This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done but I know it is what I have to do. Our girl husky needs to be rehomed after taking a strong dislike to our older dog. Our older dog has been attacked by her and is a wreck still. She is absolutely hell bent on getting him. She has nothing against our other 2, just him. I’m more concerned that because she is part of a pair (littermates) she or her brother won’t cope with this at all. I don’t even know how to go about rehoming, it’s not something I ever imagined me doing. Any help or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I really don’t want to put her in a shelter, they are currently separ…

Hi all, Please be kind with me on this, it hurts more than I can even describe. I can’t believe I’m writing this and honestly I don’t really know how I’m going to follow this through and do it. But my girl husky out of the blue attacked my older dog yesterday as he slept which caused a pack effect with her brother and they both went mad on him. His ear has been torn badly and he is an absolute nervous wreck. I am struggling to even get him to get out in the garden. 2 of my 3 young children witnessed this and it was extremely distressing. They now are doing anything to get to my other dog which seems in an excitable way but I obviously don’t trust t…

Hello! My name is Alexandra and I am here for my year old Husky boy named Huttser (named after the alpha male in the novel "The Sight"). He has been like this since the day we got him. I thought maybe he couldn't howl because he was young and still developing his vocal abilities, but here we are a year later and he still can't do it. Huttser is a very talkative boy (like most huskies) and we (especially my boyfriend) always made sure to talk back and keep him vocal as we love that aspect of huskies. But every time he tries his hardest to work up that howl, he ends up almost like losing his voice, and sometimes chokes. I can't seem to find anything online ab…

Hi everyone! My 7yr old husky, Ein, is getting TPLO surgery next Thursday! I figured this would be the best place to ask and get some tips/advice from anyone who went through this recovery. I know recovery is gonna be tough, so I want to be sure I’m handling it the best I can. I’m torn between getting a crate, a large pen, or just keeping her out in the open in a small area (almost the size where a full size bed can fit and still have extra room). What did you guys use? I’m worried about her attempting to jump. You know huskies, they are very energetic. My pup is somewhat calm but she can hype herself up a lot. She will be going home with sedatives, not sure yet but…

I have a groomer who regularly grooms my husky. They just shaved him down to the skin. I am literally crying because I am so sad. I don't know what to do. What can I do? Will his hair ever grow back or is his hair going to be forever destroyed. I am so depressed. Any recommendations? I'm so scared his hair won't grow back correctly. It's 120 degrees out here.

Hi! I am new here and have wanted a husky for 16 years, I was six years old! Here is my girl first born and now at a week old. Not that It matters, but do you think her mask will fade away? What color do you think she will become? I'm thinking yellow copper/dilute red. What color eyes do you think she will have? I'm thinking blue, because her parents, grand parents, and great grand parents all have ice blue eyes. Thank you for accepting me into your community!! Rafe is now a week and 2 days old! Any beginer tips? i pick her up in april!

We have 2 huskies, they are 11 months old. A boy and a girl. Our girl has had her first season and since it ended, they have continuously growled, sat on top of each other snarling and eventually snap. We have tried space and separating them. When apart, they howl and howl until they are together but within minutes, one backs up into a corner and it starts all over again. I have spoke to a vet and behaviourist and they have both suggested spay and neutering but others have suggested against spay and neuter. We have young children and can’t risk them being caught in the crossfire and I am desperate for a solution to this behaviour. On assessment, there is no sp…

soo a few days back duke started smelling like he got into something rotten. my sister pointed out his backside looked bloody which worried me. i took a sniff (can someone explain why i love this dog so much? lol) and yea it was back there. which explained why his nose was smelling like that lol. so i do a bit of googling and come up with it must be an anal sac. because worms apparently dont make yer rear smell like that. i took em to the vet today and they cleared em out. lol if ya havnt had that experience trust me its foul. anywho i was wondering is this a common thing for huskies? im really hoping this isnt something thats gonna happen alot cause it ended up costi…

Hi all, I am just looking for some advice, we have 2 huskies (male and female siblings) our plan was to have our boy neutered and our girl spayed. They are 10 months old and the vet said they wouldn’t neuter our boy until at least 18 months due to not being fully matured until then which is fine. But they also said they won’t spay our girl until 2 months after her first season. I’ve looked a lot into this and read it’s actually best all round if they are spayed before their first season and holds many benefits in doing so? Does anyone know which is the case? Ideally I don’t want to separate them both for that long, it would be awful but obviously will if …

My husky is 5 years and 3 months old . When we brought him home at 8 weeks , he was so energetic. We were at the dog park twice a day. 3.5 hours of exercise a day. Every year he has needed less . I always get worried now when I see him sleeping a lot . He is down to about 1.5 to 2 hours of exercise a day. And he is often seen sleeping in the morning . He used to be so energetic in the mornings . How much exercise does your husky need ? Is this normal ? It makes me sad how less energetic he is .

I've seen multiple things supporting both young and older alteration. If your Sibe is altered, what age did you have it done? If you have any good research supporting one way or the other please share. :-)

I have a stinking husky. This problem has been going on for over two months now. I noticed this sour smelling, almost fermented odor coming off of my dog, and after a couple of weeks of it worsening I took her to the vet. The vet thought maybe it could be some kind of skin fungal infection and after the visit, I changed her diet, I added skin and coat supplements, I changed her bedding and I started bathing her twice a week with a medicated antiseptic, antifungal shampoo. This seemed to help a little, but on these hot summer days, I can't help but let her go swimming and she doesn't always dry out completely. I am starting to think it's something in the water around here?…

I just noticed the other day that Pongo likes to cover where he peed in the snow with his nose. lol. Does anyone else's husky do this? It was so cat-like that I started cracking up laughing. He does NOT like pee and poop and will steer clear unlike other dogs who will walk right through it.

Hi there guys, Just a quick question, do your Huskies hiss? Our new girl Karmas actually hisses like a cat, None of my other kids have ever done this, so I am curious if this is common.

My siberian is now 7 months old. He is a great dog, but my main concern is his shyness and timid character around other people. He only has this problem with strangers. He loves to play with other dogs, but when someone approaches him, he will become skittish and shy. I have been socializing him and training him since he was 3 months. I am hoping this is just a stage and it will go away when he matures into adulthood. What can I do to help him out? Thanks

Has anybody come across this our husky pup is 4 months old his front left leg is bowing out and he is limping on it. Vet thought maybe some rest and if no change X-rays in a week. No known trauma to his leg. When he was a little younger the same leg did shake but that went away. We were told that was normal growing.

I was gifted a husky but I live in Nevada! I love her so much and take her on walks everyday but I quickly figured out her love of cold when the season just changed and it became cooler from a long summer! I haven’t owned her in the summertime yet and I am so worried about how she’s gonna take the 💯 + degree weather here in Vegas!?! I do have a pool and that’s how I survive it! I literally swim every day! What should I do to get her to go to the bathroom outside? I know we can walk early and later at night but suggestions would be appreciated. I did not choose her breed, but I love her. She came into my life by fate, but the more I read about her breed, the more I wonder …

Hello all! I'm a new husky parent! I've always loved the breed and read extensively about it, fantasising one day to own one but kept it at that: a fantasy. Life changed for the better (it happens!) where I met my now-fiance who's equally physically active and loves dogs as much as I do; we bought a house together and adopted our first dog from the shelter about a month ago: a 7-year-old female husky who came overweight but fully housetrained. She's the most adorable goofball who spoils us as much as we spoil her. It's only been a month and we can already tell we'll be heartbroken when she goes over the rainbow bridge... So I know the breed typically lives for 10-14 …

I am wondering how you all came up with the names you chose for your sibes: Olympia was named for MT Olympus from the movie Clash of the Titans {the first movie I saw with Hubby when we were dating} Hailey was supposed to be after Haley's comet, but that AKC name was already taken so she became Hailey the blaze N blue eyed devil Very fitting by the way lol... Mariya was named for the song from paint your wagon {a Clint Eastwood flick} The song "They Call the Wind Maria" {Pronounced Mariah in the song.} She howls when she hears the song lmao Jonah was named from a part of the same song as Mariya "They call the fire Joe " …
