Has anyone ever used one of the springer attachments that attaches to a bike? If so, how much can the dog actually pull and how safe do you feel?? Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using Husky Owners mobile app

-Allow you and your dog to have quiet time together. -Promote your dog’s good health in terms of his coat, skin, feet, ears, teeth, etc. -Allow you to become very familiar with all parts of your dog’s body and you’ll notice early on anything unusual that may require veterinary attention. -Promote good health for both humans and puppies – this type of interaction can actually lower stress levels and reduce blood pressure for both you and puppy.

Keep the puppy on a regular feeding schedule and take away his food between meals. Take puppy out to eliminate first thing in the morning and then once every 30 minutes to an hour. Also, always take him outside after meals or when he wakes from a nap. Make sure he goes out last thing at night and before he’s left alone. Take puppy to the same spot each time to do his business. His scent will prompt him to go. Stay with him outside, at least until he’s house trained. When your puppy eliminates outside, praise him or give him a treat. A walk around the neighborhood is a nice reward.

Ghost is now a year old and has been crate trained since being a pup. Once he started settling through the night at around 5 months old I started letting him sleep in the bedroom with me, and have had no problems with this. I work all week Mon-Fri but my son is home 3 of those days, and looks after him. The days no one is home my Dad comes in middle of the day, plays with him, feeds him and lets him out etc. Recently I've had some health problems so have been off work and home pretty much the last 4 weeks, aswell as this we've gotten new furniture so have had to move Ghost's crate to the back of the living room where the view of the room is restricted.…

Hi everyone, Not sure if I mentioned earlier but Nikolai is very possessive of his toys. Once we give him his toys he won't let go of them. He guards them in his mouth and starts growling when you come close to pat him or give a cuddle and sees it as a possible threat - taking his toy away even tho I don't intend to. We have to lure him to another room with a treat so he leaves his toy and I can take it away. Same with balls outside, he catches it, but doesn't fetch em back. Keeps in mouth until you distract him by throwing another one so he releases the one in his mouth. I don't mind him playing but once he has a toy in his mouth he just growls and buzzes like …

Hi everyone! So I've only had my husky pup for four days now. He's 14 weeks and just the smartest thing already. He knows how to sit, the only problem is that he does it on his own terms! I have had other dogs before, including my very stubborn akita, but with my husky I am worried that I am going to have to take a different training approach. I cannot keep his attention at all! I only try training him for about 15 to 20 minutes at most, then I stop to let him play. However, throughout those 15 minutes he is not listening to me call his name and he'll sit only when I have something that he wants. I can tell that he is very smart and that he already wants to try testing ho…

Hi everyone. My 16 month old husky is continually biting me. It starts off playful but then gets harder and harder until it bruises. I have tried giving him something to chew but that doesn't work. I have tried putting him outside but he howls and carries on. He gets exercise twice daily. In the morning before work and when I get home. He normally bites as soon as he wakes and before he goes to bed. He doesn't do it with anyone else. Just me!!! He also knows that we walk every morning at 5:45am and he is in a routine. But it's getting to the point where he's starting to wake earlier and earlier (4:45am) and cause a fuss until he gets to go. Jumps at the door and howls u…

Hi, I have a 6 month old husky called Lyla and my partner has a 2 year old husky called autumn (both girls) which we adore!! Both dogs are so friendly to both people and other animals and love running around and playing with other dogs at dog off leash areas! However, recently the 2 year old husky autumn has been really rough towards small dogs when they begin to run away or growl back, even to the extent of picking them up and thrashing them in her mouth :/ it hasn't gotten to the stage of her actually injuring any small dogs but the behaviour is often unpredictable and you can imagine how upset the owners of the small dogs are! We growl at her an…

When my husky was about a yr old, he started being super protective of me at dog parks after he was attacked on more than one occasion by pit bulls at the dog beach. Now when any dog approaches us, esp pits, he gets super protective if he's beside me on a leash & will try to bully & attack the other dog. It's not as bad when he's not right next to me. It's not every single dog but most. It's starting to get out of hand & I really wanna be able to go to the park with him without worrying bout what he will do. Any advice? Can't afford any kind of training for him right now....just lookin for a quick easy fix basically...if there is one....

Hi, Just signed up to this forum today as only just found it. We have a pomsky and hes taking more to the husky, full of energy and the looks of a husky. We walk him for a while and he never seems to run out of energy. He's 1 year old and we have had him pulling us on our 3 year old sons trike and obviously our son has had a go also with our control of the dog and with each of us he gets a fair amount of speed so hes clearly strong enough to cope personally. What scooter would you recommend to get, harness and how would i measure for the harness? Thanks in advance. Jason. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

My 4 1/2 month husky puppy has been really acting up lately. The first month i had him, I would keep him outside because he was not house trained. Now he does a decent job but that is not the point. Whenever he does something wrong i give him timeout which involves either taking him outside to his area and tieing him up for 5-10 min or just putting him outside. At first it worked great but when he does do something wrong etc biting my younger brother, getting on top of him, when i go to pick him up he lays on his back growls and bites and scratches me when i try to pick him up. At first he would barely nipple but now lately he has started to bite harder. Which is weird be…

hi all, im new to this site, so firstly hello, i have an almost 15 month old male sibe, but i fear hes somehow developed a bit of social anxiety. hes scared of the following and will try to do anything he can to avoid it or get away from it, which includes backing up, pulling away or yanking me away to get away from it. hes scared of the following: 1) big vans and lorries and buses 2) parked cars 3) bikes and scooters 4) shop doors and alleyways 5) grown up he don't know, although he is perfectly fine with children he dont know if they don't happen to be riding a scooter or bike. mainly i was just wondering if there was any way to smooth ou…

So we have a 7 yo male husky. We happen to be his third family... (yes THIRD! ) We have had him for a little over a year now, and everything was perfectly fine, up until a few months ago. We went traveling for a weekend and our neighbors were watching him and our other dog (chihuahua). We came back to my sons bed completely ruined with pee and poop. We have had problems with our chihuahua going potty inside the house, so we thought it was him. Even though he has never peed on a bed. But our husky was so well behaved and had never had an accident that we figured it couldn't be him. However, come to find out it was him... After he had ruined another mattress... We blocked h…

I haven't posted here in awhile. I have a almost 2yr old male Husky. He is not neutered, for reasons of health concerns later in life, that we have read about. But still may do it. He played with all the dogs in the neighborhood, since he was 3 months old. But now he has grown into a alpha type dog. Any dog that challenges him he won't back down from. From the wind-barkers to pitbulls. Our concerns: 1. Dog parks, he loves to play with other dogs, my wife and I are growing more cautious because something may happen. Because he needs to be alpha. 2. The wind-barkers I mentioned earlier, he can only take for so long because they run up to him and go nuts…

Lately my dog has been barking at us. We take her out for 2 long walks, one in the morning and one at dinner. During the morning and afternoon she's fine. She'll sleep all day and we wont hear a peep out of her. At night she changes, it's like she's a different dog. She sits there staring at us barking and growling. I don't know what we can do about this. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I want my new husky to be safe around smaller animals such as toy dogs, cats, pet rabbits and birds. I am aware they should never be left unattended or forced to interact if they don't want. The thing is I plan to take Bellatrix with me to most places and you never know what you will find. Bellatrix is currently enrolled in obedience training and we plan to take her all the way up to advance lessons. I hope to get her GC certified. I am just looking for some advice from experienced husky owners on this issue. My first husky was an anomaly as far as the breed goes and treated all critters as friends so this will be my first go around with this husky issue. Sent from my S…

When a dog starts teething does it affect his behaviour with toilet training?.. The reason i ask is i had finally had moonshine peeing and pooping outside with only the occasional accident in the house. But since his teeth have started coming out and teething hes back to toileting in the house. Its like ive had to start training again... i know he is obviously in pain with his teeth bless him. Thanks Hillbilly

Hello! I just got a husky puppy about 2 weeks ago. She's currently 2 months old and very lively. The one problem I'm afraid i have is that we live in California, where its really hot lately and I'm not sure on how to cool my puppy, Winter, off. She's not allowed in the house yet until she's properly trained to not bite everything in site.(We let her in when its close to bedtime though and she sleeps with me in my room.) We have lots of shade in our backyard and we got her a kiddie pool that we fill with water and ice for her to keep cool in but she doesnt seem to like that as much. She spends most of the day sleeping until the day is cool enough for me to go take her out …

When you finally bring your puppy home, one of the challenges you are likely to encounter is knowing when to take him/her out. I figured you can learn one or two things from these tips.

So everything is going really well with our new place. She's behaving wonderfully and is adapting well to our new lifestyle. The only issue now is that she's afraid of the bin for doggy poo bags. She's not afraid of any other patches around outside meant for dogs doing their business, but once I've picked hers up and start to walk towards the poop bin, she puts the brakes on and refuses to get anywhere near it. Often I look like a maniac, stretching my arm out to the bin while pulling in tug of war with a dog that's literally trying to leap backwards away from me. Has anyone else's dog ever been afraid of the poo bin? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So Freya and Lexi have been fighting lately, and I know why now I'm 100% sure that they are fighting over me. they only ever fight when I'm there, if it's other members of the family they're fine together. They stay outside together all the time, and they're fine, but as soon as I step out they're at it again. On a walk, I had Lexi go for Freya everytime Freya came over to me for cuddles, Lexi would go for her... And Freya wouldn't come near me after that, just stand at a distance looking at us, whilst Lexi stayed near me. Im at a loss of what to do now... Lexi isn't technically even my dog, she's my brothers but he doesn't bother wi…
