SmileMan *Alpha* 1 2 3

I introduce to you all, the alpha build of... SmileMan! A smiley managment application written in C++/QT for linux and Windows. This little baby keeps track of all your smileys, and then gives you the link in a snap! I'll come on here with the Linux executable later but I originally did it on linux and had to make a few tweaks and compile it on windows and I figure I might as well release it while I'm still on here... So, to set it up, unzip SmileMan, put the file wherever (I would put it in your pictures folder) and then click on the .exe, then right click and go to "Send to" then desktop and boom, you have a convenient link right there..…

Has anyone here any direct experience of the Mineral Oil PC trend happening at the moment. If so why did you do it, and were you pleased with the out come and whats your upscaling plan? Are you using Vegetable or Mineral Oil? For those of you who dont know it's just easier if i link you to this short video: QfByi-494Tk There a re lots of instructionals and infomration video's this is just a short one. The benefits are mainly for those folks who O/C their systems with those that suffer with over heating. In short the oil stablises them due to the fact it takes about a zillion years for the oil to heat up…

Morning, Ive been thinking about getting a art tablet be it one you use to work on the computer with or a portable handheld on which you can use on the go. I honestly have no idea where to start, as there are so many options out there. Not sure if I should just get a cheepo one to see if I can get along with it or is that pointless and should invest in something mid range? Cheers J x

Just wondered whether it might be helpful having a section on different free software available, maybe helpful for people who don't spend hours wasting time on google every day. I personally use a site called filehippo for most of my free downloads, it has a large selection of free programs, utilities, web browsers which are nearly all free ( though some are trial versions). What about the rest of you, where do you look for free software, and what sort of free software would you like to find on the net?

Hi, Don't really know if this is the right place to put this but.... I use the Mozilla Firefox as my net browser (not sure why it just seemed like a good idea at the time) but one of the bonuses for me is that I can change how it looks. Mine currently has a cute picture of sleeping husky pups. Does anyone else use this, and is there anyone brighter than I am who could put some more pictures on there of their furries that I can use to brighten my working day.

Thought some of you might want to see what the early version of windows 8 looks like. Im personally finding it a little odd as its a big change from the norm (no start menu for example) but only time will tell I guess. For now Im gonna reserve judgement.

Others may have seen this before, but I just happened across it. This from the introduction on their home page. What makes it particularly interesting is that they have a search feature. Existing law and pending legislation which can be searched by state and area of interest.

My dad realized that I'm so in love with books I spent too much money on it so he decided to buy me this "kindle" device. I've been reading about it in wiki and it says this is some kind of an e-book but I still don't understand what would this thing do (other than to buy books obviously) wiki says: "analysts have projected the device to be a strong competitor to Apple's iPad" which made me think this is a smaller version of iPad released by a different company. So.. Does it means I can play Angry Birds or Cut The Rope in this "kindle" thing? But product description doesn't say so x_x it was simply made to read books and do some TV show/movie streaming Oh an…

One of the things I've liked about the various flavours of Linux I've tried is the ability to have several screens available to me. I keep different programs open on different screens and go there to do what I want to do. I wish I had the money or the desktop space for the several monitors some of you have, I don't so I look for alternatives. Oh, I suppose it's safe to say that at any given time I may have a dozen programs open at once, kinda crowds the desktop and sometimes, even the taskbar. I've looked at various "options" and all of them have either been really clumsy or worse yet crashed themselves and whatever I had running on them. They've lasted all of…

I have photoshop elements 7 and was going to install it, but then I had this brainfart. I know it will slow down my computer, so was wondering if I could put it on an external hard drive and use it from there. Then it's only slowing me down when I use it..... OR, is there some other suggestions instead of installing photoshop? I used to use Piknik (online photo manipulation) but they are shutting down the site in April. I just got this darn thing and I don't want it running slowly. That absolutely drives me crazy. *Remember, I don't know much about computers, so speak slowly and clearly!

I don't normally do things like this, but does anyone know if this spam is legitimate?? Hit my inbox this morning and of course with a title of "Help a Husky" got my attention. I also, don't normally pass email addresses along but figure if it's legit then it needs the help --- and if it's not then they deserve all the spam it generates. The thing that bothers me, aside from the plea for help for a Husky, is that there is no contact information on any of the referenced sites. Figure if they really need hel they'd give someone a way to get 'hold of them. //al Dear Friend, I am a one year old Siberian Husky that was recently dia…
