huskies, they were all so big and fluffy and full of energy.. and she's just a fat lazy Bulldog!! :)

This is what Semafoor, my cat, is like when he's sitting on my lap. Something he tends to do... well, nearly every time Extremely sorry for the misfocus of the image though! Kinda hard taking a picture of yourself while having a cat on your lap. To make up for the blurry photo here's another one of Semafoor Semafoor practically lives in my room. He's always where I am. He even sleeps with me on my bed. He can't be without me and I can't be without him

So we have a new member of the pack. Tenchi the 5 month old Pekingese. He has been with us for 3 days now and is starting to settle in rather nicely. He is such a little cutie, these pics really don't do him justice. Plus they were taken with my 2.0 mp camera from my cell phone.Still waiting to get a new camera so better pics will come later lol. Tenchi and Tim Tenchi's close up Pouty Tenchi

There is this very annoying and concerning pit puppy that is outside my complex that is seriously starting to worry me. He's got to be 4 or 5 months old i highly doubt he's older than that and he is not very nice. He followed me 12 blocks the other day yelling at me, growling at me, and nipped my heels three times. Not sure if he's intact as he was marking everything in sight and has a very dominant personality. I'm concerned mostly because there's a lot of kids around here and anything that moves he seems to just go after. The obvious answer is call animal control or the humane society. The problem I'm thinking of is that he is very well fed. There's no collar and no per…

So my neighbor rescued a pit/choc lab mix a few weeks ago. She was underweight (which he believes is cauesd by the food they gave him which the poor thing wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole), had tape worms, fleas, and was clearly abused judging by the bruising, lumps and broken nails Long story short she is well on the mend has a clean bill of health for worms and is almost done with the evil little fleas. One problem remains that I'm hoping someone might have an idea for. She has been rubbing her backside on furniture and biting at her rump and tail to the point it has created scabs and bleeding. The vet thinks it may be something internal but I think it mi…

I was talking to a former roomate who came to visit and he made a comment about how Diesel has recovered so well since we got him. Honestly I haven't though about it much lol but he is quite right. When we first adopted him he had several issues and was dangerously under weight; hips prominently showing and you could count every rib from across the room . When I first got him, and after the car accident, I was so depressed we'd never get weight on him Now he's at perfect weight and a complete handful I'm so proud of his recovery he's such a handsome sweet boy when he wants to be This is the first day we had him at this point he was suffering from …

Seriously am I the only one on the planet that has a dog that gets freaking hairballs? ? ? Diesel is obsessed with cleaning himself, especially when he's blowing, and has had hairballs twice now (the second I'm dealing with now) Everywhere I go on the net claims dogs don't get hairballs which is stupid because obviously my special head case does  Yes I brush him several times a day when he's blowing and twice a week when he's not but he still manages to get them during his blows. I'm so freaking frustrated he panics when he has them and tries to graze on the carpet likes its grass so I have to stay up with him when he does this I'm freaking tired and want sleep. Am…

I shot this picture a long time ago at my internship. My mother is currently going through all books with dog breeds to figure out what kind of breed this is, and I don't know it either. Anyone have an idea what the breed of the dog on the left is? It's quite big, as you can see it compared to the husky next to it. Thank you in advanced, my mother would appreciate it, she is very restless right now

So my boyfriend's American Bulldog/Parson Russell Terrier/?? mix has come to live with Viggo, Tika, and myself. Thought I would share a couple of pictures of him. First we have the 3 boys sitting nicely for a treat. Bear is in the middle of course. And here is Mr. Bear not looking very happy in his bee costume. (LOL)

Today I took my Yellow Lab Molly to the vet to get this bump on her belly checked on... well it turns out she has cancer I'm highly upset because I'm not sure what to do. I guess it has something to do with her mammory glands because she wasn't spayed. Just needed to vent a little... Sofia and Molly love eachother! They play constantly. Everytime another dog tries and plays with Molly, Sofia get's really jealous. It's really cute! I've grown really attached to Sofia over the last few weeks! She's free of all her fleas and worms and is just one healthy little husky. Love her so much:) Hope everyone is doing well!

Was hanging with a friend earlier and she brought out her ferrets to play. They started an absolutely awesome war dance and was wondering if anyone else had pictures or vids of their ferrets war dancing? I think it's insanely cute and totally hilarious sweet little balls of personality they are

Sorry if any of this sounds a bit disgusting and you're trying to eat your breakfast but I'm really worried about Little Nel... Yesterday on her morning walk (9am) she has 3 poos (all very soft) when she usually only has one or none at all. Then on her evening walk (5pm) she had another 2, however was squatting constantly like she needed to go. Yesterday was the first day of cutting down her food as we realised we were over feeding her so I know it's not because she's eaten too much. She has her first lot of food before her morning walk and her second lot after her evening walk. At some point in the afternoon she did help herself to everything of…

Share your difficult dog experiences: Juliette was rescued from a Jungle dog's puppies at 2 weeks old and bottle-fed by my wife. This was in American Samoa, where the average life of a dog is 2 years. Her mom was a wild stray, not sure for how many generations. This is what she got up to. 1.) Chewed the wood patio right off the house. 2.) Came home to a 2ft hole in the drywall, Juliette hard at work. 3.) Grabbed the neigbors trash bag right out of her hands and proceded to spread it across the yard, while being uncatcheable. 4.) Climbed a tree chasing a cat, had to get an extension ladder to get her down, w…

on the way to take the kids to school there is a garden with a huge Irish Wolfhound in. He always barks at everyone who walks past. He NEVER goes out for walks, hes as big as a pony and never gets walked. Apparently the woman who owns him has empheseyma (sp) and cant walk him. Shes had it since he was younger so I reckon hes used to it. Everyone down that street complains about him, and his constant barking. Im convinced hes barking because hes bored and wants to go out. She doesnt know me from adam so there is no point in me going to ask her if I can take him out as I bet she wouldnt let me. Poor boy, it makes me …

I was lookng around the forums and found this section for other dogs and i thought i would just post quickly about the dog we had before we decided on Huskys... Lusso was adopted about 5 years ago from an Animal Shelter before she was due to be put down as she required an operation on her hip and leg but one which wouldnt have got done unless there as a home for her to go to. The Animal Shelter paid for this operation and we had a new member to our family... Lusso came from the shelter with registered pedigree papers and showed that both her mother and father had a history of Champions in their bloodlines. Unfortunatly for Lusso she had been mistreated by he…
