Posted July 16, 201410 yr comment_945625 Zena seems to enjoy laying in the sun and finding spots in the house where the sun is shining through. Only once has she specifically stayed in the shade in the garden which was after she had a long walk. Daft dog!
July 16, 201410 yr comment_945630 hahahaha, no way! I tried to take my two outside just now to get them to do sprints, and they hid under the trampoline my two find shade no matter where they are or what they're doing.
July 16, 201410 yr comment_945631 No he tends to stay indoors during summer, cant get him in when it's cold xx
July 16, 201410 yr comment_945645 It's not too unusual to find Avalanche sprawled out in the middle of the drive out front. It's getting too hot, so he's staying inside for a while. I can expect him to sunbath again later this fall though. Sasha, she'll go out to do her business, but then she wants back in. If she gets tangled up (all the time) she'll howl until I come untangle her so she can come back in. No sun bathing for her!
July 16, 201410 yr comment_945647 Yep... 100+ degree weather and Sky doesn't mind. She will lay in the same spot for hours until the shade comes. She is a strange Husky haha.
July 17, 201410 yr comment_945814 yep got 2 that love the sun...and love the shade as well...they know when to get into the shade and as long as they have enough fresh water they are just fine...
July 17, 201410 yr comment_945816 Mine is on the neutral side he doesn't mind the sun, but would prefer to stay outside when it's colder. Each is different really x
July 17, 201410 yr comment_945842 Snapped this through the bedroom window a few months ago. Mya's neck must have been sore after sleeping like this.
July 18, 201410 yr comment_946040 They have to sun bathe, their fur needs the sun so it doesn't become dull and brittle, if it did then the fur wouldn't keep them warm in cold weather [emoji4] plus their fur also insulates the heat so they don't feel the heat much. It works both ways of keeping them cool and warm [emoji1] Stephanie Gonzalez
July 18, 201410 yr comment_946096 Khaleesi likes to lie on the patio in the sun, but soon moves into the shade when it gets really hot. she is asleep under the coffee table at the moment.
August 7, 20204 yr comment_1071833 Hi my name is Martha and my sister bought a Husky a year ago but she’s never around to take Care of her husky named Luna. Since I’m home more Luna and I have gotten close. I started to notice when it started to get hotter Luna would go lay in the sun, I would get so upset cause I thought it was a way of her acting out since no one pays attention to her. It can be 90 degrees outside and she will find the spot where the sun hits the most and lay there for hours. I would get worried she’s going to get really hot so as soon as I see her laying in the sun I start telling her she needs to lay in the shade it’s too hot for her right now to be in the sun and surprisingly she gets up and goes lay in the shade lol. She likes laying in the sun so much I got curious and started to research why huskies lay in the sun . I’m so happy I found this site . Dose anyone have any pointers for me. We love dogs and always had a dog in our family but Luna is our very first husky .
August 8, 20204 yr comment_1071838 99% of the time my two boys seek out the shade - very rarely Mikey - our white husky will stay in the sun - but only for around 20 minutes - Marley our mainly black one - just will never sit in the sun. However I know others here have sun worshiping huskies.
August 8, 20204 yr comment_1071845 Mine love the sun...and they also know when to go into some shade to cool down....
October 5, 20204 yr comment_1072895 Yes Massively. She is Black coated though and so thick coated so retains a lot of heat so have to be careful from overheating. Mine in summer time with both front and back doors open she goes in-out-in-out like some neverending game on Hokey Cokey
April 19, 20214 yr comment_1075985 Blu does not like the sun much! Which I try to encourage him to lay in the sun! But Nope!
