StacyAnn
I was wondering if anyone had advice about using the heater during the winter with a husky. We've been keeping it cooler than usual but were wondering what temperatures they can comfortably live in, and if it would be okay to turn the heat on. Jay
I think they are pretty adaptable dogs. I do keep my place cool in the winter, probably around 66 degrees. Although in the summer I keep the a/c at 70. So, unless you like to have it at 80 degrees, they will be fine.
Emma
Bear struggles with the heat more than Ice does. Our thermostat is set to heat the house to 20 Celsius but I've also got it on a timer so it will only heat the house to that temp for an hour in the morning and two hours in the evening. She's fine with that temp though. It's the hot summer days she struggles with.
Rachael_Astro
I never have our thermostat above 20 Celsius, the radiator is also turned off in my kitchen where his crate is and in my bedroom where he sleeps at night. I don't like too much heat either!
PaulG
I know of Huskys and Malamute living well in Sidney and in the outback of Australia in both cases the owners have made sure they have accsess to a pool of cool water to play in
Dan
I live in the tropics in Australia and they're fine .. obviously being bred in these areas helps. If they're panting/drooling excessively then it may be a bit warm for them.
Sarah
ok so I know i'm in the UK and we don't get warm weather as near as some other members on here but one of mine - Kaiser, like to lay in the sun and sunbath during summer lol - strange boy! SamK
Huskies are known to survive in low temperature areas including 75 degrees below zero Fahrenhei.
