He doesn't look like a traditional husky to me, I'm hoping someone might know if he's mixed, or maybe just a product of "poor breeding". Got this guy free from some backyard breeders who presumably couldn't handle the litter because one of their children had health issues. Kind of a weird situation all around so I'm a little skeptical, but hey you can't complain about a free dog and I'm happy with how he turned out. Briefly met his mom and dad who looked like regular huskies, his dad had similar coloring to him, and mom was black and white, you can see her a little bit in one of the included pics. He's 2 years old now. What do you guys think?

Hi everyone! We're Aoife and Jon and we'd like for you to meet our first husky, Callie! She's 4 months old, about 25 pounds and loves cuddling and sleeping! We're still socializing her but she's doing really well. She was very timid and scared before, even having pee accidents because she was so nervous. But she's slowly coming around and enjoys meeting other dogs. We feed her Blue Wilderness and give her Blue Bits for when she's a good girl. Blue Wilderness is the only thing she seems to eat so we've just stuck to that. We're also still trying to potty train her. We'd take her outside for an 45 minutes but she wont potty. She wont pee or potty on the gras…

Hi! I just got my dream dog recently, her name is Krysh, female husky 2 months old. The breeder showed me her parents, the mom is a standard husky and the dad is a wolly one. I’m just wondering if at this early stage, Krysh will have a wolly fur like her dad or the standard fur like her mom? ☺️ Regardless, me and my partner loves her so much. Thank you all who will respond!

Hello husky family Im Bee and this is Lucifer he is almost 7 months old now.. Just needing some advice pleaseeee. Since the past two months whenever I take him for walks especially when we reache the streets near my house he starts to sink his paws into the ground and he refuses to get up. I've tried using high value treats (different types because I know he gets bored of them) and his toys but none of them get him moving. At time I’ve waiting for about 15 minutes and he still won’t budge.I've tried pulling him lightly cause I don’t want to hurt his neck. He's started to do this outside the gate of our house. I literally have to carry him back home every t…

We never thought it would come to this, but we need your help, helping Osborne. Osborne is an 8-month-old husky, who we rescued. What we know is that Osborne was abused and starved for months, along-side 11 other dogs. We brought Osborne home not knowing exactly what was wrong but also knowing he needed us. We already had a 10-month-old husky (Argos), when we decided to rescue Osborne. They have quickly become the best of friends. They play together, sing/howl/talk together, and even nap together. Their relationship has shown so much love in such a short time. Where Osborne was abused, he needs more help than a regular adopted animal. He suffers from severe P…

Hello everyone, Please meet Kino, he's a 7 months old Siberian Husky male, and has been living with us for just over three weeks now. Although my wife an I both grew up with dogs, he's our first dog as responsible adults. He's an amazing puppy, hard working and always doing his best to please! He does about anything for food - and doesn't really care about petting. Please allow me to outline our daily schedule for your review - I'd love your feedback so that we can improve as needed. We're still learning - Wake-up at 6:00 - Walk from 6:30 to 08:00 - Train ride to the office 08:30 - 09:00 - Work for me / nap time for Kino 09:…

Hi, I am Russ and our new Husky is called Lennon. He is a rescue dog from Dogs Trust and was a stray in Belfast before joining Dogs Trust Merseyside and is about 2 1/2 years old.. We have had him for 2 weeks and what an amazing family dog. Playful, loving and affectionate, a real character. He is our first Husky (had Collies, Labs and Alsatians in the past) Being a stray he does have a few issues, most notably mad on the lead, hates other dogs (probably had to compete with many in the past) and he mouths quite lot, but gently. Obviously we read up as much a we could about the breed before adopting. We were advised to exercise him about 2 ho…

Hi, Im excited to get to know and learn from other Husky parents. Although we did a lot of research before adopting our boy, it seems there is so much to learn about their personality.

Hi everyone I have an almost 3 year old red husky named Pizza. We live in Northern Virginia and I've had him since he was about 4/5 months old and got him from a family who could not care for him properly. He's your typical high energy, goofy, husky and the absolute love of my life. On June 18 of this year (2020) Pizza had his first seizure at about 5:30/6am. I was sleeping and was woken by the sound of him vomiting and immediately after he tipped over and started having a grand Mal seizure. I have never seen a dog or human have a seizure and went I into absolute hysterics. I ran to him to try and comfort and sooth him because I had no idea what was going on. Th…

Hi guys I have bought a husky and it has a big ears. Is that a pure husky? I saw pictures of husky having triangular ears but he has big bat ears. He's a sweet pup though but when he cries he cries like a baby! He looks like a raccoon or a rat though!

Hi there, let me introduce you to my 6 year old boy alaskan malamute/husky mix Kyto that we recently adopted from the shelter.Kyto has been abused 3 times by several owners (heavily abused) and neglected, he also lived outside, in all weather, in a very small bench in which he spent more than 8 hours a day locked up! (I think it's terrible). These owners also brought him back three times to the shelter, each time at a different location for different reasons. Now we have Kyto with us for 4 months and we are still very happy with that to date. When we wanted to adopt him, Kyto was not yet available for adoption as investigations had to be made because the caregivers …

We’ve actually been members since February but haven’t posted anything yet but now’s a good time as any. This is Lilo, we got her at 8 weeks in Feb and now she’s a strong 7 months. She loves to cuddle, swim, and no rabbit stands a chance. I can’t believe we waited this long to get a husky but our family is in love. IMG_1020.mov

This is Rocko. My husband surprised me with him about two and a half months ago. He’s a little monster sometimes but he is my best little buddy He’s made this pandemic and all the uncertainty in the world much more bearable and is the reason for many of my smiles and the only reason I get any exercise.

NOTE: In the beggining, first few pictures and part of the post, is almost one year old , I'll copy paste it, so I won't have to rewrite it again Me and my Conan are new here. I think this forum is amazing, I'm reading it over a year now, when I finally got my first husky I decided to register. Conan. In Celtic origin meaning "little wolf" and in the form conan means “”little warrior.” That's what he is, wolf by soul, warrior by nature. Dream catcher because he caught my dreams. Ever since my samoyed Nala died I wanted a siberian. She was my first dog and she passed away almost 2 years ago. I always admired northern breed…

Hi, just thought I'd introduce myself and say I have a rescue Husky/malamute cross. He's 6, his name is Moose and I got him from the Dog's Trust in Kenilworth at the beginning of February. And he's currently a mahoosive pita, tbh (see my thread in the behaviour section).
