Hi Guys Me again I feel like all I do is post on here when I need help and I am so sorry for that and I hope I'm not annoying anyone because of this. I really need some help on a few issue I seem to be having with my oldest husky Molly she is 9 months at the moment and is driving me crazy!!! I actually spent the early hours of Tuesday morning crying because of her. I feel like I have failed her so much by not coping with her. She is the most amazing dog and I love her with all my heart she is my baby but I just feel like giving up on trying to get anything like good behaviour out of her. She has become how shall I say it a proper little m…

I am still trying to to train Kotori to go outside to potty, he is getting better at it but i would really love to train him to use a bell when he wants to go, at the min i take him out every half hour except when he is sleeping in his crate, durring other times i am constantly watching him fot little signs that he wants to go, he does not whine, wimper or go towards the door, the only thing he does is look at me, and then i say "you want to go pee pee/poop" etc, with that he wags his tail, but sometimes i dont see if looking at me, ie if im chatting to my 13 year old daughter etc, so then he does what he needs to do on the front room floor, i have heard o…

You know it is MEANT to be summer here which usually means that i would be hiding inside with the dogs under the air conditioner. But today is a nice 16C degree's and i was kind of bored and i wanted to get out of the house and work on my fitness. So i decided to take Zara out for her very first run with the bike. as soon as i got it out Phoenix knew what was about to happen and got super excited so i took him out first since he is so easy with the bike, we havent used it in over 6 months! but it was like we hadnt stoped using it he fell into his rythm and we went for a nice fast run. i just mapped it out, we did 1.37kms ( 0.8miles ) which for the fact it was our first…

So willow is usually pretty well behaved, the only shortcoming being that she is a real puller on the lead, it is our fault really for not sticking to heel training. I have tried stopping whenever she pulls and then praise when the lood becomes loose and turning direction when she pulls, but i think you must need to stick to it 100% for it to work and there are times when we just have to walk so it undoes any progress I make... Is anyone able to share their experiences and tips on training a sibe to not pull on the lead? I take her to an obedience club with all different breeds and she picks things up quickly but constantly tries to pull which c…

Hi all, I desperately needed to celebrate with people who would understand what the big deal is. Kira's crate finally turned up last night and we set it up when she was out on her walk. When she came back the crate made a clang as she was inspecting it which put her off going anywhere near it. Since then I've been putting treats in there and telling to go to 'bed'. Obviously she's been walking in it and walking straight back out but it was clear she was getting used to going inside it. This morning we put her food and water in there so she had to go in to get them, and left all her toys in there so if she wanted to play she had to go in it first. Thi…

Just a minute ago I took Echo out to see her daddy, as he came home early from work. She pulled the retractable leash out of my hand and ran down the road. We live in a trailer park, so there is a little traffic in the park, but it is located near a busy road. She first ran down the road and then toward the main road. Instead of freaking out, I ran away from her and she followed me trying to tackle me So I grabbed the leash and brought her back inside. I am just glad she followed me and didn't continue into the road.

Hey everyone me and paige got a new beagle puppy and are having some problems with crate training, when we put her in at night for the most part its okay she cries when she needs to go out and then we put her back in and she goes back to sleep within 5 min, but towards the early morning like 6:30 7 she will just cry and cry and wont stop, idk if there is anything we can do for this. And the main problem that we are having is when we go to get her out she seems like something scared her while she was in there, is there anyway to make her more comfortable with her crate? if so what should we do. And could this be because this is fleurys old crate bef…

Hello hello I have a few questions about my certificate and breeding and thought you chaps might be able to enlighten me (please feel free to move this thread if it's better elsewhere) Ok so I know that IMP is imported and that the prefix of "Ch" is champion (I could tell Anya was descended from Champion stock by the way she ate the foot off one of my pairs of tights!). It seems that Anya's Dad is also her great-grandfather (he was mated with his paternal granddaughter) - I assume that's "ok" as otherwise KC would have not allowed the registration? What degree of separation must there be between generations? I've noticed similar a couple o…

Got Metallica home yesterday, all things fine except one show of behaviour that I cannot understand. We are noticing a perculiar thing Vix is doing with Metallica. When she goes to Metallica she starts off licking her like I've seen Ash (their mum) tries to do like licking the pup bottom and the ears, but then Vix'll nuzzle her but you can see her teeth as well while she does it. We break them apart when Vix does this as although Metallica doesn't cry or whimper, she isn't comfortable about it. The only way I can describe it is when a dog or cat has a kink in their fur while grooming and you see themuse their teeth to have a good go at it. …

Kotori is beeing trained to go in his crate, and so far its going great , but how do i tell the difference if he is whinning to come out, or wants to potty?, when i first put him in there he whines for a little while but then settles down and sleeps, then after a while he will start whinning/howling again, i know the worst thing to do, is to let them out when they are kicking up a fuss, but what do i do if its because he wants to potty, do i let him out straigh away, and hope that he wants to potty, and not just out of his crate, or wait untill he settles again, but for how long? if its cause he wants to potty?

I started to crate train Kotori today, he is 9 weeks old and i have had him for a week. The day i brought him home, he led on my old dogs bed ( i had her put to sleep on the 13th jan, due to her haveing a tumor)and has slept on there ever since (i think it was the smell of another dog, that made him choose her bed), the bed is in a corner of my front room, but today i put the bed in the dog crate, as i thought it would make him settle in there better, i placed some of his toys in there and after a few mins he did go in there The crate is bigger then the space the bed was in, so i had to move it, and i think made a mistake of putting the crate near a place wher…

I was hoping to get some advice reguarding something rather concerning developing When I took Kiska to Mote Park over christmas we attracted the attention of a little kid, maybe about 4 years old, who gave her a little pat on the head before finding her seat somewhere else. When we got off the train and were walking through Maidstone town center we bumped into her and her mum again. She got quite excited and ran over, grabbing Kiska's face and trying to give her a kiss on the head. Kiska started yelping and flailing around, she ending up squirming on the floor as this kid kept trying to grab at her. I told her to stop, picked Kiska up and walked away but she w…

My 13 year old daughter Gracie and Kotori are going to training together, its a class that is for kids only, so that they also can control thier dogs, Kotori thinks Gracie is "his" play thing, and will nip, bark and just wont leave her alone, she says NO to him when he does things like tug the bottom of her trousers, or bite her toes/feet, but he takes no notice of her and just barks at her, i got told yesterday that he does this because he see's Gracie as an equal, so while he is still young (10 weeks) i thought it best to stop it, and that Gracie and Kotori can enjoy eachothers company without gettting too out of hand, and Gracie getting fed up with Kotori. He also…

I have created this post because i feel i need to answer to some of the comments made towards me in the previous post. I find it unfair that the topic was closed without me being able to answer myself. The area i was in is usually fenced off but the fence had been damaged and i did not know this, if i did they would have been ON THE LEAD. There is also rarely sheep in the field. I have further found out the sheep is NOT dead. I walk my dogs off the lead every day without any problems up until now and yes this is a lesson to keep well away from fields as such, fenced or or not. I know their prey drive i did research the breed bef…

Lately Sky is not eating her food as soon as we feed her and the rest of the pack. The thing is she will not let Tao eat his, she just gives him a dirty look and he walks away from his food. So I have to feed him in an other room and he eats it. It's as if she is sending thought waves telling him not to eat. She will lay there for hours not touching hers and he seems frightened to go near her when she is in that mood, so I take the food away from her and she eats it later. I my self think that she got to many *** bits at Christmas like Turkey and Goose and her normal food is not good enough for her now and she is trying to make Tao leave his to get better food.…

Hi guys, I've had Aska and Loki together now for what feels like a good 3-4 months, and they have totally settled in with each other and their roles. There are a couple of bits of behavor in their interactions though, that I would love to hear some opinions on, rather than assume I know the meaning of what I'm witnessing. The first, and I guess the most noticable, is the fixation she seems to have on his neck. When I get the dogs up in the morning, he will come up for a pat, she will come for a quick pat, and then she will go straight to his neck. When I go to take them for a walk, He'll start walking looking forward, she'll start walking looki…

Shadow and Nishka know commands such as sit, down, drop, roll over, stay (Shadow now lies down to this command when out on a walk and hes been off the lead where as nishka will just stand still, most of the time!) I say most of the time because what happened this weekend is the reason why i started this topic....... I really thought i was getting there with them walking them off the lead (usually on a golf course after dusk and occasionally in woodland i know well and down a farm track where the only areas that arnt fenced off are empty fields) but this weekend was a disaster, friday shadow picked up a chicken that had escaped from a chicken pen in the woods (w…

Hi all Can training be too much too soon? I have been training Kotori to wait for a command before he eats, i ask him to "wait" and then i say "eat" once he has sat and not moved towards his dish, and he is picking this up really quick but i know i need to train him on other things too, sit, stay, name recall (which he does at times), crate training and peeing and pooping in the garden, all this sounds alot for a 9 week pup lol, so i dont know if it will be too much for him all at once, do i do one at a time untill he knows, or do i try them all through out the day? I would be greatfull for any help Thanks

So, Echo is almost 7 months old now. She is the first dog I have ever had from puppy to adult. My only other dog that was mine was an Eskimo Spitz/Australian Shepherd mix and I only had her for a few months before my mom gave her away one day without telling me. (Her name was Saddie, and she was the love of my life). When we first got Echo, and had problems with nipping and jumping, I was worried that maybe she might be too much for me. I was worried that she would develop behavioral issues because of my inexperience, and that I would never really be able to get her under control. Well, she is 7 months in a few days. She is d…
