Well, it's been a long time, but I thought I drop in to say hello.............but there aren't many here. I miss you all - gosh it used to be you'd stop in and there were 40 to 50 on at a time (or more). Sad. But I suppose people's lives change, as mine did. The girls are great. Petunia has been with us 3 1/2 years now. Precious girl that she is. Rynnie will celebrate her 6th birthday on Saturday. She's still my pRYNcess. Take care all. Miss you!

Good evening all! Simka here barking that I hope all of you humans and huskies are having a grrrreat summer so far. And a happy July 4th for those who celebrated! It sure has been cool and rainy here in maine. Definitely not awesome summer weather! I was over hanging out at GrizzLees house earlier today. Oh, btw: Rusty is doing wonderful! He has settled in very well and Grizz and Bluedog just love him! Well, us dogs were all hanging in Grizz's livingroom earlier when Aunty Rachel stopped by. She was going to watch the boys for the next three days while Carol goes on a trip. Rachel ran up the stairs and almost right into us dogs. At that moment we all cou…

I've had depression since like year 9/10 of Highschool, I've had lots of counselling and stuff like that, but its not helped much, and earlier this year I was diagnosed with both depression and anxiety and was put on anti-depressants. I've been low before and I've contemplated suicide lots of times, but sitting here right now is the closest I've ever felt to actually going through with it. I'm at my friends house, surrounded by my 4 best friends, and we're just doin the usual, just playing video games and joking around, but I'm just distracted with how horrible I feel. I feel guilty for being around them like this, I just keep thinking "do …

Had a scare last night. NIkko was upstairs, access to the bathroom was closed, so I thought he could not get into anything. He was quiet, too quiet! He came downstairs and had minty fresh breath...Found out that he ate almost an entire pack of Dentyne Ice chewing gum! There was almost a full pack in a pocket of a pair of shorts on the floor. I have read that xylitol, which is in many sugarless gums, is highly toxic in dogs and can cause liver failure very quickly. Frantically, I searched for the ingredients on the gum, and thankfully this brand does not contain xylitol, however I still wanted to make sure, so I called the vet. They said to induce vomiting imme…

I have no idea what's gotten into Lexi (staffie) and Freya (husky) recently. They've been having tiffs lately, after their first one we got Lexi spayed, because we thought it was her who had the problem, but from watching them together, I'm thinking it might be Freya that's instigating these fights... They had one last night, and it was quite bad. I calmly separated them, and Freya had bitten Lexi's face and her eye, thankfully she's fine but I'm thinking, what will happen in the future? If I don't fix this and sort it out, one will end up dead. I have no idea what their problem is, I thought food, because Freya can be snappy with her food, and Le…

Bear and Ice have always been very different to each other. Bear is gentle and soft, hates rough play and is generally a quiet and peace keeping dog. Ice on the other hand is a little Tasmanian devil. Very outspoken, stands his ground and loves rough play to the point he doesn't know how to do anything else. He is also using this big boy act to disguise the fact that secretly he is a big baby, lol. The other day I went out in the garden with the dogs and snuck the grooming rake with me. When ice spotted it, he came running over to me, turned around to face the other way and held his head high, closed his eyes and smiled dreamily whilst I groomed him. …

I need to rant , a dog group I'm on .... Not huskies ... Someone posted a pic 25 min's ago of their dog after being neutered of a sadly very swolled and red area , said the 'vets left my dog like this' well you wouldn't have picked your dog up at 9pm , n u would have noticed it b4 now if he had left it like that so no its NOT the vets fault , secondly 'they didn't give him any painkillers' you would have been informed that they do not give out pain killers after neutering anyway , people are commenting saying the vet is a disgrace , needs to be sacked / sued etc when the more likely cause of this happening is the dog doing something to pull a stitch , instead of posting c…

For the last couple of years I have been unable to walk any distance due to arthritis of the spine mainly, but hips and knees just added to the fun - usually about 150 yards has been my limit without having to sit for a few minutes - then I can go another 150 yards. I have been trying a new therapy called Bowen therapy from a herbal practitioner local to me - she started out as a physio specializing in athletic injuries etc before branching out to different types of massage and herbal medication etc. I have received five treatments so far - and thought I had seen some progress, but not tried to do any real walking because I still had the pain. Yesterday I…

We have been reported to the council for fly tipping!!!! We got a letter today saying that we have till Sunday or they will start proceedings for an asbo! It has been a week since the fire and we are waiting on go ahead from insurance so we can hire a skip and get rid of all of the burnt stuff but someone has complained about the mess (left by fire service) and amazingly the coucil have for once pounced immediately on the poor victims. After getting an earful the man from coucil has given us an extension of a week, so we have to move dirty burnt stuff twice to keep them happy. There is a section across the carpark where people do fly tip and they do nothing about it but…

Hello everybody, I am writing here because I need some advice on a new puppy I got. He is 8 weeks old and I got him from someone who was not prepared for raising a puppy, especially a husky. I've had him for a week now and have been dealing with some health issues -- think he may have come from a puppy mill originally, and spent ~200 at the vet, but his cough is gone his worms are being treated and his eye infection is clearing up, so doing much better. His next set of shots are on friday. I've had large active dogs my whole life and spend abundant time with them. I work from home and I love playing with my dogs. We go on long walks and runs and I have a big yard f…

I can't believe it...my little pup-a-lump (as she is affectionately known in the house) is one! We don't know when Harper's birthday is so today isn't an exact day, but what I do know is despite her issues with reactivity she has bought an unbelievable amount of happiness into our house. She is my big ball of goofy, crazy, super cute fluff who is growing into a caring, funny, and super smart not-so-little dog that I couldn't live without ❤ Happy birthday Harper! How have you gotten so big?! Sent from my HTC One mini 2 using Tapatalk

We had an interesting letter yesterday from our vet asking if we are interested in Solo becoming a blood donor. I never knew this existed so phoned the coordinator. It involves a simple test/screen then the hard part keeping him still for 10 minutes whilst a pint is taken. She was very reassuring, if at any time he is unhappy they stop and half of donors dont give on their first visit as they want it to become regular so keeping the dog happy is paramount done usually with treats. As a reward he will get a new toy. Im waiting now for the service to phone and make appointment (it will be in June) and will let you know how it goes. I think Charlie relieved he's too smal…

It's so awesome, I'm so excited! His photo will feature on their site and facebook and he won a hamper they are going to deliver next week! Their representative actually wanted to know if he's a Husky or Malamute because he looks like a pedigree Mal to them, so I said no a husky Husky! still not sure about his 'roots' though... Hopefully his hamper is full of yummy goodies for him!

So, what goes through your mind when you see the following? I found it on Facebook... Must be uncomfortable, but it looks like the Husky is enjoying fresh air! I wonder if they have the burglar bars like that for the dog to lay there...
