About a year ago, I was diagnosed with major depression and anxiety. (And as I've mentioned a long awhile ago, I was addicted to my computer which is why I don't use the internet as often anymore) I didn't even know I had it that bad and most of that was because I felt that way all the time so it was "normal" for me. Anywhom, apparently I've had it for years. Probably nearly 10 without knowing. I recently met a guy with a PSD (psychiatric service dog) for his PTSD and he recommended me to ask my doc about asking for a PSD. I told him that I don't really have what I considered a life-debilitating disability. But he told me to go and tell my doc how she helps me and war…

Hi all Our Arjun is now 9 and a half weeks old and is lovely for the most part. I am home a lot due to the fact that I can work from home but the OH goes to work Monday-Friday. I seem to have a lot more confidence when the OH is around. As soon as she leaves for work I begin to become slightly anxious and I think that is sensed by Arjun who then behaves badly. Initially I had an awful bout of puppy blues but I seem to be over that. Does this feeling get better? I feel guilty that this is supposed to be a magical time and I am just not feeling it at the moment. Also, he trains fine when there are treats involved, however, take away the treats and he doe…

Secret Santa

A member had asked me if we are doing the secret santa this year. Honestly, I had forgotten all about it. So, I wanted to get input from all members on if they would be interested in participating. If there is enough interest I will put it all together quickly. Here is how it works... I get a list of people interested in participating. After I get everyone, I will need their addresses. I will then match people up at random and provide them with the name and address of the person they are buying for. There is a limit on how much you can spend, usually a nominal amount (15-20 USD). You will then send it out, and once you receive your gift, you have to wait unt…

its getting to that time of year again and i am not sure where to post this so feel free to move it if its in the wrong section. I currently have 3 dogs I like to get them a Stocking but I find most stocking's even those described at for LARGE dogs are poorly made, and are really for small dogs, Has any one found a GOOD prepacked Stocking that has big dog dog toys chews and treats. You may be like me and avoid raw hide chews because of the choking, bloat and other dangers with this product. With German Shepherds, Husky or Mals toys need to be more robust. Or like to avoid treats that are obviously meant for smaller dogs and could be a danger to our loved ones. …

Not too sure if anyone will remember me, but I was an avid member of this forum for a while and disappeared during a very busy period in life. Hello to everyone (if your still here!) that might remember me, Harper, Hento, and Finn. I hope everyone is well! Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using Husky Owners mobile app

Currently in the uk if you harm a police dog or horse they can only charge you with basic cruelty laws or in most cases Criminal Damage (animals are legaly property). A Police dog and his handeler were vicously attacked and both are getting better and recovering but due the the ofender only being partialy charged a new law called Finn's Law after the brave dog is being requested this isnt the first time a polic dog or horse has been attacked, and I and others feel they should be given added recognition by the law. It is unfar that you can shoot or stab the animal officers and be charged with criminal damage. Many feel that this is unfair for the animals …

We have been told that our Alaskan Malamute should not be kept inside the house as could develop arthritis. We were advised to keep him in a kennel overnight so we went and bought a 15ft kennel and on the first night he nearly shredded the door. We tried over a week and he was having none of it so to save the neighbours and our sanity we let him back in to sleep and tried letting him out (loose in the garden with kennel door open for him) on the days he is not in doggy day care but again he just howls and tried to bite through the upvc to get back in the house. He gets lots of walks / runs and is in day care 3 days a week so are we doing the right thing keeping him in the…

A few things have been happening the last couple of days with the pups. (Yeah I know they're grown up now but they'll forever be the pups to me. Lol). We took Bear for her check up yesterday and she's doing well. There was a milky white spot, very faint in one eye that the vets said was completely harmless...a "lipid" something or other that won't get any bigger but may get more opaque looking. Her vision is like having a pair of glasses with a slight smudge on one lens and nothing needs to be done. She's doing ok on the steroids (25mg every other day) and her organs are doing well still on it. She's put on a bit more weight though coz if the meds. Somewhere betwe…

Good evening all! Simka here barking that wow!, it has been a little while since me and mommy posted! We hope everyone is doing well and not too upset about saying goodbye to summer, and welcoming in old man winter! Well myself and mommy have been ok. Mommy is stressing over the rendovashin? thingy we had put on our house. A sunroom thingy and deck. It has taken waaaaay longer to build and we are now hoping that we might at least be able to sit out on it when it is freezing cold and ring in the new year! . My friends GrizzLee, Rusty and Bluedog and Carol are good. Actually the last couple of chilly mornings, Grizz's "arf-ritis" has been bothering . From what i hear, …

this has been going on for the last 8 months, tonight i came back from a dog walk and found his dogs poop right outside the door to my flat. i have reported it every couple weeks to the landlord and nothings been done about it. I have also reported to local police council and dog warden and still no joy any one got any addvice on how to deal with this idiot left sitting right where my dgs would have walked to go in the door, big pile and a few drips scattered around
