  1. Poor Skyla! Something we have here that's natural is Buchu. I believe you do get the Ricky Litchfield products on Amazon https://www.rickylitchfield.com they have capsules that contain Buchu and fish oils for Omega 3 oils that works awesome for arthritis or even injuries. Its even anti-inflammatory and not that expensive... Sent from my SM-T815 using Husky Owners mobile app
  2. Tsunami sleeping in his crate last night, while all the other dogs were curled up with blankets, he was too warm! Sent from my ALE-L21 using Husky Owners mobile app
  3. Haha, yes I asume you could say that![emoji23] He's always naughty when he's super tired [emoji6] Sent from my ALE-L21 using Husky Owners mobile app
  4. Tsunami does not steal shoes...he steals the whole box! And this after he stole a brand new sealed bag of hooves this afternoon and enjoyed most of them! Even though he was tired of running around off leash at the park this morning... Sent from my ALE-L21 using Husky Owners mobile app
  5. I read that here too My vet uses the MSD vaccinations, but thet refuse to do puppies under 8 weeks (I think thats what he said) Its not only limited to these vaccines, I know of other dogs that get sick or have reactions to other vaccine brands... I trust my vet to make the right choice on which vaccines he sees as safe to use in his practice, so far I've had no issues with the dogs and no side effects of these vaccines. But not all vets have the dog's well being at heart, some of them make choices based on their profit margins...
  6. Awww, come on, its winter here now...you're just depressing me!
  7. Mine missplaces themselves all the time, I think Emma is on to it being them playing hide and seek to scare the crap out of us! A couple of months ago Smokey hid under the caravan so well that I actually went looking for her outside the yard!
  8. Smokey will trade her tail for a piece of donut! Even if it's just those plain syrupy ones, she goes bonkers when she smells it!
  9. Oh Emma, where did your thoughts just wonder to...
  10. Sounds like you have a stubborn one Puppy class will be a good start, be sure to ask there for advice on the biting too! At that age they are teething and the chewinf/nipping is only going to get worse before it gets better
  11. How old is he now? Stop playtime immediately when he starts to get nippy and give him a time out by removing him from the place/room where you are. You can also try putting some Vicks vapour rub on your arms where he bites, I've done it with my boy Tsunami and it worked very well Also have some good treats around and if he starts biting at you, make him sit or lay down to get the treat, that takes his mind off of the biting. Exercise before play is good as they are less likely to bite when tired. Teaching tug with a rope toy also worked for me as he learned the rope toy was appropriate tobite and he could take his frustrations out on it...
  12. @Markulous yes, I'm aware of the huge change in colour and marking as they grow up, but never thought that the undercoat would change colour so drastically It just looks super weird if you run your hand through his coat and it black on top and white below! @Emma I was blonde as a baby and only after 2 my hair got darker and now is black... Now I'm even more curious about why it changed to white after your whole 'chemical levels' explanation! Ok so I just Googled and apparently it's common for them to change undercoat colours too at 1yo... According to what I found he is a typical 'black' Husky now: Black – The outercoat is made up of individual black hairs, white at the root. There may be solid white hairs mixed in with the black. The tail, ears and hindquarters have yellow and brownish hairs mixed in. The undercoat can be white, beige, charcoal or a mixture of the three.
  13. So when I got Tsunami at 9 weeks his undercoat was black on his back, but white where he had white guard hairs on his chest and waist. The other day I noticed that his under coat is now white under his black guard hairs on the back too! Only a little patch over his shoulders still have a black undercoat... Is this common for them to change undercoat colouring after shedding? He's also getting a lot of white guard hairs on his back, between the black ones, which is totally starting to look weird, like he's a human going grey! I know Smokey's guard hair colour changes with season, but her undercoat stays the same. And I would never have thought that black would turn into white! Maybe it's 'snow camo'??? Oh yeah, and Mr Grouchy was not impressed to be photographed while trying to nap on me!
  14. Welcome! You cannot compare a Husky's shedding to that of a Border Collie...it will never ever even come remotely close! On the plus side they usually blow their coats only twice a year, but there's still hair almost everywhere on furniture the whole year long... It helps to brush them daily as that keeps the hair around the house less
  15. That does look a bit thin! My vet recommended putting my girl Smokey on the puppy food of her kibble brand as she was underweight. Most puppy food has more fat and proteins. Did it for about 3 months and she picked up 3kg to be 22kg now (she's 2) and the vet is happy that she's at a good weight for her size now. My boy Tsunami is 29,6kg at 1yo, but he has a huge frame and might have Malamute in his blood...he's active and not overweight according to the vet.
