Oh dear - look at this link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11410582 Was watching BBC news this morning and dangerous dog laws are in question. At one point a man suggested that there are more dog attacks that can result in small dogs being badly injured or killed by large dogs. (Think it might sometimes be started by some of the small dogs going woofing towards anything bigger than them - self preservation - I'm bigger than I look???) Unfortunately, on the news, one poor spaniel had been attacked and even more unfortunately by 'two large huskies' - Which could be anything from malamutes to akitas or anything in between but now I bet even …

I try to keep track of animals in the news...this story hasn't made it to the news yet, but I still thought I'd share it. I recieved it earlier today in an email...and am simply passing it on. In the event that the local station does an article or broadcast about it...I'll post it as well.

This isn't my blog...but I know somewhere on here there's a things my husky has destroyed thread...I just can't find it right now... After Fox is particularly destructive I go to http://shitmypetsruined.com/ and then I'm not so terribly upset...there's a site for things kids have ruined too...Between the toddler and the Husky, some days I'm surprised my house is still standing.

On September 4th, around 10 am local time in cold, freezing fog, windy and whiteout conditions, my malamute Polar and I made it to the summit of Haba Snow Mountain in southwestern China, a 5396-meter (17,703 feet) peak located in the Yunnan province. She wasn't the first dog that ever got to the summit of the mountain, but after speaking with local guides, I think she was the first sled dog breed to have done so. Information on mountaineering with dogs is pretty scarce. Besides Caddis the lab who climbs Mt. Hood with Dan Howitt, and video of a stray dog seen on top of Aconcagua on youtube.com, there really isn't much recorded info of mountaineering dogs. Which …

World record for Tubby, recycling Labrador from Torfaen A Labrador who picks up discarded plastic bottles in his mouth and crushes them has made it in the 2011 Guinness World Records book. (Tubby finds the bottles and crushes them in his mouth before taking them to his owner for recycling) Tubby has helped his owner Sandra Gilmore, from Pontnewydd, Torfaen, recycle an estimated 26,000 plastic bottles over the past six years. Guinness World Records has put him in under "Most bottles recycled by a dog". "It's quite an achievement," said editor-in-chief Craig Glenday of the book's only new Welsh entry. It was…

Found this on the RSPCA's website... Dog Lincensing and dispite the amount of really horrendous things I keep reading about animal cruelty I am really massivly against being taxed £60 per year for the privilage of owning my dogs, I agree something must be done but I really dont think a tax on responcible dog owners (the only ones who would bother to comply with this propsed law) is the way to go about this! What do you guys think?

Pacific Sun Cruise liner in very heavy seas. Internal CCTV footage. The impact of massive waves that struck a cruise ship during a storm off New Zealand have been revealed by CCTV footage posted on the internet. Pacific Sun Cruise liner, carrying 1732 passengers and 671 crew, was caught in a severe storm on July 30, 2008, encountering seven-metre swells and 50 knot winds. Passengers who were aboard the journey were offered a 25 per cent reduction in the cost of a future cruise. :o :o ---- Pretty scary actually, I pity the poor lady that face plants against the column in the center of the video. …

Top Gear’s Stig is unmasked Image © PA The Stig has officially been unmasked after the High Court refused to grant a temporary injunction preventing the revelation of Top Gear's racing driver. Ben Collins has been named as the man behind the mask after the BBC took legal action to block publication of an autobiography by HarperCollins which would have revealed his identity. James May told the BBC upon hearing the news: "Obviously I'm now going to have to take some legal action of my own, because I have been the Stig for the past seven years, and I don't know who this bloke is, who's mincing around in the H…
