Hey i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the issue. When we take fleury out to go potty and for walks she pulls a lot, not so much for me but more for my girlfriend, no i dont know if its just becasue im stronger than she is or if she really is pulling harder. Fleury is currently 7 months, and i was wondering what i can start to do to reduce her pulling, and do those ezdog leashes work well for this or just well in general?

Biting/nipping to play is our biggest frustration with Bella. She is now 11 months old and since we got her at 5 months old I've been trying to teach her that the playful nipping isn't going to cut it. I do let her bite easy when we're just sitting around together, but the pinching really hurts! So we've had her for six months now and "No Bite" works for a moment, until I turn my back. She likes to playfully nip at our old man Billy, a 12 lb terrier mix, and our cat. Of course, they want nothing to do with playing with this big thug. Poor girl. When outside Bella can become very hyper and she'll try to nip at the back of our legs, or the legs of Bill…

When I was 1st starting out I would have loved to have had an option like this, so I'm gunna offer this to people If your interested in working your sibes, and they are over a year old (or very close to it), but not sure where to start, or dont wanna spend out for all the equipment to find you or the dogs dont enjoy it, you can come down and try out our equipment Kira runs well next to other dogs, as does Grey, we have 2 harnesses, (which seem to fit average size guys n gals), a set of 2 dog ganglines, a coupler, semi slip collars, and a suitable scooter. We're in Ipswich, Suffolk, if anyone wants to come down and use the equipment, an…

I've come upon an opportunity to get a 9 week old female. I'm curious, could I use Tuk to help crate train her? As in when I put them in for the night could I put them both in the same crate? There would be be enough room until she got bigger. Has anyone done this and if so, how did it work out?

OK, we've had Ellie and Honey on the scooter before we took Cody in, but yesterday we scootered all three for the first time and this issue is still the same! We just can't seem to motivate Ellie to pull as well as the other two. Cody and Honey on their own will take off and run/pull for all they are worth but Ellie bless her will start well but then starts to act as if she cannot be bothered. I know she is slightly smaller but don't think it's a fitness thing because if she sees a squirrel (or any small furry thing) she's probably faster than the other two in pulling to get to it. It just seems she is being really willful and sticking two fingers up if we…

I have found this great site when browsing for byways, the people there are very helpful, one chap in cambs has info on lots of trails/byways they use with their trialbikes & is going to let me know of areas we can run the dogs, he says he knows lots of flattish areas we can use & one in thetford without having to get a permit from the forestry . so hoping to have a few different areas we can use soon.

Well took Nikita today on her first semi proper attempt to go beside a bike, the track takes 10 minutes max on bike. We were doing ok (couple of little things ie she wanted to be on other side of bike so had to stop lol) until a flock of birds flew up, that was it she pulled in the opposite direction to what they went (go figure ) I I went off the bike . Thankfully both NIkita and the bike are fine (Steve only got the bike today) Got back on the bike and carried on and she was fine again, apart from knackered lol, so I think I'll deifnately be doing it with her again and hopefully we'll both improve as time goes along (I havent rode a bike in 15 years )

My mom has 2 dogs her self. American Eskimo and Australian Shepard. Australian Shepards are known for herding, and that's what Angel does. She herds us and Trinity. Kissuna loves to bug them. Sometimes they play along and sometimes they continuously give warning barks. But lately when Kissuna picks on Angel especially, he's started doing something new. He'll nip at her and then quickly turn around and shove his hind legs and tail into her. I've seen other dogs do this before, but never really thought about why. She's wondering if he's picking up herding behavior from Angel. But I'm thinking that it's kind of a dominant thing. Like, "I can pick on you and nip at you but yo…

Help I've been trying to ignore it, and tell myself it's not true and I'm imagining it, but I can't put it to the back of my mind anymore... Everyone has said it, Gerry, Rick, his mum, his sisters.... Kira is not the same dog.... She is lethargic, just sleeps constantly, has stopped eating, barely wags her tail at the moment, is a lot more cuddly, and she wont play, not with Grey, and not even with Buster, this is the dog who lived to play with Buster, now she just sits there She even just looks depressed, ears splayed, tail down, eyes look sad She's been like this since thursday when we got home... Will…

After seeing Dani high 5ing with Saffi we decided to see if we could get Talon and Shaer to do this. They already gave paw, at first we told them paw and high 5 which got them used to the word and then we got a piece of choc and said to Talon High 5 and he gave a proper High 5 this also worked with Shaer. Now Talon gives high 5 without treat but Shaer can be stuborn but knows how to do it. This all took about 30 mins in total to teach them both.

I'm so happy!!!!!!!!!!!! Just took the dogs out on the bike, Rick came with me and we went to an area we'd never used before, its a dusty dirt path which runs along side the railway tracks with the feild and river on the other side. We got to the gate and Kira started going nuts, really trying to pull, both of them were already harnessed up but on their normal leads for the walk down there, we hooked them up to the bike, took of the leads and off we went! They were so good, ran perfectly together!! I thought we might have some problems with it being the 1st time Kira has ran with a partner and Grey's 1st time running for me, and we were i…

I am still paranoid after my two had that food fight so I have been watching them closely. I am getting them evaluated on Monday morning but I still have one more day to go and one thing really concerns me. Sometimes, mostly inside the house when they play Whisper will lay down and let her jump all over him. There is a bit of growling involved but I assume that is just play growling. However, we went in the yard today and Zihna was running around like crazy again and Whisper was catching her and she would lay down and he would stand over her and he laid his ears back and just stood over her nipping her on her neck and paws and stuff. They were in t…

another dog magazine article i found and thought i would share (another long but good read) written by Victoria Stilwell. An electric collar turns a stubborn pup into an aggressive, withdrawn and depressed dog facing euthanasia......... The Shocking Truth Angela and her daughter Sasha, had recently moved into a beautiful new home by the beach, Angela had sold the family business, which, after many years of hard work, meant that she could retire early and concentrate on raising her only child. Accompanying the family was a one-year-old Basset Hound called Reba, who had been bought from a pet store at eight weeks of age. Ange…

for those of you who trained your sibe/other dogs to do this i was training with Embry tonight, and trying to teach him to bow, but couldn't really think of a hand command to do along with it, and if i point downwards he lays down once in a while he'd stop and do a bow, but he wasn't getting it. how did you go upon teaching this command?
