my husky keep getting diarrhea

Recommended Posts

We've had sherlock for a couple of months now and he keeps having diarrhea. back in November (last year) he had major bloody diarrhea and we got all sorts of blood work and tests done and nothing came back positive, after they gave him antibiotics and probiotics he got better and was good until just now (April). now he's starting to get diarrhea again and overall doesn't seem to be feeling too good. we want to avoid a vet visit if possible because of the insane cost last time around. Please let me know if anyone has any idea what is causing this or how to stop/prevent it!

It is impossible to give any sort of diagnosis on the information you have given,  - and none of us are vets

What was he fed for the 48 hours before the start of the runs?    Is he any different on different foods?     Does he ever seem to go off the food,  -  show reluctance to eat?

This article may help  -  but please read it carefully   -  its on natural antibiotics - seeing as they appeared to help last time  (which suggests some type of infection).

https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/three-natural-antibiotics-for-your-dog/?utm_source=klaviyo&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Avoid%20ABX%20%2B%20S.%20boulardii%20%2801GX1G7103D34G1YDDTWRH3YK2%29&_kx=sLn4qSfdfyLOoa2-Dx5QbD4aqTypZrBfhHOZ6O_IQeNeADi3NRfZceTm2Q1anr4v.C4YyV9

However even if he improves on a natural antibiotic -  it wont help your dog long term   - you must find out the cause or it will happen again.    Bloody diarrhoea  should always be checked out.   Is the blood bright red or dark red?

One of my boys showed similar symptoms  -  it turned out he had become food allergic  (although my boy also vomited a fair bit).

How long was he good for?  Are you still having the problem?  First of all change your vet they are ripping you off.
2 Have you insurance?

My Husky had diearea for years too. I took him to a specialist who put him on medication for 1 year and a home cooked diet.  He got better but then started developing allergies.  He became allergic to protein and grains.  I now feed him a supplement the specialist recommended from Croc de Cuisine website..She is a French Veterinary nutritionist and the Vit i5 Blue has all they need.  I then feed him PURINA hypoallergenic diet and his stools are 100 per cent perfect plus NO more vomiting.

I hope this helps x 🙂
