Hi and thanks for reading this. My husky is pedigree syberian about 1yr 4 months old male in tact. Ive had him since 7 weeks old & fully vaccinated up to date. Issue 1 - person keeps telling me he looks unwell for 2 main reasons one being he is skinny? and his coat. Now as we all know having huskies they shed like a snowstorm in a tornado and that is what he has been doing for past couple months so obviously he is not as puffy. He weighs around 25.7kg if I remember correctly from last vets visit. Vets say he is a good weight but I am unsure or trusting of some vets. He eats but will never eat dog food in fact will flip it and pee on it in protest. He …

Anyone give their dog CBD? Tuff a few months ago had knee surgery and needs some joint care after. I started him on some joint supplements and it caused bloody stool. So I took him off of them and got it all cleared up. I got him some cbd drops (bacon flavored) for dogs and was interested if anyone else has tried any. I take cbd for joint pain and it works well on humans. Also I should add that his is for dogs not humans. Thoughts?

We've had sherlock for a couple of months now and he keeps having diarrhea. back in November (last year) he had major bloody diarrhea and we got all sorts of blood work and tests done and nothing came back positive, after they gave him antibiotics and probiotics he got better and was good until just now (April). now he's starting to get diarrhea again and overall doesn't seem to be feeling too good. we want to avoid a vet visit if possible because of the insane cost last time around. Please let me know if anyone has any idea what is causing this or how to stop/prevent it!

Hey, first time poster as I'm browsing the Internet trying to find any info I can. My Husky/Shepard mix, Marceline is experiencing this wound/skin issue thing on her bottom lip that got a secondary infection that doesn't seem to be clearing up. Although the infection died down the thing on her lip doesn't seem any better and her mouth has started to get a bunch of ulcers. This could be due to the medication (antibiotics, inflammation reducer, pain pill, probiotics) or it may be related. It could also be a zinc deficiency thing or maybe a food allergy? I've seen the vet a couple of times about this issue and she has a biopsy scheduled for Wednesday, but my Dr. re…

Hey guys, Im new here so hope you dont mind me posting I have 2 huskies Bandit and Narla and Narla has been having some problems with her nose for over 3 months now. As you can see in the picture her nose is quite snotty / runny and really dry on the outside. She has had xrays done and a camera up her nose but the vets just dont know what it is. The only thing they have said is it could be something called chronic rynitus (not sure on the spelling). I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or if any ideas as to what it could be as the vets just arnt really helping Regards Neil

My baby Lobo is 13/14ish this year and is slowly starting a mental decline. He's forgotten potty training and will only go in one spot in the apartment, absolutely REFUSES to pee/mark or poo outside unless he cant hold it and the poo comes out. He's forgotten his basic commands "sit, shake, lay" and sometimes seems to not remember his name. Has anyone experienced a cognitive decline in their baby? If so, what did you do to help it? He's currently taking some "cognition bites" we ordered off Amazon and Chewy.

I think my Nyla baby has a zinc deficiency. Goofball can’t sit still for a picture, but she has a sore on her nose roughly the size of a quarter that has been bleeding. In August, she had a grand mal seizure. I took her to the vet and they diagnosed her as having epilepsy. Now, today, I have found a sore on her nose that I think is linked to zinc deficiency and I also believe that is what causes her seizures... my local vet is clearly not an expert on the matter. Does anyone have any input or have a husky that has zinc deficiency? I changed her diet back in August, but clearly it may not be enough. I ordered a zinc supplement called Nutrazinc and am waiting for it to arri…

I am a proud new owner of a 12 week old female Siberian Husky. Zoey is her name. I had her since she was 8 weeks and she is the best ever. I’m having an issue with her eating her kibble. I’ve bought various brands and found at 9 weeks she was eating Nulo Puppy food for large breeds. I mix in a little water to get the kibble a bit soft but after 2 weeks of it she goes out of her way not to eat. She does eat food just not that kibble. Any suggestions please? A trainer advised that I was giving her too much human food (grilled chicken and brown rice) and that’s got her wanting only that. I need to train her to eat this so she might stay a day without eating a lot but if I st…

Hey everyone! I recently got a husky and had him on puppy food. I realized it wasn’t the healthiest puppy foods, so I switched him to All Life Stages for about a month. I had to go to specialty military training for a month, so a friend of mine took care of him. When I came home, he told me he had switched my dog’s food to Purina One Chicken & Rice flavor (the adult one). He was about 5 months at the time. Now he is around 8 months and still on it. — My question is this: Is it too late to switch him back to puppy food or should I go back to All Life Stages? He’s growing, but it seems like he isn’t as big as he should be at 8mo. add. He’s the runt if that ha…

Hi everyone, My 11 months old husky infected with parvo virus and he is with better condition right now. However, he lost so much weight in treatment process. So i want to give him some supplemantaries to both recovering his condition and strenghten his immune system. Another reason that i give him these supplemantaries is a chronic illness for huskies which is hip dyslexia. So with a recommendation of my friend whose malamute dogs, i thinking to buy King K9 and Canina Canhydrox GAG. Here is the links; https://www.kingk9.co.uk/product/muscle-performance/ https://homelabvet.com/product/canina-petvital-canhydrox-gag-for-dogs-60-1020-tab/ Is anybo…

From time to time, our 6yo husky has stomach issues where his stomach grumbles very loudly and he gets lethargic, loses his appetite and does not drink much water. He even refuses his favorite treats at this time. These episodes are usually followed by a period of time where he releases excessive amount of putrid gas. anyone here experience anything similar? The vet has not been able to diagnose it yet and it breaks our hearts to see him suffer like this.

Hi folks. We recently adopted a 12 week old husky puppy, about 6 kilos. The shelter had been feeding her Wainwright's dry food https://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/wainwrights-grain-free-puppy-food-with-turkey-and-vegetable-10kg and I am continuing with that for now. I'm a bit confused about how much to feed her. The bag says for a medium dog 200-500g per day which is a massive range. Elsewhere I've read 20g per kilo per day which is 120g per day. Can I just overfill her bowl and assume she will self-regulate or do I need to be limiting her calories? She is also getting lots of treats because she is a good girl! Thanks.

Hello everyone ^^ I'm a first time Husky owner, and handler. I've had my darling boy Balto "Valz" for short, since he was a wee 8 week. Met both his parents whilst meeting the breeder (both well in standard, lines falling back to innisfree) . Over the time, raising him to be an angel of a pup now. I've noticed that his height and weight to be honest really hasn't changed at all after about 12 months old. He is now 16.5 months old. With the best that I could do, I measured his wither to floor as only 20 inches and his weight at about 17kg. I've already talked to his vet, and ruled out health concerns. We also have been feeding him high quality nursing mom and puppy fo…

I have a 8 weeks old wooly husky (Simba) who Coughs every single time after drinking water. I also consulted the vet and was told it's common because puppies drink water very fast and was given an antibiotic syrup in case it was a kennel cough. He also sneezes sometimes. But he's very active. He also drinking a lot of water. He needs water every 2 mins while playing, though he doesn't drink a lot at that time. I'm worried a lot about him as it's my first dog. Please help me with it.

My husky puppy (6 months) is a heavy chewer. We have graduated up all sizes of rawhide chews and are at the thick ones that are shaped like bones. But he still goes through one of those a day and my husband says that is too expensive to continue. We keep offering him a Nylabone, and so far, he has not been interested in it. We wonder if he doesn't like the way the rubber feels. I took it away for a while and just now, I am trying it again to see if he has any interest now that more teeth are coming in. Can anyone recommend what chews we should be giving him? Keeping in mind that he is still a puppy and I have seen that not all chews, toys, or bones are recommen…

Hello all. I've been debating this issue forever... I would like input on how you feed your husky. Puppy or adult. What I'd like to know, is how many cups of dry food you feed per day? 7 months and up. Please add age and quantity! Thank you all

Skyla last Friday started limping , we decided to keep an eye on her over the weekend as our vets was fully booked but by the time I got home that evening she wasn't put weight on it at all so I rang our vet surgery instead (the other one is more like a doctors a lot smaller) and got her in for Saturday morning , the vet said she either had arthritis or elbow displaysia but they can't know about displaysia until they xray but at £800 we'll try her on metacam for a week n see how she gets on , she went back this morning n the vet is more certain it's arthritis as her elbows are lot comfier now so the antiinflammatorys is working She's now on long term metacam after a blo…

I have just taken full care of my late mother's siberian husky. She is 17 years old and suprisingly still rather active. She doesn't respond to whistling or shouting anymore, but I get her attention my clapping rather easily. Her vision is not what it was but if I stay close enough she has no problem following me. She was knocked down by a car when she was very young, and is a slow walker. She still manages to do a decent walk each day. I am mindful to keep the walks realistic and easy for her. She can be fiesty and I am not really sure how she has kept going at this rate for so long. My main query is what kind of diet should I provide for a dog so advanced in years.…

Hello, i have a Husky who is currenty 6month old, i was feeding him with Farmina N&D Ancestral Grain Selection - link https://www.farmina.com/in/farmina/997-natural-&-delicious-low-ancestral-grain-canine.html I bought 3 times bags of 15 kg each, the first two times he ate normally, but the third time he doesn't eat, probably he got sick, since he is the type that eats anything. so I was looking for a replacement, but it is hard to find good reviews, some of the brands I can find here are - Farmina N&D - Purina® Pro Plan? - Biofresh from Hercosul - Royal Canin Maxi Puppy I am aware that the formula may be different becaus…
