Taking Sherlock to the vets tomorrow morning (my Chameleon) His joints are swollen and he isn't himself and not sure if I will be bringing him home tomorrow or not From what I've look at on-line it's a form of Chameleon gout, I don't know how much if any pain he is in as you just can't tell, but will be speaking to a vet tomorrow and going through all his husbandry, if it turns out i could have prevented this - which I'm guessing I'm going to find out it will break my heart This vet is well established an considered an expert reptile veterinarian so he's not cheep but I don't care - I want what's best for Sherlock and really hope I don't have to say goodby…

For the past 2 days the alarm at Marc's work has gone off at night - being the keyholder he has to attend. He went last night and found a bat flying around the office!! Cue Marc freaking out and ringing me so i get in a taxi and go up........couldnt find it after an hour so came home. Just as he was leaving tonight it flew pas him and his boss so they managed to get it into the kitchen and close the door. I got hold of a couple who live nearby who came out at 9.30 tonight to get it - it took over an hour and we still hadn't found it......then I saw a box with mugs in and said oh look in there - he opened the box and OH!!!!!!! I know this is a bit of an ask, and quite possibly nobody will be able or willing to even suggest the possibility that she may have some sight. But when she is walking she just seems to know something is there and moves out the way with out prompt. I would love to think our little girl may be able to see even shadows. Our vet has told us she is totally blind but not told us why. If you shine a light in her eyes they reflect colour, the pupils do not dilate or open much but they do change. I think I am definitely clutching at straws but I would so love to think she could see us when we are cuddling her.

I know it's only been five weeks since True Blue passed, but I can barely live without a pet anymore. After one long inner debate, I relented on getting another Betta. I just got to make sure this one looks nothing like Blue, or else I'd feel like I'm just replacing him so this is Memory Lane, a bright red female veiltail. So far this is the only good pic I have of her. This girl is lightning fast!

Giant Breeds?

Has, or does anyone here own a giant dog breed? How would you say they compare to huskies in terms of requirements, like food, living space, traits like being very active or even shedding? My grandparents, when I was much younger, had a St Bernard and he was such an awesome dog. Very calm and gentle, they even used to put me on his back sometimes. Try that now! I have heard that despite their size, some of the giant breeds are actually pretty easy to train and look after, and they're usually very gentle, but I'd imagine with a 60kg+ dog, you'd want to be sure you had loose lead walking under control as quickly as possible. Of course I'm still in no way able to t…

This was a little while back but I am new to this forum and have only just decided to share these photos. My mum has two Staffordshire Bull Terriers and two Boston Terriers, and one of the little Boston's had her first birthday about a month ago. She had a cake made from mince and chicken wings, which all four of them enjoyed! I got these hilarious photographs in my email.

The winters coming in and Brooke suffers from the cold a fair bit. Was Xmas shopping today and saw this rather fetching wooly jumper, I wasn't sure if it would fit but it's stretchy so when I tried it on its fine so now she won't get so chilly. [emoji2] Hubby says she looks like bag puss, lol.

So it looks like people are deeply fascinated by reptiles and rodents nowadays. But hey people, what about fishes? I know they're easily the most boring pet on Earth, but I grow up with them and currently have at least forty (I have tiny koi babies shorter than my pinky finger, can't count 'em) right now. So... yeah, they've grown on me I used to have a bunch of different 'breeds'. Ranging from common goldfishes to funky ones like the Black Ghost (love those little guys!). Then we moved house and gotta re-home all of our fishes (we also have at least forty back then) along with the tanks and other equipments. Our new home came with two small, shallow ponds that my dad c…

I think Brooke must be a bit chilly as she's sprawled herself across my son for some love and warmth. A boy and his piggy. [emoji2] Trying to take a photo of a black dog on a brown sofa isn't easy, she camouflages too well!
