TORONTO  As if bedbugs aren't icky enough in their own right, researchers now wonder if the pesky little critters might also be a means of spreading so-called superbug infections. Researchers discovered that a sample of the blood-sucking insects taken from three patients who live in Vancouver's gritty Downtown Eastside were carrying two types of drug-resistant bacteria. Co-investigator Dr. Marc Romney, a medical microbiologist at nearby St. Paul's Hospital, said five bedbugs plucked from the patients or their belongings were carrying MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) or VRE (vancomycin-resistant enterococci). Dubbed superbugs, the bacteri…

Hey, A heads up for anyone in the London area. I live in zone 1 and have recently seen a couple of yellow vans with "City Dogs" on the side in a kind of graffiti style. I was walking Aries this morning and a woman with one of these vans was setting up next to a local park. Apparently, they offer FREE chipping and check-ups as part of an initiative to help out local dog owners. So if you see a van, make sure you get details about rally points in your area

UGH!!!!!! I have just gone to get my 3 dogs registered and while reading the rules and regulations of owning dogs I wonder what in the world am I doing in this country!! The people here obviously has issues! According to the dog registration form. A house is limited to own only 2 dogs. And recently in the newspapers, Dogs you are able to house is base on Dog size and BREED! According to them, we are unable to own dogs whose breeds are 'questionable'. The breeds listed down that we are not allowed to have are such as Pit Bulls and Mastiff and many more. It is said these dogs are dangerous and subject to violence! Seriously? And it got worse once i re…

So we've been told by Sophias Auntie (who lives next door), that there is apparently a lot of dog fighting going on in the area Which is sad enough in itself, BUT - theres more! Apparently, theyre trying to steal peoples dogs to use :/ Sophias Auntie was approached by a gang of youths while she was walking her springer spaniel. The youths had been "hiding" around the corner/under the bridge on the dog walking path that you cant see from the road. They asked her if Charlie was "a biter." So people need to just be aware, and make sure you dont say anything appealing to them, and be careful incase you are followed, so they know where you live. There has been…

If you wanted to avoid the wedding, you should have suggested to people that you were going to attend and excercise your right of free speech, like two of my friends. Then you would have been arrested for pre crime! He's a proffessor of Anthropology, and was going to london to perform some street theatre! Here's a phone call wondering about pre crime arrests. I never knew you could be arrested before having committed a crime without evidence (unless of course it was for suspicion of something serious like killing someone)

It's many people's worst nightmare – the neighbour's out-of-control dog baying for your blood, then, despite your attempts at self-defence, biting you. As for being shot afterwards? By the police? That's just adding insult to injury. And injury to injury, to be honest. This nigh-on unbelievable event took place in the Wedding district of Berlin recently, where a 30-year-old woman rang her neighbour's doorbell, only to have a bloodthirsty pitbull terrier called Carlito bite her – and not let go. Her screams of pain caught the attention of other neighbours, who called the police, and unsuccessfully attempted to remove the pitbull by…
