Hi guys, My name is Alex and I'm new. A month ago me and my husband got a beautiful husky puppy called Mango. He is adorable, funny and as we all know very energetic. We got Mango two weeks before big move in into our new house and we both took some time off to look after him for about 3 first weeks. Due to previous accomodation circumstances Mango has been house trained and learnt to do his business in the house. When we moved in into the new house (with fenced garden) we thought it will be a matter of days and he will know to go out to potty. It has been a month since we in the new house and Mango does not want to potty outsi…

Does anyone else do this and do you feel it has any effect on how your dogs are as a pack? I have always been told its best to walk all dogs together, but I have about had it with walking our older dog with others. He makes it incredibly difficult and really needs to be trained alone, I just don't want the dogs to no longer bond since they have finally started to show some love towards each other! How many of you run your dogs? What do you use? Do you have a preference for a scooter over a rig? Why do you use what you do? If it's a scooter, what type? Have you tried a kickbike? Just interested now we're running ours as to what other people use / prefer

Hi everyone would like to ask some advice. I have two Siberian huskies, both female. One is 4 and the other approaching her 2nd birthday. I've had a bit of a nightmare recently when giving them lead walks. On the approach to another dog, the youngest one will start howling, pulling and jumping on her back legs. Which then gets the other one going. I know this looks intimidating to both the approaching dog and its owner. It makes my dogs look aggressive when they are gentle and lovely but just a nightmare in this one instance any ideas of how to train this out of them? I've tried distracting them with noises and treats. I get them to sit and then all…

So Tsunami's panic attacks are thankfully getting less & less after the neutering (and so is his aggression) but now he took a liking to eat poop...he'll even wait for another dog to finish if there's none laying around! He's not hungry since I gave him his kibble and about a full tin of food as experiment and he still went and ate poop straight after!

Anyone of you ever used clicker training with your Huskies? I'm curious if its something worth trying as Tsunami is not exactly finding training amusing or worthwhile...he is easily bored and very stubborn! He seems to like clicking sounds. I know your supposed to click when the dog does something good and then reward, but that's about all

So Koda is just over 2 now, and he has never been the best behaved dog in the world, brilliant with commands, sit, stay, leave, lay down etc but he has always had a problem with possessions, or my possessions shall we say. Basically If he manages to get hold of a tea towel or a sock, a pillow, underwear etc he becomes extremely aggressive. You can't even go near him without him snarling and showing his teeth and on 3 occasions he has actually bit me, drawn blood etc but it was semi under control, I learnt to put things out of reach etc and managed to find a couple of ways to remove the said object but was never a dead certain he would give it up, there's been instanc…

So as you guys know Tsunami was neutered about 2.5 weeks ago. At first all seemed as usual, he was a bit scared when I picked him up at the vet but I thought it was the surgery's after effects. Since then he's been scared and have had super panic attack tantrums by the dozen!!! He's always been a bit afraid of cars (no problems going into it and taking a ride, just cars passing him while walking), but now suddenly he is terrified...also if a neighbour comes up to the gate he pulled out of his collar and spat into the house, going straight through anything in his way! The other day I had him at the beach and this photographer lady comes up and asks if she can tak…

In my family there's my 6 year old lab, Holly, my 2 year old husky Freya, and then there's the 1 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Lexi, who is technically my brothers dog, but tbh I've taken her on from the moment we got her, as he's always working and had no time for her. For Christmas, my dad dog my mum a male Pomeranian puppy, that's Elvis. He's a lovely little lapdog for my mum, though a yapper, he's really sweet and cute. Just to say, I think that what happened was totally my fault, I didn't introduce them the correct way, I take full responsibility. So basically, the first time I introduced Elvis to the girls was about 3-4 days after we got him, and …

Hi everyone, My boy is now 9months old. He's developed a bit of a biting issue and I am at my wits end. I am really hoping that you have some advice. So I put a chat on here about his training that when he trains he gets a bit bitey towards the end so we keep his sessions short and try and tire him out before hand. Well now he is biting during play, he'll happily play with a toy and then forget the toy and bite my arms. I don't think he's being aggressive cause his tail is wagging. But he's getting big enough now to bruise and it blinking hurts. When I come home after work he is really excited to see me, his ears are flat back and his tail is wagging, he seems ve…

Hi We have recently rescued a 3yr old husky. She's from the humane society so we don't know her past. She's been low energy inside and outside and isn't the normal husky hyper. She mostly sleeps and walks slowly/occasionally ruins. When my husband and I take her on walks, she sees a person or other dog and refuses to move (if she can't go up to them). She just stands there and refuses to move when we call her. We're wondering if anything has worked for anyone with this issue. Second question is my girl just started to bite her leash. She was unable to go up to a person and their dog because their dog wasn't good with others. She then began to bite her leash. I was readi…

Hey guys my husky Kenshi is currently 6 months old and lately I noticed that he has been less tolerant of my male friends. He does well when I have a group of friends over and also out in public but his behavior changes when I am one on one with a male friend. He will start biting their hand and nipping. It's always just been me and him since he was 8 weeks and he is not use to another male presence. I just don't want this behavior to persist or worsen and I'm all ears for advice.

My 2 years old Shibe was a happy sibe at first I bought her home. I rescued her from the street (not adopt from breeder). She loved to play with water and gave me a high hug-jump. She once had parasite bugs on her skin but now they're getting clean because our family picked it everyday. One day I noticed that her jaw was swollen and I gave her immune boost vitamin and the next day the swollen jaw has reduced. But now she seems very LAZY and unhappy. She did not excited anymore with water and did not give me any hug anymore. I am so sad. Please give me advice. Sorry for my bad English. Thanks!

Hi! Thinking about showing my girl, Neyla. She's AKC registered. Figured I may as well put that registration to use. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue about showing dogs. What are the benefits of showing her? Where do I start? What am I looking at financially? What do judges look for in a winner? She's a year old... Is that too old? Will she be judged by age, breed, or what? Nobody around home shows dogs, so I don't have a single resource besides you guys. Any and all info you have will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! I was wondering if anyone had advice about using the heater during the winter with a husky. We've been keeping it cooler than usual but were wondering what temperatures they can comfortably live in, and if it would be okay to turn the heat on.

Over the last few months, my two male dogs who both became house trained as puppies, now 3 and 5 years old have started urinating against furniture, typically sofa and table legs. Normally in the same spots, to the point several legs of the table and sofa are permanently wrapped in newspaper. Does anyone have any idea why they might of started this habit, or how to break it, when as I mentioned both dogs were clean before and the door is always open for them to go into the garden.

Sorry that I come and go on the forum a lot ;-;. Don't have that much time to peruse the internet often nowadays. Any who every day I have school so my mom or other family member will take care of Jelly or let her out to potty or feed her if I'm gone for an extended period of time (up to 15 hours away) According to whoever takes care of her, she's terrible. When they sit at the dinner table/dining table they tell me that she barks non stop. She never misbehaves when I'm around so I can't correct her because I never see it in action. I suggested to others that if you ignore her completely and for a long enough time she'll realize that she's …

Our husky, Demon, is just over one year old now. In general, he is a brilliantly behaved dog, and we've never really had any problems with him destroying our house since he was a young pup, apart from the odd accident of course. But it seems that all of a sudden his behaviour has taken a turn for the worse. Recently he has been urinating in our home, for no seemingly apparent reason. He goes out plenty of times a day, and he knows to go to the door when he needs to go out. But it seems like now he just does it without warning. It's strange because he doesn't cock his leg, or make any kind of indication, he just walks out of his bed and does it? He knows it's wrong and he …

Hello everyone! This is Luna, my 4 month old Husky i've had her from 9 weeks. We always have had a problem with her not liking her cage, we introduced it slowly, gave her dinner in there, treats, gave her her favourite toys in there and it seemed to be going well. But only when we were in the room.. As soon as we leave she whines, even if were only upstairs. She had a few nights where she only cried for a few minutes and would sleep right through, then other nights she would scream for hours and then wake us up screaming early hours, but as soon as she came out she would just go sleep. Its very annoying. We thought it might be the cage, which i though ok …
