A really good article about the topic from the Sibes and Sled Dogs website: Why Can’t Siberian Huskies Safely Go Off-Lead? This is one of the constant questions raised about Siberian Huskies. You would think it would be enough that: every responsible Siberian Husky owner will tell you that it is not safe to let a Siberian Husky off lead in an unenclosed area, every ethical Siberian Husky Breeder will tell you that it is not safe to let a Siberian Husky off lead in an unenclosed area, every single Siberian Husky rescue organisation IN THE WORLD will tell you that it is not safe to let a Siberian Husky off lead in an unenclosed area; and that every single Siberian Husky …

Willow has this strip down her back, like many others, but the fur has a different texture. At first I thought maybe she got something in her fur but I gave her a bath and that's not it. Dakota has a darker strip down his back but the fur feels the same as the rest of his body. Does anyone elses dog have the strip down their back and it feels coarser?

We were talking about work on another thread, you know the hours and such like and it got me wondering what do we all do for a living. I'll start, I don't work at the moment, since living in France I've done seasonal work on fruit farms but since we've had the dogs we decided for me to stay at home with them. So I guess I'm a full time husky carer Before I worked in administraion and logistics for a motorsport team.

Before anyone freaks out and lashes out at me like other husky people have done, they do exist and they are not Alaskan Klee Kai. AKK are a mixedbreed and Mini Sibes are not. Mini Sibes are fully Siberian... just a little smaller. They are not dwarfed, they are not bred runt to runt, and they are not cruelly putting a highly active dog into a non active small lap dog size. They are STILL highly active and need plenty of excercise, and still not tiny dogs. The breeder simply researched the lines and stuck with the lines that produced smaller dogs. There is one breeder in NC and one in ORlando... although they are not related, they have their own lines. They are registered …

I'm not worried about running out of food or toilet roll I'm more worried about running out of treats. I can explain to Kelly and Eden-Willow about having to ration certain Items to get through this time of crisis But the Dawgs won't understand why they are not getting their normal supply of goodies. . . . Aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh.

Hi there! Wondering if any husky owners ever meet up at the Brunswick dog park for play dates? We lost our sweet boy Niko 1 year ago and I'm having husky withdrawals until we can get another one. Would love to watch a group play and get to know some owners.. Also, I'd love to find a group of people who want to take part in dogsitting each other's pups for vacations when we can't take them with us. We want to get a shelter dog, but want to find a group first. Thanks! Lori

Hello, just wondering if a solid red husky go through a white phase at 3 weeks old. I am afraid he will turn sable white&red rather than solid red. Do you have experience with that? Both parents are red. Father is solid while mother is semi. I appreciate your comments.

This is not a question, but just a reminder of how to take care of our doggos after surgery basically my neighbor's large dog has a TPLO surgery. Though it's not the worst, there are things we need to keep on after surgery. and so I researched and read some good info about it here.
