Kino
Hello everyone, Please meet Kino, he's a 7 months old Siberian Husky male, and has been living with us for just over three weeks now. Although my wife an I both grew up with dogs, he's our first dog as responsible adults. He's an amazing puppy, hard working and always doing his best to please! He does about anything for food - and doesn't really care about petting. Please allow me to outline our daily schedule for your review - I'd love your feedback so that we can improve as needed. We're still learning - Wake-up at 6:00 - Walk from 6:30 to 08:00 - Train ride to the office 08:30 - 09:00 - Work for me / nap time for Kino 09:00 - 12:00 - 30min lunch and one hour walk 12:00 - 13:30 - Work for me / nap time for Kino 13:30 - 16:00 - Short walk from 16:00 - 16:30 - Work for me / nap time for Kino 16:30 - 17:30 - Train ride home - One hour evening walk/play time in the park usually from 20:00 to 21:00 - Quick pipi followed by going to sleep in the kennel 22:00 Note, he gets his full daily allowance of kibbles over the various walks for training. Somewhere around 150gr in the morning and 150gr in the afternoon. Looking forward to get your feedback.
wolfpup
Looks like he has fallen on his paws, being able to be with you all day at work. Cannot help with the amount of food etc - I am a raw feeder and have no idea just how much a growing husky should have of kibble. I would suggest though possibly checking on the type of kibble - its not the best food to give as a rule - but I do know there are better quality ones around. If kibble type is the only way to feed for you then possibly look at some of the dehydrated meat kibbles. He looks a really handsome chappie. Kino
Thank you Wolfpup! We’re feeding kibble for our own convenience, but not necessarily set on it yet as he’s been having a loose stool since we got him. The first owner was feeding Royal Canine, the rescue center was feeding BARF (for 72h) and we are feeding him quality, gluten free, grain free, cold pressed beef kibbles. But we’re changing the kibbles to another brand and lamb meat starting this week to address his loose stool. Since we have two cats, I was wondering if the loose stool is stress related?! robke
to loose stools on kindle could be the result of overfeeding including all treats during the day, with our Alpha it can only be an extra treat and he has loose stools always has had that problem... Kino
Thank you Robke! All his treats come out of his daily allowance (300gr total). But I understand Huskies should receive the lower end of the suggested serving size, so this may indeed be the issue.. We are changing his food starting this week, and with this we will also reconsider the serving size.
