I have spent hours online looking for information on why my husky (NIKO) has such an arch or hunch in his back. It's not debilitating in any way he is very very active and has had this hunch since he started growing. When i say active. If he get's out the door, might as well just wait till he comes back cause you ain't catchin him. And he can clear 10 stairs in one hop. The vet thought it was because he was skinny. We have fixed that problem by taking him off the cardboard and corn diet known as purina. He now eats Taste Of The WILD from tractor supply. He still walks around like a cat ready to pounce. Does anyone else have a husky that has this trait?

I have an 7months old husky and he has destroyed my house: ripped all the wallpaper of the walls, chewed all the carpets in every corner, scratched all the paint of my doors, chewed up 26 DVD's and much more. I am at my wits end, I have tried toys treats, different sprays to stop him doing it again. Can someone please let me know what else I can do.

Our Neighbour has rabbts and our kuskey like to dig ate/bite the fence to get to them. What protective measures would you suggest for the fence? We are thinking chicken wire/some sort of screen. How to train them out of it? Thanks Jack

Over the last several weeks Poppy had been digging and poking her nose into the ground and anywhere else and she started getting cuts all over her nose; as it was healing the skin then started peeling where her nose (which is pink) met her fur at the top. This got worse and she kept scratching her nose everyday pretty much; so it was always bleeding somewhere. So we took her to the vet; the vet said it could be nothing just a result of her having a sensitive nose or it could be an autoimmune response where her body is attacking the pigmentation (or something like that) and so they took some biopsies. Poor Poppy has three separate stitches (one on each side …

Hopefully this is the correct area to pose such questions. I've recently gotten a husky puppy and I've waited a few months register him so he could lose his puppy coat and I could be sure about his coat color, but I am still unsure!! I have ran his Embark and have a little bit of information about a coloring have suspected in him and embark has indicated he is a carrier of the suspected coloring as well but, I want to pose it to a community and get input! Is this pup a gray and white, a sable, or is he Agouti which the slim chance but he is a carrier from the embark. thinking he is just a dark gray and white but would like to see what others think. Thanks

Our Luna is our first Husky. Long story, but we adopted her when she wandered into our yard a couple years ago (there's more to the story, but that's for another post at another time). Anyway, she will lay on the bed with my wife all day long. She usually lays in my spot (I usually come to bed much later than my wife). But she will absolutely not lay on the bed when I'm in bed. In fact, when I come to bed, even though we would not mind her sleeping any the foot of the bed, she will just get up and move off the bed and go lay on the floor. I don't force her off - it's like she knows that she is in my spot and just gets up and moves with no coaxing. Interes…

Our new husky puppy comes home in two weeks - she will be 8 weeks old. We have a vacation cabin that we visit at least once a month, and we also go RV-ing quite often. Our trips are usually anywhere from 3-6 hours, one way, with stays being 3-4 days. We plan to wait at least a few weeks, at a minimum, before taking our new baby on any long road trips, but we want her to get used to long car rides fairly early so that it's a fun and normal occurrence for her. My question is, should we wait longer, until she has acclimated to her new life with us, or should we dive right in, and introduce her to our lifestyle early? I don't want to do anything…

Hi so I currently own a 5-year old male husky. Another 4-year old husky has come up for adoption-his family doesn't want him anymore and they're going to leave him at a shelter. My husky is pretty well behaved. Do you think it's a good idea to adopt it? I really want to give it it's forever home.

Hi, I think i'm going crazy over my husky fur. I'll give a lil history. she's 1yo and 6months, she did her first coat blow last autumn. i brushed her with a wrong brush(but not furminator) and too much before getting a undercoat rake...and i think I removed too much fur on her sides. it seems the guard hair are pretty thin and short. her fur seemed longer with her baby coat, so it's why i think i removed some guard hair and it's taking a very long time to grow back, or maybe there something wrong with her guard hair. on her back, on the spine line, and near front leg and back leg, the fur is longer and texture is different(less soft/wooly)and belly fur is longer…

I the other night, Tasha was talking to the cat. My husband and I started talking as well. She ran over to us and looked at us and started talking to us. It was as if we cracked her secret code and she now thinks we can talk husky! It is also pretty funny that I can be anywhere in the house, or if she is outside, if I howl, she comes running to me, every time. Now Mugs is even talking to her. Does anyone else have this happen?

Hello, Our one year old Siberian Husky has been losing tail over of the last 3 months. One morning we noticed chunks of hair gone so we figured he bit it out. He had a beautiful fluffy tail and it hasn't grown back. We went to a dermatologist and she believes its Alopecia X (also known as Coat Funk and Black Skin Disease) because there are no signs of guard hairs growing back. Wer'e also noticing some chunks on the back right leg now. Quick notes and facts Flea and ringworm test negative Food allergy test negative (although I hear rumor tests are not effective before first year of life) Thyroid tests normal, haven't checked for Cushing sinc…

i moved into a new house about a month and a half ago, it had a flea problem. i took up the carpets, put in wood floor and had pest come out and treat the house and lawn. I havent seen any fleas around the house thank goodness but my husky has some fleas on her tummy. before i took her in my new house i had her bathed at a local groomer but i still noticed fleas on her. Not terrible though... I gave her a bath about a week ago with flea shampoo from petsmart and today i gave her one pill of the capstar, which seemed to work very well. iv collected lots of fleas off her body that came to the surface and flushed them after i killed them... Now my question is... should …

This CarPET hair removal brush is amazing! I always find that the hose on my vacuum doesn't pick up husky hair very well, so I've started using this in my car, on the sofa and on the stairs. definitely recommended! Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Hi My family are looking at a Siberian Husky Pup, we done a lot of research BUT we re getting mixed information when it comes to their relationship with smaller animals. (I suppose it depends on whether you re a sibe lover or not). We have a toddler child and a cat, and we re the puppy we are seeing is being bought up in a family home with a cat and small children. With a plan to integrate them earlier but keep a safe space for the cat just in case. We also have family who have small dogs, ie, chihuahua’s and a few people have advised us the sibe animal instinct does not disappear and perhaps this isn’t the right dog for us as it can still attack smaller animals. Our…

I have heard that you are supposed to keep the hair on the paws trimmed back but haven't had anything to support this statement can anyone enlighten me as to what the correct procedure is. Should it be trimmed back or left? This is one of Eclipses' paws at the moment. Gary.

Hello everyone, I love animals, especially dogs and cats. Recently, I was on a business trip and visited a coffee shop. I see a very cute and lovely dog. Ask your boss and you know that it is a Husky breed. But due to the rushing time, I have not had time to ask where they bought this breed. So I'm up here to hope everyone can tell me where I can buy this Husky? When buying, can I enjoy any incentives or promotions? Thanks everyone.

I'm sorry but I have to get something off my chest! I Love My Siberian husky Blu! He means the world to me and I didn't have children of my own! So he's like a Son to me, being a fist time Momma! I have some people say that I'm to Obsessed with him because he's all I talk about and have more pictures of him than my own family! I just wanted to know if anyone else feels this way about their fur baby 🐺.

Hello, I am a new puppy owner, and recently went through a breeder to purchase a Pomsky. I live in a 1 bedroom condo and due to building restrictions as well as consideration for the puppy I wanted to keep the size to approximately 25-30 lbs. After discussions with several breeders, I settled on a breeder that seemed very reputable and provided answers to all of my questions and details on projected size which she mentioned would be approximately 25 lbs. My puppy is only 4 months old and is already 26 lbs and based on discussions with my Vet he is going to be 50 lbs+. I am in a very difficult situation due to my residency restrictions regarding pet sizes as well as c…

Zena seems to enjoy laying in the sun and finding spots in the house where the sun is shining through. Only once has she specifically stayed in the shade in the garden which was after she had a long walk. Daft dog!
