I've had my husky for a year. He's my first and it's been a wild ride lol. He's contracted parvo and, thank goodness, lived. We recently moved in with my husband and 2 teenage sons. His name is Kiba. He's a year old solid white, male husky with yellow eyes. He weighs 56lbs and is an awesome companion.

Hello all. It's been a few years since I last posted on here so I thought I should re-introduce myself. I'm Sarah, and I first came here 10 or 11 years ago with my 2 beautiful girls Freya and Kyra. Kyra crossed over the Rainbow Bridge 3 years ago - she was an older girl I adopted as a companion for my younger Freya , who was struggling with separation anxiety when I was at work. They had such a lovely friendship, and I don't think Freya would've turned out to be the well balanced doggo she became without her. She trained her better than I could! LOL She was so calm and had so much wisdom, she was really special. Back in March of this year I sadly lost…

G'day from Oz. Dunno if anyone is still here, as it's 2021 and the epidemic has been hitting pretty hard, but I found this place while surfing the net and it looked interesting. I adopted Xena about a year ago and in only that short amount of time she's been bringing lots of fun and mischief to our lives. She has been a little harder to train than my previous dogs, but as an experienced German shepherd owner it was a breath of fresh air to end up with such a cheeky husky. I knew some friends a while ago who had a couple of huskies and their playful personality and spicy attitude is what makes them my favourite breed (sorry GSD, your loyalty was excelle…

Greetings, all. I came across this group while searching for "raincoats for dogs with long necks" and "raincoats for huskies". I know I know. Huskies dont NEED raincoats, but my 3 yr old Mina (rescued & adopted four months ago) literally frowns and cowers when the rains are heavy. Since I do anything I can to prevent that frowning, I bought a silly raincoat for her. She prances around like a show pony whenever she has it on but she has a really long neck and pretty much her whole head sticks out. So here I am. This girl is my heart and happiness when I need it most.🥰

This is our girl Teyla. She just turned 1 last week. We have everything from crate training, potty pads, Kong’s toys, Cheyenne pepper etc. nothing has seemed to work! We’ve had to put baby gates up all around the house! We’ve had such a beautiful backyard and now it looks like we live in the dessert which causes lots of dirt in the house! I literally clean everyday! I feel like my house is disgusting! We’ve tried everything. I understand that huskys are high energy but with a 6 year old and both parents working full time it is not very often that we could take her for a walk and when we do she pulls nonstop! I have the hardest and a martingale collar (not used at the same …

HI, My name is Caryn and Sam is my new Husky. She is somewhere around 1 year old. I saved her from the pound. Actually got her out earlier then she was supposed to be let out . These two jerks in the neighborhood next to me claim they found her and took her there immediately (less than. 10 hours after finding her) without looking for her owner(s). I followed and adopted her instantly. Unfortunately she had to stay because she had a microchip. However it had no info on it Not even that it belonged to a dog or cat, an address or name etc. Nada! Anyway, she is now safe with me and legally belongs to me. On another note we have had a very rough time …

I am new to this site, AND fairly new to Husky partnership. I rescued Roxy a little less than a year ago. She is 5 1/2 years old. I live in Palm Desert Ca. I know it is too hot here, but have wanted a Husky for 40 years, and when I lost my two female Westie Twins in 2020, I said it was time. HERE IS MY ISSUE. ROXY LOVES TO SUN HERSELF BY THE POOL. SHE DOESN'T GO INTO THE WATER, BUT WANTS TO LAY THERE EVEN WHEN IT IS 100 PLUS DEGREES. I AM CONSTANTLY HEARING HER GO THROUGH THE DOG DOOR, AND KNOW SHE IS GOING OUTSIDE TO LAY DOWN. I AM WORRIED SHE WILL FALL ASLEEP AND NOT REALIZE HOW HOT SHE HAS GOTTEN. I KNOW I CAN CLOSE THE DOG DOOR AND NOT LET HER OUT, BUT LEAVE IT …

Hello everybody ! Its been a very long time since I have posted here, nearly 5 years ! I remember joining this forum as a not even 19 year old, with my first husky... I am now 27, and Mishka is still by my side, as well as two more additions.. 😅 How things have changed, from renting a room in London to living in a lovely countryside house in France (I always promised Mishka someday she would have her very own big garden, what a day it was when we signed the contract for this house !) So yes, my lovely girl will be turning 10 years old this summer, as well as celebrating her 9th gotcha day ! Then we have Loki, who joined our lives 3 years ago, he i…

I just left a deposit for an adorable male puppy. I think I’ll name him Kodiak after the city in Alaska, their native land. I’ve been doing some research and to my surprise they’re somewhat conflicting so I wanted to go to the best source, the actual owners so here I am. I’ve read on many forums that Huskies are “Escape Artists” and would run away when they get the slightest chance, they would dig under, jump over and chew through anything to run free and once they do they’re gone for good. We have a pretty large and secure yard but no matter how secure the yard is I’m pretty sure as smart as they are they’ll find a way. I just like to know what I’m getting myself into. M…

Hi all! We're Anne and Bill and we have a wonderful and quizzical 10 year old wooly Husky named Aru (but she also responds to Fluffy). Our daughter talked us into buying her and then decided we were much more suited to raising her than she was. Duh. So we've had a wonderful 10 years with her so far and actually done pretty well in agility training. Now she's got some medical issues but we're working through them for a few more years with her.
